J.J. Abrams To Work On STAR WARS EPISODE VII Post Production In Los Angeles

Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams voiced his disappointment about having to uproot his family and move to London to shoot Star Wars Episode VII for Disney, but it now appears as if he's reached a compromise with Disney as post production will take place in LA. Read on for details!

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that J.J. Abrams has reached a compromise with Disney and Lucasfilm which will allow him to produce at least some of Star Wars Episode VII on his home turf. According to the site, the director - who has shot all of his film in Los Angeles - is converting some of Bad Robot's headquarters into spaces meant specifically for post-production on the movie. "A green room, sound studios and other new facilities will be developed within the three-story, 18,000-square-foot Santa Monica building, which already includes editing bays, a workshop for making props, a screening room that can double as a set and Abrams' personal suite of offices," they report. Abrams actually covered some of Star Trek Into Darkness' costs to keep production in Los Angeles and this may be an indication that he will be working on future instalments as well. Be sure to stay tuned to CBM for further updates on the movie.

Ya'll ever thought maybe his kids don't like Star Wars.

The movies are not for everyone
RetroFit - 9/11/2013, 9:26 AM
F his kids. Give us the Star Wars that we deserve and leave the excuses at the door!
JordanKing - 9/11/2013, 9:29 AM
Who'd of thought a Hollywood director would have so much trouble with stepping outside his comfort zone. Wasn't he made aware of this when he signed on?
INSTANTJUSTICE - 9/11/2013, 9:35 AM

All post-production on Star Wars films was done in California so what's new?

ndwwrestler2 - 9/11/2013, 9:52 AM
"Post production". So they are still shooting in other places, they will just add the finishing pieces in L.A. How is the hell is this a problem?
MexicanSuperman - 9/11/2013, 10:00 AM

ManDeth - 9/11/2013, 10:12 AM
Hollywood people can be such bitches. Abrams is a little pu**y boy.
ndwwrestler2 - 9/11/2013, 10:23 AM
People are actually complaining about this?

You people must wake up angry at something to bitch about something like this.
MexicanSuperman - 9/11/2013, 10:25 AM
@uRaLlLame, no because I'm a US citizen of Mexican decent, and I like both teams even though I'm more into football than soccer. Don't act like the US team will win the World Cup.
Logan5 - 9/11/2013, 10:35 AM

No one is complaining about this; just another example of poser-baiting.
ndwwrestler2 - 9/11/2013, 10:43 AM
@RunningFromScreenTowardsCamera Non one is complaining about this? No one is calling Abrams a bitch? No one is calling anyone "Ungrateful little Sh**s"? Well then excuse me, I was reading the comments wrong.
SimyJo - 9/11/2013, 10:53 AM
Jeez, whatta whiney bitch.

There are plenty of world leading post-production VFX houses in London that service all of the top U.S blockbusters - but JJ wants to refurbish HIS studios back in L.A to do the work huh? - sounds like he is angling to be the next George Lucas with total in-house control over everything.
Logan5 - 9/11/2013, 10:54 AM

Apparently you were, no worries.

Where's my goddamn mochaccino latte, stupid? I ordered it like, 8 whole seconds ago.
bonesmcgee - 9/11/2013, 11:57 AM
It's funny how some people are appalled by this (in humorous ways) though it doesn't affect us as fans at all. Let Abrams spend time with his kids!
gaikinger - 9/11/2013, 12:06 PM
thanks JJ L.A. loves you back!
gaikinger - 9/11/2013, 12:09 PM
London? F#@k London!
MexicanSuperman - 9/11/2013, 12:35 PM
@uRaLlLame, first of all, don't bring up my parents you b!/@#, and my parents are US citizens.
SirJediFrank - 9/11/2013, 1:04 PM

Durango95 - 9/11/2013, 4:50 PM
Cmon Abrams suck it the [frick] up. You knew what it was going to entail when you took the SW job.
DelTorite - 9/12/2013, 7:13 AM
[frick] your family Abrams when you are directing Star Wars. You will probably be replaced on the next film like most of Marvel directors.
