Hugh Jackman Sports A Mullet For His Role In Neill Blomkamp's CHAPPIE

The first BTS image from the Elysium director's next sci-fi flick has been released, and gives us an up close an personal look at The Wolverine himself rocking a slight, but still not very flattering Mullet! Take a look after the jump.

"After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot."

Jackman joins Sigourney Weaver, Ninja and Yolandi Visser of Die Antwoord, Dev Patel and Sharlto Copley who will play Chappie via motion capture. Chappie is a partnership between Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital, and is based on Blomkamp's short film Tetra Vaal, which you can see below. The film is currently slated for release on March 27th, 2015.

District 9 was awesome. Elysium was pretty meh and riddled with plot/logic holes.
Reasonnnn - 1/8/2014, 9:30 PM
District 9 = great
Elysium = biggest disappointment of the year, next to Star Trek Into Darkness.

Still looking forward to this though.

Hellboy6666 - 1/8/2014, 9:33 PM
Elysium was my second biggest let down this year behind MOS (yeah I said it) I loved district 9 and expected another unique film with amazing action...what we got was a fairly trite plot and more $&cking shaky cam. Chappie better be pretty [frick]ing amazing or Blomkamp is off my radar.
Jollem - 1/8/2014, 9:33 PM
elysium = great

into darkness = great

iron man 3 = biggest disappointment of the year
Jollem - 1/8/2014, 9:34 PM
elysium had better action, acting, story, plot, music, cgi, set design, costumes, etc. than iron man 3
Ramiel - 1/8/2014, 9:47 PM

jimoakley666 - 1/8/2014, 10:51 PM
Looking forward to this. I think Jackman would be a good fit with Blomkamp as a director.
BrownandYellowWolvie - 1/8/2014, 11:24 PM

Selonian - 1/9/2014, 2:06 AM
Can't wait! Elysium was good but District 9 was better. But Elysium was better than Man of Steel and Iron Man 3.

plasticman - 1/9/2014, 6:29 AM
My brother's nickname is "Chappie" and he sports a way better mullet than that. That ain't no lie.
Salemdog - 1/9/2014, 6:33 AM
I live in the south and that's not even close to a mullet. What Nomis showed was true to form.

@nicipoo... What kind ekse ?
fettastic - 1/9/2014, 11:54 AM
I equate Blomkamp with Aranofsky. Both have genius in them, but have yet to make their masterpiece. With each successive film they get closer, but it's a bit frustrating.

At least Aranofsky keeps jumping genres (to be fair I haven't seen Black Swan). Blomkamp seems to want to keep remaking the same film so far. This still does nothing to dispell that he's doing it again.
norseman79 - 1/9/2014, 8:32 PM
Hope it's better than Elysium.
