Could We Be Seeing A Real Jurassic Park Soon?

Why see a 3D re-release, when you can see the real thing?

Rumors are currently going around that Australian business man Clive Palmer is said to be attempting to develop a real-life Jurassic Park. Numerous reports say that the billionaire is working with the people who successfully cloned Dolly the sheep. He hopes they can use the same process, but with dinosaur DNA. Clive Palmer is also planning to build a 21st century replica of the Titanic. It is unsure if any of these plans will really come together, but we will just have to wait and see.

ManofSteel23 - 8/1/2012, 5:38 PM
lol ok,you cant make a dinosaur just out of dna,and you would need a shit load of dna,and dna of alot of dinosaurs and something to lay dinosaur eggs...say im wrong, the plus would anyone really want to see dinosaurs...after what happens in the film lol
sansClaymore - 8/1/2012, 5:39 PM
hope they make a bunch of freak mutated dino monsters that screw up the whole austrailian eco system like bart simpson and the frogs lol
BarnaclePete - 8/1/2012, 5:41 PM
This would be amazing
sansClaymore - 8/1/2012, 5:46 PM
they tried taking elephants and changing them into mammoths,by making a hyrid elephant mammoth using the cloning tehnique. after the hybrid was born it would look like a regular elephant, then somehow they breed out the elephant dna and let the mammoth dna take over, it would take several generations of breeding the animals to get the eventual mammoth baby, but they claim its possible.

what is the closest relative to dinosaurs? birds? plenty of different kinds of birds to pick from but is there any dino dna that woud work with a modern bird to get the same results?

It would be cool, but it wouldn't work if they did it the same way it was done in the movies. The DNA is too old, too decayed, and there is too little of it left in existence.

However, they it is possible to create a dinosaur-like animal by reverse engineering birds to give them traits of there dinosaurs ancestors.

Watch this video of paleontologist Jack Horner explaining how this works.

I think someone needs to post Dr.Malcolm's rant as to how nature chose these. Reatures to die from the original JP. Just saying.
xBlaze96x - 8/1/2012, 9:12 PM
Wait....didn't the movie show us why we shouldn't do this? I kid of course, that could be pretty awesome if it happens.

Dinosaurs mustn't be brought back
patriautism - 8/1/2012, 10:15 PM
He could go the Muhammad Yunus route, and use his money to better humanity, but no he wants to blow it on impossibility.
Not to mention, a dinosaur probably couldn't survive in a today's much lower oxygen atmosphere, and I'm pretty sure the scientists that he is working closely with know that.
Sanderman - 8/1/2012, 10:33 PM
@sansclaymore I was thinking birds and alligators
redsoxdude - 8/2/2012, 12:02 AM

EarOne - 8/2/2012, 4:24 AM

CoulsonLives - 8/2/2012, 5:45 AM
We're so screwed
hellfire - 8/2/2012, 7:20 AM
I can see it now. Arrange for your kids Birthday Party down to the local Jurassic Petting Zoo. Have them ride on the on Mitsy the cuddly T-Rex and watch in awe as your wife is torn limb from limb by a very horny Triceratops. After all folks you'd save a fortune compared to going through with that messy divorce you're planning. So if you hurry on down now we'll give you 50% off your first booking.
VIRILEMAN - 8/2/2012, 11:40 PM
I've always heard that they don't think this is a good idea because they could bring back a 100 million year old disease that would kill us all.
VIRILEMAN - 8/2/2012, 11:45 PM
I meant disease or virus or bacteria, that our bodies have never had to deal with. Like how the pilgrims brought over new diseases that the native americans contracted.
xMichaelxScottx - 8/3/2012, 12:57 PM
This business man obviously hasnt seen the movies. All the dinosaurs escaped. P.S. They killed people
