New Clip From The Next STAR WARS REBELS Short Focuses On 'Sabine Wren'

We've seen The Machine in the Ghost already, and now this clip from the second of four shorts leading up to the premiere of Disney XD's new Star Wars animated series sees Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren (Tiya Sircar) "tagging" some Tie-Fighters..

"Star Wars Rebels’ continues the epic tradition of the legendary ‘Star Wars’ saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures. It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship “Ghost.” Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes."

Star Wars Rebels takes place between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. The series, executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.

This show looks weak. Nothing like the other animated show.

All the body motions look off. The stormtroopers graphically look fine, but their walking doesn't look right. And Booby Fett there moves like a Disney princess.

Eh....Looks like it will be fun for the younglings.

Jedi mind trick I sense. Ahsoka, she still could be.
JediPhilosopher - 8/15/2014, 8:48 AM
Amxt, I agree about the body motions. I've learned to overlook it in The Clone Wars.

when is this new short going to air?
JediPhilosopher - 8/15/2014, 9:55 AM
I'm going to start calling these things too as I see them. I'm talking about scenes that seem original until you realize what they stole from or were inspired by. This one, depicts two guards investigating a suspicious person sneaking around. Then she distracts them with conversation so much that they forget momentarily about her. The original scene? Pirates of the Caribbean: stealing the boat.
Not saying it's bad that it isn't completely original. This happens because it's pretty much all been done before. It's why the concept of intellectual property must end, because if it's all been done and all protected, then eventually we come to a point where we can't legally do anything else.
JediPhilosopher - 8/15/2014, 10:20 AM
My theory: It's Ahsoka, after a name and face change (like in the episode of the Clone Wars in which Obiwan becomes someone different). Maybe she found a group of mandalorians like-minded in their dislike of the new empire. Actually the younger sister of Obiwan's love interest may have been her contact.

They have done the time period between III and IV to death. They should do a series past Jedi.

Heck, do an animated movie for Heir to the Empire. Would love to see that.

Without intellectual property, no one could make a living doing art besides copying ideas like that don't fall into copyright law anyway.

And by the way, Mandalorians should be tough, no nonsense and male. There, I said it.
DrRockit13 - 8/15/2014, 12:23 PM
I don think anyone has to worry about stealing in this instance, considering Disney owns both properties.

Hot Mando Action

"And by the way, Mandalorians should be tough, no nonsense and male. There, I said it."
I agree actually, except the male part. :P. If my theory is right, she isn't really mandalorian.

Dayam! Your fem-dalorien resembles Ahsoka. She could play her actually.

"Without intellectual property, no one could make a living doing art.."
Your liberty or your entertainment.. Choose. The philosophy of liberty goes much deeper on this topic, but I shouldn't here. Not the place for these discussions.
Seek truth.

She's a girl, so her armor is pink.
