LP4 - 12/4/2012, 1:41 PM
Poor Vulcans. Just because they lost their planet, they can't be listed here as well for their viewing? lol
WolvieCBM - 12/4/2012, 2:08 PM
Well, IM3 has two weeks before Star Trek, so it will be more like ST vs. Fast Five vs. Hangover 3. Both of these films have the same release date, one week after Star Trek.
shamo - 12/4/2012, 2:08 PM
poor Ironman.
Spidey91 - 12/4/2012, 2:10 PM

LP4 - 12/4/2012, 2:10 PM

Benedict Cumberbatch vs. Ben Kingsley?

HOLY [frick]ING SHIT May is in store for two great villain performances!
WolvieCBM - 12/4/2012, 2:11 PM
Shamo: Poor... because?

ckal: ST will open 2 weeks after IM3. May 3 and May 17th. What about it?
IISuperSlothII - 12/4/2012, 2:15 PM
Love how usually everyone moans about whether USA, UK or China get the film first, but Paramount decided to give it to Egypt and Norway first :P
Franshu - 12/4/2012, 2:18 PM
STID comes out May 17th in the US.... and August 22nd in Argentina??? WTF??. Sonuva...
Jolt17 - 12/4/2012, 2:26 PM
Same date as the US release. Sweet.

DrDoom - 12/4/2012, 2:52 PM
May is gonna rock my titties.
WolvieCBM - 12/4/2012, 2:55 PM
Fast Six. Not Five.
Darth258 - 12/4/2012, 3:04 PM
6 June.. could've been worst..
Nemeres - 12/4/2012, 3:05 PM
Holy sheee-it, in Colombia it comes out the same day as Man of Steel. Why the hell are the dates so inconsistent worldwide?
WolvieCBM - 12/4/2012, 3:22 PM
Intruder: Nah, it won't. IM3 will do great at the box office, but first Star Trek from 2009 opened with almost $80M and this one will increase big time. I see a $110+M OW. Even more if the marketing is good.
WolvieCBM - 12/4/2012, 3:24 PM
Those 4 years actually go in favor for ST. Audience loved the first film, so everyone is basically anticipating this one.
LP4 - 12/4/2012, 3:30 PM
@Intruder- I guess I'm not too surprised by your choice for May.

But Star Trek 2 has more in favor of it. As WolvieCBM pointed out, the anticipation for the ST sequel is far higher than the anticipation for IM3.

Am I the only one who actually felt the Enterprise series was the best from Star Trek? So the Captain Archer reference from the last film was pretty cool.
Wildaniel - 12/4/2012, 3:36 PM
Star Trek Into Darkness will be better then The Avengers!
marckos - 12/4/2012, 3:48 PM
in brazil will be 2 months after USA? I have to say, thank you torrent!
pro346 - 12/4/2012, 3:56 PM
@Marcos your only going to get a shitty cam or T's...why bother just wait for the bdrip
WolvieCBM - 12/4/2012, 3:56 PM
LP4: Actually, I have to disagree with you here. I didn't say that ST will be the highest-grossing film in May. I said that IM3 won't be #1 at the box office when ST opens. ST has a lot of anticipation, that's true. But IM3 will be a huge hit. The Avengers effect is still in full force, and people want to see what happens next with these characters. Star Trek will have a great OW, but it doesn't have something IM3 has that month: 2 weeks before a big film opens. A week after ST opens, we have Fast Six, Hangover 3 and that Fox's animated film Epic. Big competition at the end of the month.
LP4 - 12/4/2012, 3:58 PM
@Wolvie- Yeah I never said ST would be the highest grossing in May either. I simply stated that intruder was mistaken that IM3 will be the highest grossing in May.
WolvieCBM - 12/4/2012, 4:01 PM
LP4: But what other film could possibly top IM3 in May?
DrDoom - 12/4/2012, 4:07 PM
Anyone who thinks Star Trek Into Darkness is going to outgross Iron Man 3 is insane.
DrDoom - 12/4/2012, 4:08 PM
Also: Me, excited for a Star Trek movie?

