@nikgrid - The cycle is repeating itself. I remember when they 1st announced the extended canon during 5:Empire strikes back and it sold massively. Then Disney bought everything and destroyed its canon.

This is for a whole new generation of star wars nerds that didn't grow up with lucas and the skywalkers. Disney is rewriting history and destroying legacies again because they can. This is for the sake of business rather than art.

This is not for me sadly, nor is my age group their target audience anymore. At least we have Yoda or Baby Yoda to tie everything.

I hear ya. I've been a massive SW fan since I saw Empire in 1980, but I think I don't care anymore, TLJ and the DT killed any enthusiasm for any new Star Wars that's not set during the Lucas age.

So, to get everyone excited about these new books and comics...they make sure you know it's ok to ignore them ? That's a bold strategy Cotton.

It could be argued that by doing this they allow the creators to create a world, themes and storylines that any film makers can then go and play around in and not have to be saddled with creating a whole new era of Star Wars.

The new Star Wars stories should be set a 1000s years later after episode 9

HIGH REPUBLIC Comic Books And Novels Won't Tie Into Any Upcoming Movies Or TV Shows

If history proves anything, people will cite these books as reasons to dislike future movies for not being source accurate enough.

This is almost definitely a testing ground in my view. "This is for hardcores only." So if the hardcores like it, then we'll consider making a movie about it for everyone else.

Jesus Christ, Disney. You take one step forward in the right direction with announcing a KotOR series/movies/whatever it turns out to be; and then you take three steps back with this soggy excuse of a turd.
This is the dumbest reveal since J.J. Abrams announced that he was going to write a Spider-Man series with his son.
