New TV Spot For Guillermo del Toro's PACIFIC RIM Released

Warner Bros. have released the third domestic TV spot for Guillermo del Toro's highly anticipated monsters vs. robot epic, Pacific Rim. Hit the jump to check it out! "Haven't you heard? The world is coming to an end..."

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee — who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Why's Elba talking like that ffs, accent is so over the top in this, should be talking like he does in Luther, where it doesn't come across as forced and instead natural.

Elba is British I think...hence hi accent!
Ocelot - 6/7/2013, 5:30 PM

I know he's british and I know what he sounds like when he talks in a british accent, it doesn't sound so over the top like it does in this movie, it's like he's been told to put an extra emphasis on it when he talks, sounds forced.

Elba for Lex Luthor!!

I think it's because the TV spot is only just over 30 seconds long, so they cut the hell out of his dialogue, which makes it seem clipped.
