GHOSTBUSTERS 3: Emma Stone Out; Jonah Hill Still Undecided

GHOSTBUSTERS 3: Emma Stone Out; Jonah Hill Still Undecided

Here we have an update on the movie nobody actually believes will happen. According to The Schmoes' "Phantom" scooper, Emma Stone has passed on her role, but Jonah Hill still has an offer. What's more, the studio apparently won't move ahead without a couple of big names.

The Schmoes' scooper "The Phantom" is back with an update on the progress of the Ghostbusters threequel, and there's more bad news for the already very troubled flick. It seems Emma Stone has passed on the role of “Anna” and although Jonah Hill still has an offer out for “Jeremy”, word is that without at least two big name stars locked in Sony will not green light the picture. So if Hill also passes it will NOT bode well for this movie to ever see the light of day unless two suitably starry replacements scan be found sharpish. More at the link below.

Doing Ghostbusters without Venkman is like doing Clerks without Randal

can't see this move ever happening.
TheDpool - 12/4/2013, 4:35 PM
I know I'm the only one but I'd like to see a remake not a reboot with Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum two duo's that work well and are actually fun to watch.

As much of a Ghostbuster fan as I am, I would rather not see it made than have that fat talentless turd star in it.
Curmudgeon - 12/4/2013, 5:02 PM
@Mrcool "The Phantom" was the same scooper who gave them the absolutely legit "Terminator" shortlists before sites like Variety and Deadline jumped on board with the same candidates.

He's also the same scooper who was among the first to reveal that Wonder Woman was one of the female roles that actresses were vying for in Batman vs. Superman.

So I, the guy who always shits on rumors and those who post them, am ready to believe him.
BubblesShedAndBreakfast - 12/4/2013, 5:16 PM
They need to just do a new animated movie with the original actors providing the voices. No thanks to this reboot type relaunch/remake sequel thing with Jonah Hill!
TyrantBossMedia - 12/4/2013, 5:41 PM
They should just make a Ghostbusters where they hunt the ghost of their already dad Third movie.
SaxoWolf - 12/4/2013, 5:51 PM
this movie again??

DUCKBOY - 12/4/2013, 6:00 PM
If sequels kil the originals then y I'm I still watching die hard all the time
TelaVizion - 12/4/2013, 6:18 PM
If they do this, it should be based off of the last cartoon series. One of the originals was teaching and training college students as the new busters
RetroFit - 12/4/2013, 6:18 PM
I cannot stand Jonah Hill. Ghostbusters is my 2nd favourite movie of all time behind 'The Empire Strikes Back' and I'd rather they didn't make it than make something actually worse than 'Ghostbusters 2'. No wonder Bill Murray doesn't want anything to do with it. I heard even George Lucas snickered into his beard about this movie...and that's saying something...

Let it Go
ds9epicfan - 12/4/2013, 6:20 PM
No matter who's in it,it won't have the same heart and soul of the 1st 2 movies.Too bad,was looking forward to the sequel(which should of happened 20 years ago)!
ShreckGT350 - 12/4/2013, 7:16 PM
I wish it was Jonah Hill out and Emma Stone in! If they'd call me, I'd do it for free!
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 12/4/2013, 8:13 PM
Fawk Emma Stone and fawk this movie!!! I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan but fawk man I'm tired of all the dick teases. Either do the fawking more or not.
guillimunster - 12/4/2013, 8:21 PM
not everyone can be as good looking as all of you.
manofmidgard - 12/4/2013, 9:36 PM
this movie will never happen. if murray and akroyd aren't in it, it should never happen.
mgeoff88 - 12/4/2013, 10:37 PM
Damn, GB3 keeps running into problems. As much as I would like to see a Ghostbusters sequel, it's hard to get excited for it without Bill Murray on board.

'Just give the rights back to Marvel Studios'

^This!! I laughed more than I should!
jimoakley666 - 12/5/2013, 1:03 AM
No Venkman, no shits to give.
SuperSomething616 - 12/5/2013, 1:18 AM
Zero interest in this film now...just let it die and leave the originals as they are...amazing films and pieces of cinematic history...
MightyZeus - 12/5/2013, 3:07 AM
Just give up on making this movie because it's not going to happen.

Just let the originals be.
Boogie138 - 12/5/2013, 6:38 AM
damn haters. GB3 must happen, I've waited too long!!! damn haters...
HunterTheKraven - 12/5/2013, 6:57 AM
play the ghostbusters game and get over it like the rest of us
nickh0801 - 12/5/2013, 7:19 AM
Yeah, because Jonah Hill and Emma Stone are the only two "big name stars" in Hollywood. It's doomed to fail if they both pass it up! I'm pretty sure they can find two others to take their place, unless the scrip it total shit, which is probably the reason Emma said no
campblood - 12/5/2013, 9:05 AM
cast joel mchale as the new Peter venkman type character , Jonah as the ray , Donald glover as the new Winston and I'm not sure who for the new egon
DukeAcureds - 12/5/2013, 9:39 AM
That's a shame, Emma Stone is perfect. I would have been awesome if she were to be a ghostbuster. Ah well, at least we still have her as a ghostbuster at the end of Zombieland.
I think they should have an all-female ghostbusters team, this time around. Because I really can't think of any star-name males that would fit the bill.

I would suggest:

Mary Elizabeth Winstead

as the Spengler-archetype,

Ellen Page

as the Stanz-archetype,

Kat Dennings

as the Venkman-archetype,

and Jennifer Lawrence

as the Zeddemore-archetype.

Gotta say, I called the Jonah Hill thing years ago when they first announced the movie. Except I thought it'd be the entire Judd Apatow clan of worthless, no-talent actors.

Jonah Hill's "acting" is nothing but saying what just happened. I hope so badly he turns this down. He sucks.
odie00 - 12/5/2013, 2:57 PM
I think the original cast should come back and make it seem like they have been sticking to ghost bustin for a while. Do one last save the city moment and then at the end of the film show them calling out new recruits to take over. Honestly a lot of you guys are suggesting ridiculous actors for the part. Ghostbusters isn't your Judd Apatow movie, or over the top comedy that Will Ferrell usually ends up doing. Yeah its a comedy but theres a lot of science fiction in it and all the Ghostbusters (including Peter in his own way) are intelligent. Peter is the funniest one and his humor is realistic. They're scientists for crying out loud. The closet thing to Ghostbusters I saw was Ivan Reitmans Evolution. Orlando Jones and David Duchovny to me felt like they could have been Ghostbusters in that movie.
odie00 - 12/5/2013, 3:00 PM
@DukeAcureds- You should slap your damn self for even suggesting an all female cast. I love women like the next straight guy, but I don't want to see that crap. Thats like saying there should be all female Ninja Turtles.
