As many of you already know, the Super 8 super bowl TV spot has been crucially examined by viewers and fans of J.J Abrams in hope of finding 'hidden images'. In the past, J.J Abrams has done this with some of the teasers of his movies like, Cloverfield, for viral and promotional gain.

Super 8 is just another addition of his viral technique as many hidden images have been found by fans and within the the various images are what looks like a dead man, a mysterious person with a fedora hat, a briefcase, a doll and the date September 19, 1962. As soon as seeing the date, I immediately jumped on Google in search of what was so significant about this date. After looking through many irrelevant pages and links, I stumbled upon an intriguing article of a reported incident. The report is about a ranch owner who, on the night of September 19, 1962, claims to have witnessed,

"a large animal dragging one of his calves into the forest."

He described the creature,

"as large like a bear but with an elongated head and snout like a wolf. It also had long, thick front legs."

He also describes how he found an unusual set of footprints on the ground.

Now at first I was thinking that this incident could've been used for the movie. But after searching throughout the FVZA website, I noticed the website was an interactive fictional case solver that is based on real reports. Still, this report seems to fit in well with the movie but I doubt it has anything to do with Super 8...or does it? What say you about this? Fictional date, or a complex hidden clue from the mysterious Abrams himself?

P.S My second article so bare with me. :]

It's a planted story linked to an interactive fantasy site Involving the Federal Bureau of Vampires and Zombies... It's total fiction.

@jim I understand that, but it's the closest thing I could find relating to that date. But who knows, maybe the date is just for something that happens in the movie and nothing else. Wierd coincidence though.
