Are We Gonna Hear Katy Perry Roar The JURASSIC WORLD Theme Song?

According to Pop Music Gadfly, pop superstar Katy Perry has been approached to sing the theme song to the next Jurassic Park film. Plus, Indian actor Irrfan Khan shares a brief but important detail about his Jurassic World character. Check it out.

Pop Music Gadfly is reporting that chart topper Katy Perry, who is best known for her hit singles "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold," has been asked to sing the theme song to Jurassic World. The film's director, Colin Trevorrow, is said to be a big fan of the pop-sensation, and is even considering her for a cameo in the film.
The new Jurassic Park movie is coming out in 2015, and guess who has been asked to sing the theme song? That’s right (all you had to do was look at the title), it’s pop music goddess Katy Perry. Director Colin Trevorrow is a HUGE Katy Perry fan and is optimistic that she will sing the theme song and possibly even appear in the movie.

However, I am told that as much as it would be an honor for Katy Perry to sing the theme song, 2015 will most likely be her year off. - Pop Music Gadfly

Update: One of the film's producers has debunked the rumor.

Late last month, Deadline reported that Irrfan Khan had landed a role in Jurassic World, but at the time had no details to share. Recently Khan was interviewed by APB Live and he shared nice little nugget of info:
"We start filming from April in New Orleans and Hawaii. I have watched the first one. Because it is a (Steven) Spielberg production and the kind of writing they do, amazing. One scene of mine is just four lines but it says so much about so many things. I play a park owner." - Irrfan Khan

Jurassic World is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, from a screenplay written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. The story is set 22 years after the events of the first film. The cast includes: Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), Irrfan Khan ("The Amazing Spider-Man"), Vincent D’Onofrio ("Men In Black"), Bryce Dallas Howard ("Spider-Man 3"), Ty Simpkins ("Iron Man 3") and Nick Robinson ("The Kings Of Summer").
Jurassic World stomps into theaters June 12th, 2015.

It would probably some tranquil, peaceful song. Akin to the Hobbit and how they get singers for the credits.

*Phew* Thank God it's not true! lol I love Katty Perry but Jurassic Park has a "theme"! Get Zimmer, Jackmoan or Ottoman to add some tweaks to it and BAM!!

Could you all imagine the 90's X-Men Cartoon done with Zimmer's horns? Sweet Phoenix!! :,)

Don't thank me, thank Jurassic Park for the rumor.

And Dannyboy, you know an article like this is tailor made for such things. Don't hate, [email protected]
JediPhilosopher - 3/16/2014, 8:28 PM
Yeah, this is a bizarre rumor. Movies like Jurassic Park have orchestral themes. They just aren't the right kind of movies to work with pop music of any sort.
Indy - 3/16/2014, 8:33 PM
I hope they get John Williams back to score this film but I wonder if he be able too because he going to do star wars 7 that comes out in 2015 too.
l0rdleg0las - 3/16/2014, 9:48 PM
Aside from the body there really is not much to like about her. Marginally talented as a singer and beyond that who cares?

On the rumor though. Since when does Jurassic Park have a Bond movie like Theme Song? It has always just been the orchestral score.
jambabeanjuice - 3/16/2014, 9:52 PM
Definitely not gonna happen. But I don't mind some cream form Katy ;) she looks soo damn tasty!

jimoakley666 - 3/17/2014, 1:23 AM
Bullshit. But, [frick] me, she IS gorgeous.
Bloodraven - 3/17/2014, 3:44 AM
I've said it before and I'll say it again, can't she just quit music and have a career everyone can enjoy her in e.g. porn?

Anyway, if they are gonna give it a theme song can't they just do the cliched thing and get Chris Cornell? Everyone does it these days, but the dude has a shitload of talent.

Pasto - 3/17/2014, 5:11 AM
Mother of pearl. Please don't let this happen.....please....
Prime - 3/17/2014, 5:29 AM
She needs to let those 2 dinosaurs get a little fresh air.
SimyJo - 3/17/2014, 7:00 AM
