UPDATE: New Clip From THE HUNGER GAMES Featuring Stanley Tucci & Josh Hutcherson

UPDATE: New Clip From THE HUNGER GAMES Featuring Stanley Tucci & Josh Hutcherson

As the release date for the highly anticipated sci-fi flick approaches, we have this brand new clip. Eccentric blue-haired talk show host Caesar Flickerman interviews Peeta before he must fight for his life in the arena...

I can't actually watch the clip since MTV vids are blocked from outside the US, was it any good? I like what I have seen from the movie so far. I haven't read any of the books but something tells me The Hunger Games will surprise a few people when it opens March 23rd. And just in case you haven't heard this yet, here is Arcade Fire's brilliant new song for the movie, "Abraham's Daughter"..

UPDATE: And, here is over 6 minutes of B-roll footage from the movie..

“In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.”

The Hunger Games is directed by Gary Ross and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Lenny Kravitz, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Isabelle Fuhrman, Willow Shields, Amandla Stenberg, and Wes Bentley.

When I first read that line, I pretty much dropped the book and did this for 5 minutes.

The books are juvenile but in no way are they equal to the tween menopause abortion that is the Twilight saga.

Too bad the book was anus, otherwise I would consider seeing this movie.

Just finished the book yesterday. Thought it was awsome, I can totally see Jennifer Lawrence owning the role of Katniss. I used the voices of the actors while I read and thought it worked great! My only misfit is Elisabeth Banks a's Effie, seems like and odd choice to me, but whatever, she's unimportant in my mind.
Really hope the movie lives up to the book, be interesting to see what they do about the mutants at the end.

Okay so I know this is kinda like Battle Royal but if you give it a try the only same thing they have is kids fighting! I mean in horror movies slashers there kinda same story line so please read the book before talking. Also this movie will be very good it is nothing like Twilight at all.
TheDude - 3/12/2012, 12:38 PM
There are all kinds of movies that are similar, but what puts them apart is actualy having a good story. Read the book before you try to compare it to something you've probably never seen or read.
skidz - 3/12/2012, 1:12 PM
For anyone comparing this to Twilight I have two questions: At ANY point did Bella actually kill anyone? Was she ever trained to kill anyone?

I'm being sarcastic. The answers to both should be self evident.

I can't wait
