GREEN LANTERN Screenwriter Hired To Pen PROMETHEUS 2

GREEN LANTERN Screenwriter Hired To Pen PROMETHEUS 2

Jeff Sneider of The Wrap reports that Michael Green, who worked on Warner Bros.' Green Lantern and The Flash movie scripts, has been hired to write Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel.

According to Jeff Sneider of The Wrap, screenwriter Michael Green has been hired to write the Prometheus sequel. He'll be taking over for Jack Paglen (“Transcendence”) who wrote the original draft. When will we see this film? Well, the other day Fox announced that an untitled Ridley Scott film will be released March 4, 2016, and sources for The Wrap have verified that the date is for Prometheus 2. The sequel is said to be a priority as Fox is ignoring all the criticism that was placed on the original and just staring at the $400 million the R-rated film grossed worldwide. As for Green, he worked on screenplays for Green Lantern, The Flash (film), Smallville, Heroes, and is still finishing the new Blade Runner script that he began working on last year for Ridley Scott.
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba and Charlize Theron
Director: Ridley Scott * Writers: Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof

No Lindelof, thank God.
JoeMomma29 - 3/24/2014, 3:41 PM
Yay! I know I am one of the few who actually enjoyed this movie!
aXe - 3/24/2014, 3:43 PM
I'm very interested in where they'll take this
Desrow - 3/24/2014, 3:46 PM

HavocPrime - 3/24/2014, 3:47 PM

Nubase - 3/24/2014, 3:47 PM
i want this movie to happen, finally we will get the true prequel to alien they should of went with in the beginning but it was lindlof who persuaded scott to make prometheus while in pre production
ScorpioRisin - 3/24/2014, 3:49 PM
I loved the first one (mostly for Ridley's direction), but I agree it was unnecessarily "mysterious" in parts and the characters all acted like retards. I hope they improve on it this time around.
DaVinci31 - 3/24/2014, 3:50 PM
I just want to know where Shaw and David end up.
AlphaMasterFlex - 3/24/2014, 3:51 PM
Wasn't the first Prometheus shitty enough? Now from one of the writers of one of the biggest CBM jokes in recent years. Derp

You're picture goes with your comment.

Before you all bitch about them hiring a Green Lantern writer, the script went through about 4 other writers as well which is always disastrous.

ManofSteel23 - 3/24/2014, 3:58 PM
hated the first one
Humperdink - 3/24/2014, 3:59 PM
From bad, to worse. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Neither movie was good.

Whatever though...I'm still hyped up over X-men and seeing Bishop in that hot trailer.

BatmanHeisenberg - 3/24/2014, 4:00 PM
Ha! That's like getting the writer for Batman and Robin to write The Last Airbender 2! HA!
DrDoom - 3/24/2014, 4:01 PM
Prometheus is one of the dumbest 'smart' sci-fi movies I've ever seen. What a monumental let down.
ALmazing - 3/24/2014, 4:02 PM
I'm glad they are finally moving forward with this but Green Lantern writer?
BatmanHeisenberg - 3/24/2014, 4:03 PM
And a casting call, and a interview with Goyer, matti. Why are you so [frick]ing foul over DC matters?
DVonShakari - 3/24/2014, 4:04 PM
Uhhh, I thought Prometheus was actually really good.....I'm kinda hyped to see the sequel
damntree - 3/24/2014, 4:05 PM
@Joe - One of the many.
themidnightking - 3/24/2014, 4:05 PM
What the [frick] is this shit!
JamesMan - 3/24/2014, 4:06 PM
-sits back in chair-

Prometheus is one of the best sci-fi films within the past twenty years.

-sips juice box-

BIGBMH - 3/24/2014, 4:06 PM
Didn't think I could lose any more interest. I didn't like the first Prometheus. Now The GL writer is on board? Wow. A new level of unappealing.

LeeroyJenkins - 3/24/2014, 4:07 PM
prometheus was awesome. i loved how it left you thinking about so many possibilities
NoAssemblyReqd - 3/24/2014, 4:07 PM
PROMETHEUS was a step in a better direction for the series, but it was decidedly not a home run. (I'm looking at you, one-dimensional alien-bait characters!)

I'm amazed it took more than 25 years to make an ALIEN movie that wasn't a total spit in the face to the first 2 movies in series. I recognize that by writing that I'm only inviting the PROMETHEUS haters, but what the hell...
Humperdink - 3/24/2014, 4:07 PM
Time for a refresher...

TheRedSkull - 3/24/2014, 4:09 PM
This movie is incredibly underrated as it was compared too much to Alien/ Aliens. The CGI was outstanding, as was the cast. I'm all for expanding the story, so bring it on!
DVonShakari - 3/24/2014, 4:09 PM
The guess at Honest Trailers are gaining notoriety for doing what most trolls do in here all day long.....
Dandy - 3/24/2014, 4:10 PM
It was filled with plot holes but when you look back on Alien 3, Alien Ressurrection, Alien vs. Predator, and Alien vs. Predator was a huge step in the right direction.

It had enough for me to enjoy even if the story was lax.
BatmanHeisenberg - 3/24/2014, 4:10 PM
Yeah, the story and script were silly and weird, but I loved Fassbender's performance...
Platinum - 3/24/2014, 4:11 PM
The first was such a letdown and now this? I could now cross this franchise off my list now.
ThePowerCosmic - 3/24/2014, 4:13 PM
Dear god noooooo!
MediaMan - 3/24/2014, 4:13 PM
Prometheus was an insult to the intelligence of a tree stump. The second one would have to be literally, pardon the expression, light-years better to get me to go see it.
Inhuman - 3/24/2014, 4:13 PM
The black goo must come from a planet that creates Xenomorphs. The Predators knew about the planet since they captured eggs and a Queen, and the Engineers knew about it from exploration. They should def show the home world of the Xenomorphs
WombRaider - 3/24/2014, 4:13 PM
ThePowerCosmic - 3/24/2014, 4:14 PM
I loved Prometheus. Thought it was everything it should have been.
Aero909 - 3/24/2014, 4:15 PM
the biggest news here is that someone named Michael GREEN worked on GREEN Lantern, that's Marc Webb/Spidey levels of weird coincidence. bet he brags about it at parties
PeterDarker121 - 3/24/2014, 4:21 PM
.....SOOOOoooo the ONLY scribe they could find in ALL of Hollywood to continue the written legacy of one of the most important Sci-Fi franchises of ALL time is Michael Green/Lantern?

Humperdink - 3/24/2014, 4:21 PM
The guess at Honest Trailers are gaining notoriety for doing what most trolls do in here all day long.....

That's not trolling, though.
It's a combination of criticism and satire.

It's easier to call someone a troll rather than refute the legitimate positions they give regarding a movies failures.

Trolling doesn't mean criticizing a subject. That would make anyone who complains, criticizes, or scrutinizes anything a troll.

Crack out that internet handbook and look into it.