UNHEARD OF

bobevanz - 12/4/2012, 4:10 PM
Sweet! Imagine if you lived in japan, having to wait til september, i'd go kamikaze lol
LP4 - 12/4/2012, 4:13 PM
Crazier things have happened.

@Intruder- WHOLE SUMMER???? You're insane friend. My #1 film has always been Man of Steel. That has the potential to topple Avengers, let alone your little IM3
LP4 - 12/4/2012, 4:14 PM
By #1 i meant #1 most anticipated. lol. Obviously we haven't seen it yet. But if I had go with a ballpark estimate, I'd say MOS has the potential to outgross IM3 AND Thor2 for 2013
LP4 - 12/4/2012, 4:20 PM
@Intruder- Hm, I hated Superman Returns, everyone who has been on this site for the past 2+ years know I hated that film with a passion. BUT...it broke even at the BO. Surprisingly even a terrible Superman film was able to gross more money than "Batman Begins"

If a terrible Superman film could gross upwards of $250 mil, I don't see how a GREAT Superman film couldn't do way, way better. Maybe even surpassing the billion dollar mark.
marvel72 - 12/4/2012, 4:36 PM
awesome uk release date, japan always seems to draw the short straw.

april 2013 iron man 3

may 2013 star trek into darkness
Niklander - 12/4/2012, 4:49 PM
Ok I will set camp from right outside of my Village Cinemas June 14th MAN OF STEEL and July 11th STAR TREK INTO THE DARKNESS those are my two wanted movies and then I will die a happy man
kamberlin22 - 12/4/2012, 5:15 PM
With all these movies coming out back to back to back next summer, I think I better start saving my money now while I still have some.
Ancar - 12/4/2012, 7:03 PM
Whathe[frick]?! More than two months after for the brazilian release? Those people are [frick]ing crazy? Then they will star to cry about th piracy, buch of stupid mother[frick]ers!
LP4 - 12/4/2012, 7:05 PM
@Intruder- Fair enough. I too am actually excited for IM3. I mean, Mandarin had been hinted at since IM1 so the thought of seeing the guy pop up finally is jaw-dropping
Maximus101 - 12/4/2012, 7:37 PM
Should put a little dent in im3 overall earnings, both will be big movies. I'm not sure which I am more excited for but I would sy equally at the moment.

@intruder man of steel will be amazing cause of the writers, producers and actors alone are the best of the best so I am honestly not concerned at all.
mgeoff88 - 12/4/2012, 8:31 PM
I guess it's not surprising this will be a early summer release.

I'm looking forward to IM3 more(Superheroes>other movies), but I thought the first Star Trek was great.

I hope the sequel measures up to the first movie.
WarnerBrother - 12/5/2012, 12:06 AM
@Intruder

Outside of Legend of the Guardians what other Zach Snyder flick would you call a tent pole? 300,Watchmen,Sucker Punch, all aimed at a niche audience.Dawn of the Dead on the other hand was a big success when held up against films of it 's genre. If you factor in its BO vs its budget, the film was one of the biggest horror films of 2005 and I think it out performed Romero's Land of the Dead that year.

Unlike LP4 I won't go out on a limb and predict MOS will outgross IM3.
I will say that MOS has a very good chance of outgrossing IM3 due to it being a mid June release.

IM3 will not enjoy an Avengers style reign as number 1 film in North America that lasted to memorial day weekend when it was edged out by MIB3.

IM3 will fall to second place after two weeks when Star Trek comes out and drop further a week later when The Hangover 3 and Fast Six come out.

MOS will arrive three weeks later and one week after Will Smiths new flick that focuses on his son's character and appears to be aimed at younger families.

In the coming few weeks, its rivals will be World War Z which has Brad Pitt and Monsters university which is a long dorment animated family franchise that should do well with the kiddies but not have the adult appeal of Toy Story 3.

I see MOS getting 3 weeks as number 1 before The Lone Ranger and Despicable Me 2 dethrone it on the forth of july weekend.

No disrespect, but I think May 2013 has the most heavy weights around.
