Bizarre Concept Art From The Scrapped JURASSIC PARK IV

Bizarre Concept Art From The Scrapped JURASSIC PARK IV

A fourth Jurassic Park is said to be in the works, but the following human/dinosaur hybrid concept designs are from the version that was planned with the John Sayles script from a few years back that never saw the light of day. Probably not hard to see why..

These concept designs from artist Carlos Huante are from the John Sayles scripted version of Jurassic Park IV that we will never see. That story featured these genetically engineered human-dinosaur-dog hybrids (di-hu-ogs) that were also super smart gun-toting mercenaries. Now don't get me wrong, I actually think some of the designs are pretty cool, and the idea sounds like it could make for a good movie, but a Jurassic Park movie? Nobody seems too sure how far into production the movie actually got, but according to Huante as soon as the Amblin Entertainment brass saw these designs, they shut down the project almost immediately..

As I said, there is currently another Jurassic Park IV script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver out there (probably not featuring gun-toting T-Rexs) but no solid info on when or if it will go into production.

Wasn't this supposed to have raptors with machine guns?
StarSpangledBruce - 10/9/2012, 5:11 PM
Amazing Spider-Man sorta did this.
Viltrumite - 10/9/2012, 5:12 PM
I remember reading about this a few years back, and reading the details over the phone to my friend. We both died laughing.
As much as this looks like the worst idea ever, I can't help but want to see it excruciatingly badly.

Did someone mention raptors with machine guns?

Viltrumite - 10/9/2012, 5:36 PM
Wait, is that a T-Rex/human crossbreed with proportionate-length arms and presumably higher intelligence than its stumpy-armed brethren?
...well, humanity had a good run
LP4 - 10/9/2012, 5:39 PM
This actually looks pretty intriguing. But i admit, as a huge fan of the first 3 films (mainly the first 2) this concept definitely would not have fit in well with the franchise.
theInvincibleMexiMan - 10/9/2012, 5:39 PM
I'm with Grif. This is completely ridiculous and I couldnt imagine the JP people thinking this would be a good idea.

is there really a clamoring for another jurassic park film?

didn't they already say all that needed to be said about genetically engineered dino's in the first 3 films?
santoanderson - 10/9/2012, 5:44 PM
Source = Reddit;

Not sure where it came from before that.
RorMachine - 10/9/2012, 5:48 PM

This is obviously concept art for the upcoming Michael Bay film reboot of the old Dinosaucers cartoon...obviously...
MartianSupermanhunter22 - 10/9/2012, 6:02 PM

OriginalGuardiansPlease - 10/9/2012, 6:09 PM
wasnt "A sounds of thunder" kind of like that (except with time travel). I never understood why the average rating on the movie was so low...the movie wasn't great but it was a fun movie to watch...may i liked it because i tend to love time travel movies
OriginalGuardiansPlease - 10/9/2012, 6:11 PM
if you guys want to watch the closest thing to antoher jurassic park (without the human hybrid elements) out there have a look at the Carnosaur movies....B movies at their finest
Lazenca - 10/9/2012, 6:12 PM
Di-hu-ogs??? Who in their right mind would want to make a theme park full of gun totting dinos? How big would the guns be and what purpose would they have been made for. As intriguing as it sounds, I still think it was just too much.

Jurassic park 4: dino gunnam style
jimpinto24 - 10/9/2012, 6:15 PM
Good concept art, but I can't see these creatures in JP4!? JP is about dinosaurs. Not vampire looking creatures! WTF???

Originator2000 - 10/9/2012, 6:43 PM
This reminds me of Alien: Resurrection. The human/alien hybrid, the dinosaur/human hybrid. Resurrection was a bad film and if this were made it would've been bad too.
DrRockso - 10/9/2012, 6:46 PM
They need to put a big ol dick n'balls on'em
CorndogBurglar - 10/9/2012, 6:57 PM
All you guys doubting that this os for JP4 because you dont think would letit go to this...

The movie got scrapped, so they DIDN'T let it get to this.
zachman2013 - 10/9/2012, 6:59 PM
Well, either The Amazing Spiderman took these designs and made them look less like rape victims or these are as effed up as it can get.
ThePowerCosmic - 10/9/2012, 7:13 PM
No guys they actually made this film a few years ago:

mgeoff88 - 10/9/2012, 7:15 PM
Amblin Entertainment made a very smart decision. This movie would've killed the JP movie franchise!

Human-dino hybrid mercenaries for a JP movie? LOL! What the hell were these people thinking!?
jjk2814 - 10/9/2012, 7:35 PM
I question the legitimacy of this. Maybe I'm wrong, but I also doubt it got this far along in the design process before it got shut down.
JorLBola - 10/9/2012, 7:49 PM
That can't be true... If in some moment it was, Obviously they rejected that idea
jessepostal - 10/9/2012, 7:51 PM
Def could not see Spielberg backing this
ATrueHero1987 - 10/9/2012, 7:55 PM
Lmfao!! That is so [frick]ing stupid!ahahaha
XxComablackxX1937 - 10/9/2012, 7:58 PM
I remember reading about this way back in the day... It looks interesting i admit but not for Jurassic park.

This is something you'd see like in ''Alien Resurrection'' or a SYFY Original film with a budget.

I'd pay to see it out of curiosity though.

how do you not have the minotaur/centaur version of these? these are cool. someone should make this movie but it should stay far-far away from the JP franchise.
