Life, Uh... Finds A Way! Bryce Dallas Howard Has Real Scare On JURASSIC WORLD Set

Spoiler warning! Bryce Dallas Howard had encountered a real-life scare on the set of Jurassic World. The details of what happened do contain spoilers about the film. You've been warned.

Filming for Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World is currently taking place in Hawaii. According to a source for Showbizspy, one of the stars of the film, Bryce Dallas Howard ("Spider-Man 3"), encountered a real-life scare when a scene involving a animatronic dinosaur went very, very wrong due to an ill-timed power outage.
The actress was on location in Hawaii shooting a scene inside the jaws of a giant dinosaur attempting to eat her, when a sudden power failure trapped her inside the monster’s closed metal mouth! “Bryce found herself surrounded by wires and machinery used to operate the dinosaur’s jaws and started screaming, ‘Please, get me out of here!’ The crew, working feverishly to pry the jaws open without damaging the mechanical beast, kept assuring Bryce she’d be fine,” a source said. “But it took 15 minutes of hard work before they finally pried the beast’s mouth open and pulled her to safety.”

Jurassic World is being directed by Colin Trevorrow, from a screenplay written by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. The story is set 22 years after the events of the first film. The cast includes: Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), Irrfan Khan ("The Amazing Spider-Man"), Vincent D’Onofrio ("Men In Black"), Bryce Dallas Howard ("Spider-Man 3"), Ty Simpkins ("Iron Man 3"), Judy Greer ("Two And A Half Men"), Katie McGrath ("Dracula"), Lauren Lapkus ("Orange is the New Black") and Nick Robinson ("The Kings Of Summer").

Jurassic World stomps into theaters June 12th, 2015.

Man, no description of the dinosaur that was eating her??

Cool to know they're using animatronic dinosaurs though. CGI is good and all, but nothing beats good ol' fashioned practical effects. That's a huge part of why the Jurassic Park movies look much more awesome and realistic than modern-day blockbusters that are filled to the brim with CGI.

Nice 😏
JoJo1982 - 5/13/2014, 2:03 PM
They should use that scene for the movie

Real fear
JoJo1982 - 5/13/2014, 2:04 PM

Yessir jurassic park 1 is aging pretty well cause of this
JordanKing - 5/13/2014, 2:04 PM
I love the fact they were more concerned with not damaging any of the machinery than trying to get her safe.
CherryBomb - 5/13/2014, 2:04 PM
Aww poor Bryce!
I get bad claustrophobia, I'd hate to be in that situation!
OpticBlastWins - 5/13/2014, 2:11 PM
where king kong when you need him
GareBear36 - 5/13/2014, 2:12 PM
Animatronics? Too expensive to resign the same dinosaurs from first films?

How funny, she used to yell the same thing when she was locked in my basement! But seriously she's really [frick]ing hot.
Slider13 - 5/13/2014, 2:43 PM
So she'll somehow find herself inside the mouth of a large dinosaur but not be chewed up and swallowed? Who does she think she is, Simon MacCorkindale from JAWS 3D?
thing94 - 5/13/2014, 2:45 PM
@ BloodyMess LOL

WinterSoldier24 - 5/13/2014, 3:47 PM

MrSotoMan - 5/13/2014, 4:31 PM

TheAbomination - 5/13/2014, 5:09 PM
Call me an asshole, but that's hilarious.
Comedian03 - 5/13/2014, 5:13 PM
Soooo, how is this gonna play out in the film? Like what situation is her character going to be in that she's going to be in the jaws of a vicious man-eating dinosaur, but not be killed? Or maybe she does die and they were filming her death scene when this happened.
Logan5 - 5/13/2014, 5:25 PM
I thought this was going to be the "man in suit" baby T-Rex or Raptor that's been popping up in public places and scaring the crap out of people. That guy looks good enough; just digitally remove the exposed human leg portions that only exist to enable fluid lifelike motion. The DP gets the best lighting. The audience gets a believable creature and stays in the narrative. Some will get boners. Everybody wins!
Logan5 - 5/13/2014, 5:27 PM
Sincerely sucks to hear. Hope she isn't claustrophobic!
Indy - 5/13/2014, 6:20 PM
Frank marshall said this is BS on his Twitter so its fake.
shaunmagg - 5/13/2014, 6:28 PM
Thanks for the spoiler warning because who would of thought dinosaurs were going to try to eat people in this movie
ThrotTheUnclean - 5/13/2014, 8:31 PM
I'm sure it helped her get into her character more. She will make that death scene look more real, because she lived. lol
ThrotTheUnclean - 5/13/2014, 8:31 PM
Yeah! WTF Spoiler!!
MightyZeus - 5/13/2014, 9:21 PM
That actually does sound scary. I feel sorry for the actress.

Although i am happy that the studio is using practical effects rather than just purely focusing on using cgi.
LensmanMatt92 - 5/13/2014, 10:05 PM
So finally after three movies a woman gets eaten.
Spock0Clock - 5/14/2014, 12:07 AM
Grow up, Bryce. I know your daddy used to be on Happy Days, but that's no excuse to cop an attitude just because a few tons of jagged metal in the shape of evolution's most perfect killing machine malfunctions while you're inside it.

Why, in my day, if you left an actor in a prop too long, they'd have their mail forwarded to it and have two roommates living inside by Monday.
JediPhilosopher - 5/14/2014, 3:52 AM
My guess? It was something big and probably not herbivorous.
JediPhilosopher - 5/14/2014, 3:53 AM
Actually, what worse way to go, eaten by an herbivore.. :P
TBobshandlebar - 5/14/2014, 4:20 AM
Can someone post a gif of peewee herman watching sitting with Simone in the dinosaur, or the one where the dino eats his bike! I just cant get that done!
Mulder15 - 5/14/2014, 5:29 AM
It's fake.
Fun1gUy - 5/14/2014, 5:57 AM
NOICE, they should use that, it'll translate on the screen very well
