STAR WARS: Harrison Ford Wouldn't Mind Being Han Solo Once More

STAR WARS: Harrison Ford Wouldn't Mind Being Han Solo Once More

So the possible return of Luke Skywalker isn't ruled out, but what about the hard-boiled Han Solo? Seems like the actor portraying the iconic Millennium Falcon's pilot is open to tackling another film. Hit the jump for more.

Everything is still a bit in the future...a little far far away. After Disney acquired LucasFilm Ltd. the pot of rumores has been boiling like crazy. Previously Mark Hamill decided to share his thoughts on starring once more as the adventurous Luke Skywalker, and even George Lucas himself confirmed that he had a basic idea of how Skywalker could be featured once more. It turns out Hamill isn't the only one interested in possibly reprising his original Star Wars role. EW is now reporting that Harrison Ford might be interested in returning as the charming, and rough pilot, Han Solo, as well. Apparently all three essential cast members (of the original trilogy) are open to the idea of bringing the iconic characters back to the big screen.

“Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are,” said one highly placed source, referring to Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher, the trio that made a hyper-speed jump to global fame on May 25, 1977, the opening night for George Lucas’s original Star Wars film.

Nothing is set in stone. We'll just have to see how things develop. Doesn't seem too out of place to bring back a beloved character does it? Ford FTW? Click the link back to EW for the full story.

That would be Awesome but it also may not be true, we need to hear it from the horse's mouth, in my opinon all 3 of them should be locked in

As long as he gets paid
IDKwhatToChoose - 11/5/2012, 5:58 PM
Take Notice Disney Frick your "Original Story" idea and bring back Solo and the Skywalkers!!!!!
Cheeze187 - 11/5/2012, 5:58 PM
35 years old than the original trilogy, hope it's more of cameo's with some tron age cgi.

Well Leonard Nimoy made a successful appearance in the Star Trek reboot so it's possible.

Would love to see him reprise the role... if it's done juuuuusst right : )
dahamma - 11/5/2012, 6:05 PM
Heck yes there can only be one solo! I wouldn't mind seeing a cranky old Solo
XavierLehnsherr - 11/5/2012, 6:06 PM
It's riskier to bring back the old cast. Everyone will be pressured to meet the high expectations, that it will at least be as good as Empire Strikes Back.

It's best to start fresh. I'm personally tired of the Skywalkers.
vondoom29 - 11/5/2012, 6:06 PM
they have to get ol' lando back or it will flop.
i wish i knew how to post pics. there a good one involving billy dee and colt 45
marvel72 - 11/5/2012, 6:08 PM
it would be great if all three of them make an appearance even if its for just one movie.just so they can pass the torch to a new generation.

i can see the two droids returning & i would love to see chewie again.
vondoom29 - 11/5/2012, 6:08 PM
i hope they jump forward to the arc before fate of the jedi. im reading that right now and it references some really cool story lines. then they're aging would make sense
NoAssemblyReqd - 11/5/2012, 6:11 PM
In the OT, whenever there was a rebel briefing led by some old person, I wondered that his or her story was, and assumed we'd learn more about them in the prequels. Only Mon Mothma got a part in ROTS, and unfortunately she was cut out.

I bet that Luke and company will fill similar secondary roles in the new trilogy -- perhaps being pushed to the forefront for one last hurrah in Episode IX.

Holy cow, I can't believe I just typed Episode IX as a certainty, rather than as a dream! Bring it on!
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 11/5/2012, 6:12 PM
They are recasting the characters. He isn't going to be in it.
Greengo - 11/5/2012, 6:14 PM
It's a sad day for the CBM community :'(
Inohaku - 11/5/2012, 6:16 PM
Couldn't be more excited, bring them baaack!!!!!!!!!!!
NoAssemblyReqd - 11/5/2012, 6:17 PM
If Luke and co. are the main characters, they'd have to go the STAR TREK II - VI route, playing up the characters' grappling with their age. Might be fun if done right.
maxxgone - 11/5/2012, 6:18 PM
i agree with most: this trilogy cannot achieve its highest potential without including the core 3 in some capacity. i am well aware they cannot be the focus, but they must have a supporting role - something larger than a quick cameo. they must.

and @greengo

what makes you say grif was banned? did i miss something?
CoolantTech - 11/5/2012, 6:18 PM
@VonDoom25 here ya go

MJPETTY7 - 11/5/2012, 6:18 PM
@Greengo For who? lol

I would love for Harrison Ford to be in Episodes VII-IX!!! I think we need to see where Luck, Leia, Han, and Chewie all ended up, but I don't necessarily need them to be main characters. Their story ended perfectly in Episode VI, it's time for the next generation of Skywalkers. Bring on Ben!!!
pointman - 11/5/2012, 6:19 PM
I am actually excited. I really hope they all do this.
marvel72 - 11/5/2012, 6:22 PM
@ greengo

i can't believe it,he was never nasty to anyone he only said certain films were shit.

its certainly is a sad day,i can't believe his comments really upset people so much can't people just ignore him.

thanks to the users that got grif banned,he was a harmless troll & quite funny at times.

If Steven Spielberg directs then Ford would sign on for sure.
If they want SW7 out in 2015 they would need a director whos done it all and can run through pre production with ease.
Many people screaming for guys like Whedon, Nolan and others dont realize the magnitude of Pre Production on a Star Wars film, esecially a Star Wars film that is generations past SW6.
The Pre Production for Phantom Menace was horrible and it hurt all 3 films.
Greengo - 11/5/2012, 6:34 PM
@maxxgone: go to the Hall of Shame see for yourself

sexfoodcomics - 11/5/2012, 6:34 PM
As long as he shoots first!!!!

BlueDemon - 11/5/2012, 6:58 PM
Can we trade Wonderbread for Grif?
Shit decision!
Cheeze187 - 11/5/2012, 6:58 PM
Start a poll to unban Grif!
valeriesghost - 11/5/2012, 7:06 PM
That is bs about grif. He's been here forever and never fought with anyone. I thought a comment section is where you commented on an article. Guess that's not the case here.
SanFranLand - 11/5/2012, 7:07 PM
Harrison??? YES!!!!!

Grif? Shit news.
Pooh - 11/5/2012, 7:07 PM
It would be great to see one of Lucas's prodigal characters return. I think no one was more surprised with the success of Han Solo and Boba Fett than George Lucas. Time to let someone else give these characters the attention they deserve.
DrRockso - 11/5/2012, 7:08 PM
Three down, one to go!
CapWriter - 11/5/2012, 7:14 PM
Ford is the lynch pin to make this happen for the OG cast, much like Bill Murray and the Ghost Busters cast.
