Not Bad. But I've Seen Better.
Remember how awesome the original Alien Poster was!
SonOfOdor - 4/23/2014, 3:32 PM
I'm really digging this
DrDoom - 4/23/2014, 3:34 PM
Good art. Shit movie.

Handsome Squidward.
ManofSteel23 - 4/23/2014, 3:47 PM
Even the alien on that wall was pointless, put there as a reference to keep the fans happy it seems, just so it can actually be called some sort of alien prequel
DrDoom - 4/23/2014, 3:52 PM

I love Watchmen . . . .
sameoldthing - 4/23/2014, 3:53 PM
Very flawed movie that was very entertaining anyway.
pickleweasel2 - 4/23/2014, 3:57 PM
Watchmen is one of the best comic book movies made.......
InfiniteMonkey - 4/23/2014, 3:58 PM
This movie was cool at first.

Then you realise it wasn't that profound at all.
Loads of shit just didn't make sense.

Idiot writer.
Humperdink - 4/23/2014, 4:02 PM
Every movie is worse in retrospect.

I actually hated Prometheus while I was watching it for the first time.
MexicanSexyman - 4/23/2014, 4:18 PM
I liked Prometheus. Yea some parts are dumb but almost every movie have dumb parts in them. I never seen any of the Alien films, well maybe parts here and there.
GodzillaKart - 4/23/2014, 4:19 PM
That show isn't worthy of a poster. That film was so [frick]ing stupid that it made me angry while watching it. I almost didn't enjoy my popcorn. Almost.
MexicanSexyman - 4/23/2014, 4:20 PM
What DrDoom liked a cbm that wasn't Marvel Studios? I am shocked.
GodzillaKart - 4/23/2014, 4:23 PM
Prometheus and Man of Steel were both films I was incredibly excited about, but let me down hard.

Much as I didn't like looked like Citizen Cane next to Prometheus.
ThePowerCosmic - 4/23/2014, 4:27 PM
Just calling it an Alien prequel was enough to get this film criticized up and down. No way it could ever live up to that classic in peoples minds.

Loved Prometheus for what it was and that poster is freaking awesome.
AsianVersionOfET - 4/23/2014, 4:27 PM
This isn't my favorite film of all time, but I really enjoyed it. I think what caused most of my, disappointment, I guess you could say, was having Alien come out before it, so the bar was raised very high, impossibly high. If Alien were never made and then this just came out on it's own, I think myself, as well as others, may have enjoyed it a lot more. Sweet poster also.
Enki - 4/23/2014, 5:00 PM
Is H.R. Giger still around? I would like to see his take on the Engineers.
Asterisk - 4/23/2014, 5:21 PM
JamesMan - 4/23/2014, 5:31 PM
Pretty sure Scott came out and said that this wasn't a prequel. He's right, in many terms it isn't. This movie did what comic book have been doing for ages, make a story that exists in the same universe as another franchise but is not a direct prequel, sequel, or tie-in to it. Prometheus' focus was on the Engineer's, not the Xenomorphs. For [frick]s sake, the big connection it makes to Alien is with the Deacon Alien at the end and even then that is a DISTANT ancestor to the xeno's. I can't help but love a sci-fi film that actually has a genuine feeling of marveling at discovery, interesting technology, and even brings up religious debate. It's so far the one in a million decent straight up sci-fi films in the past decade.
CCR - 4/23/2014, 5:57 PM

Well said. Too many people want to connect the dots when they should be concentrating on what's put in front of them. Watch out, here comes GojiraFlatulence with his holier-than-thou b.s.
TheOverlord - 4/23/2014, 7:10 PM
I hated Prometheus the first time I watched it, but then I found myself wanting to watch it again just to remind myself how bad it was and I found I actually enjoyed it. I just watched it for a third time, and I liked it even more. It's not bad, it's just batshit crazy.
ThePowerCosmic - 4/23/2014, 7:20 PM

Agreed! Well said.
MightyZeus - 4/23/2014, 7:30 PM
Great art. Good movie.

Bring on the sequel.

It's a film that challenges the audience to think for themselves which is what i think more films should do. I just think people went in with the wrong mind set when going to see the film.
DrDoom - 4/23/2014, 7:37 PM
The movie was ruined by bullshit science, confusing character motivations, and a nonsense plot.

I don't understand how anyone can consider it a 'good' science-fiction movie when it fails so hard at both science and fiction.
case - 4/23/2014, 7:41 PM
"Groundbreaking mythology". Hardly...

I [frick]en loved Prometheus. I will be super stoked if we get another one.
FerFogs - 4/23/2014, 8:03 PM
Loved the movie. Judge me.
CCR - 4/23/2014, 8:11 PM

How in the f ck can you fail at fiction?!? And you detractors love comic book movies for the very reasons you don't like this one....hypocrites.
JamesMan - 4/23/2014, 8:29 PM
I think we're forgetting where the "fiction" part of Science Fiction comes in. I honestly have no clue how you can call bullshit on a science that was made for the movie and doesn't have many similarities to our own.

Character Motivations:
In it to discover alien life (Shaw & Holloway)
In it for money and job (the crew)
In it for the possibility of life (Weyland)
In it for greed (Vickers)
In it because of being programmed (David & Possibly Vickers)

Goes to look for alien life.
Finds alien life.
Leaves for alien's planet.
Dunejedi - 4/23/2014, 8:53 PM
This was the most disappointing film i've seen in the last few years. I was SO pumped for this flick and SO deflated after I saw it. I never thought Lindleof was very good, but I worshipped Ridley Scott. This movie makes me think the tank is dry. No interest in a sequel of this or Blade Runner.

The poster is kind of Meh.
case - 4/23/2014, 9:47 PM
My only slight nag was that it could have been either further removed from Alien or maybe pushed even closer to it like Spaight's original script apparently was. But again it's only a slight niggle and there's lots of wiggle room and an expanse of story telling territory they can make use of it we get the sequel.
case - 4/23/2014, 9:48 PM
Hey Fogs - as someone of obviously fine taste, how does Alien Resurrection sit with you?
Doppelganger - 4/23/2014, 10:01 PM
I also thought the movie was awesome. I don't like being spoon feed so I like keeping a movie with an open imagination and come with your own answers. Original Alien film was like that and no one complained. The phoney professions is another story but I guess that just makes the movie ore entertaining.
Cali - 4/23/2014, 10:27 PM
Good movie. A few stupid plot points. Great take on the origin of life in that universe. Opening sequence and musical score were fantastic. I'm just easy to please I guess...
Kyos - 4/24/2014, 3:22 AM
Stoll haven't seen Prometheus. I was very exctied about it at first, but didn't manage to catch it in the theater. Since then kind of negative response it got managed to scare me away. I'll watch it at some point, if only for the visuals.
GodzillaKart - 4/24/2014, 6:38 AM
Prometheus being connected to Alien doesn't influence how mind numbingly dumb the script just makes it sting more.
