The Apes Take Down A Bear In New DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES TV Spot

This fourth official tv ad for the upcoming follow up to Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes features a few snippets of new footage, including a brief glimpse of Caesar and his followers taking down some much larger prey. Take a look after the jump.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), from a screenplay written by Mark Bomback, Scott Z. Burns, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The cast includes: Andy Serkis (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Public Enemies, The Great Gatsby), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises, The Harry Potter film series), Keri Russell (The Americans, Mission Impossible III), Toby Kebbell (The Prince of Persia, Wrath of the Titans, Rock N Rolla), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In, ParaNorman), Enrique Murciano (Traffic, Black Hawk Down), Kirk Acevedo (The Thin Red Line) and Judy Greer (The Descendants, Three Kings, 13 Going on 30). The film hits theaters July 11, 2014

I'd use karate on the apes.
yossarian - 6/6/2014, 9:42 AM
I'd try shooting the apes in the face. That works for most things.
HachibiTheMC - 6/6/2014, 9:47 AM
not too far from reality. If a foreign chimp walks into another groups area, the indigs will stalk down and kill the intruder.

I actually watched a special on it. This group of about 10 or 15 chimps, walking silently, single-file, in search of the enemy. Its downright scary how organized they are. they're go-to move is to rip off genitals...horrifying in itself.

Humans r sooooo [frick]ed! XD

Damn that ape took the bear down. That scene looks really cool.
NovaCorpsFan - 6/6/2014, 10:04 AM
I'd love if the bear takedown was the opening scene of the film and we think the bear's hunting the apes, when really it's the opposite.
NeoBaggins - 6/6/2014, 10:29 AM
Why didn't the Bear talk his way out of that? =(
SuperCat - 6/6/2014, 10:32 AM
Bears are punks!

This isn't even interesting.

See...when we destroyed ourselves in Apes, it was awesome. Now we just an inferior species.

Simply being smart, in the case of Caesar, is, it isn't enough. I'm really sorry. It just isn't. Humans have conquered every species, habitat and environment on earth. A smarter X isn't going to do shit because he can just simply bomb them, shoot them, or starve them. We don't need to fight animals...we've won. Caesar can't teach dipshits to be smart. If that were possible then out public school system would churn out SEALS.

Whatever...I'll be paying my mortgage and student loans until I die.
HachibiTheMC - 6/6/2014, 11:58 AM

rant much?
NightForce - 6/6/2014, 12:00 PM
dude ALL of the apes are intelligent, not just Caesar. And the human race has been devastated by a virus, so theres probably no more military. Super smart apes would a challenge against a band of human survivors dude. Apes are already way stronger and faster than humans IRL.
NightForce - 6/6/2014, 12:02 PM
a small band of survivors isn't going to do shit against an army of super intelligent apes, guns or not.
CavEl - 6/6/2014, 12:11 PM
@ yossarian - We only conquered the Earth because we were the smartest on the planet, we're not special. And Ceaser gave them the serum that Franco gave him, he didn't teach them.

PLus, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Korea should've let you know that being superior doesn't mean you win. It's not a matter of who has the biggest guns, it's all about who has the strongest will.
yossarian - 6/6/2014, 12:22 PM
@Cavel - So monkey smarts is immune to bombings? Simply being smart doesn't mean you can do things. There are skills which are learned. Didn monkey serum pass that shit by? Is that why he was picking locks and tactically sound? Is he teaching warfare tactics to the chimps? Where does that put them? On full frontal assault? So they are the smart monkey bones bullet resistant? Do you really think the armies of the world can't defeat some monkeys who have to scavenge for weapons and then learn to use them and then have zero means of replenishing ammunition?
PunkRockJesus - 6/6/2014, 12:51 PM
@ Yoss ...

The human race was ravaged by the same virus that makes the monkeys smart.

PunkRockJesus - 6/6/2014, 12:52 PM
This movie makes my testicles feel like they're redropping. I'm stoked
yossarian - 6/6/2014, 1:36 PM
@Punk - Which movie? The original, the remake or the remake of the remake? Yes. I saw an elderly fellow with Parkinson's disease do very well, until the disease came back and snatched his ass. Was that the point? Was that the point of the new movie? Our medicine is killing us, but our medicine makes other shit stronger? Is that the deeper message in that movie? Okay. I dig it. Are you still taking your flu shot?

The point of the original movie was that human beings were destined to kill ourselves off and that we ought to think about this. Now it's about how our technology can work against us? Okay...but...bullets still kill shit made of matter. Did that serum contain all of the war tactic ever used?If I made a hyper aggressive and smart pig...then that pig made other pigs you think we couldn't kill them? Is this scenario monkey specific?
HachibiTheMC - 6/6/2014, 1:48 PM

you're pig analogy don't fly straight.

you're forgetting the power of opposable thumbs so in that regard, yes, the possibility of an animal takeover is monkey specific.

stop being a [frick]in douche.
marvel72 - 6/6/2014, 4:57 PM
