Possible New STAR WARS EPISODE VII Plot Details Revealed

Possible New STAR WARS EPISODE VII Plot Details Revealed

The seventh entry in the world's most famous sci-fi series is still well over a year away but news of the film's plot couldn't be more abundant; hit the jump to check out the latest (rumored) details featuring both new and old heroes! Mild spoilers may follow!

Star Wars Episode VII is still well over a year away and the plot is currently Disney's worse kept secret with leaks coming in every week or so. Now it's Badass Digest writer Devin Faraci's turn to give us some new details on the film's plot. Be warned though, if you're not a fan of even the mildest of spoilers, this isn't for you...
According to Faraci the film will open with the iconic Star Wars crawl but rather than the shot moving to a spaceship flying through space the  camera will pan to a severed hand grasping a (Jedi) lightsaber. The weapon eventually lands on a desert planet where it is discovered by (eventual heroes) John Boyega and Daisy Ridley. Recognising it to be a Jedi relic they plan to return it to it's owners, taking them into space where they meet Han Solo and Chewbacca piloting a ship that is not the Millenium Falcon.
The pair recognise the lightsaber as Luke Skywalker's
, however they haven't seen the Jedi since the events of Return Of The Jedi 30 years ago. This leads the film's protagonists on a search for Luke.
As for the film's villains, while he hasn't mentioned any names, Faraci claims that nefarious forces are creating a super weapon on an icy planet. The weapon is much more powerful than the original's Death Star, capable of destroying entire solar systems!
If true it looks like we'll be in for one odd ride when November of 2015 roles around. What do you think of the details? True or not false and regardless of their validity, do they interest you? Sign off your thoughts on the matter below!

How in the hell would a severed hand survive the heat of re-entry and crashing to Earth? This is a sometimes reliable source, but sounds like BS to me.

Poop idea.
JoshWilding - 7/20/2014, 9:46 AM
If the next scene is these guys taking the hand to Luke and him saying, "My hand! I thought I'd never see this again..." then we might all want to start begging George Lucas to come back. :P
charlie2094 - 7/20/2014, 9:46 AM
Interesting, definitely like the idea, sets the stakes pretty high from the get go and gets right to the point. The idea of having to search for Luke sounds great, maybe have him captured by a new Sith or something, seems like a pretty cool angle to take, kind of establishes a huge threat from the first frame and already adds a lot of mystery to them.

Not so sure about the whole hand floating in space thing, but the idea seems pretty cool.
DannyRand1225 - 7/20/2014, 9:46 AM
if true, it depends on execution but i think it sounds cool and the guy says in his article that he is hearing that John Boyega owns this movie
DannyRand1225 - 7/20/2014, 9:47 AM
poor luke..not another hand
DrDoom - 7/20/2014, 9:50 AM
Why can't you people write this shit down as 'rumours' when they are exactly that? These plot details haven't been 'revealed' because there's no way to verify their validity.

They're rumours at this point. Nothing more.
DannyRand1225 - 7/20/2014, 9:54 AM
while i like JJ Abrams films(i liked Mission Impossible 3, i really liked the first Star Trek, Super 8 was alright, and i know this movie has a mixed response, but i also really liked Star Trek into Darkness) but again, while i like his films, his movies arent known to be the most "logical" so i can see the severed hand opening
kinghulk - 7/20/2014, 9:57 AM

so no millenium falcon and luk has been missing for 30 years? i kind of dont like the sound of that. hopefully the film will be good.
Cyrusthecitrus - 7/20/2014, 9:59 AM
Good god people are actually buying this? A floating hand in space is an awful plot device to bring the characters together and start the story. It made me cringe reading it lol. The guy who wrote the article on badass didn't even list it as a rumour either. Also it's already known that Ford has the Falcon seeing how he's been shooting his scenes on the damn thing.

I'm calling bull on that article, the writer and source,
DAGuess - 7/20/2014, 10:06 AM
I smell BS.
CaptShipwreck - 7/20/2014, 10:19 AM
It seems way off .... I'm saying its BS

Lose the hand (pun yes)...have them find the lightsaber (since each one is handmade (oops another hand joke)...and then we're in business.
Matchow - 7/20/2014, 10:25 AM
True or not, these details sound fine to me. I can dig it.
BlindJustice - 7/20/2014, 10:26 AM
(Sorry, each one being handmade means it would be recognizable.)
Priest - 7/20/2014, 10:27 AM
I have a bad feeling about this.

I hope that they don't ruin Star Wars any worse than the prequels.
reverendjonnynemo - 7/20/2014, 10:32 AM
Maybe it really is Luke's hand, you can get it cheap apparently...

Battabing - 7/20/2014, 10:32 AM
Return a lightsaber? Sounds like a bit of a flimsy reason to head out on a space voyage.

If it's a relic, chances are it doesn't have an owner anymore.
It'd make much more sense if interested parties came looking for the lightsaber.

Eh, whatever.

I have a something to say...

This movie needs Michael Bay and his mysterious government funding.
fanDomX - 7/20/2014, 10:41 AM
Sounds about as good as the Boyega, Ridley rescue-romance plot. Both sound as if this film is being created directly for the Sci-Fi channel.
StrangerX - 7/20/2014, 10:45 AM
Its lukes prosthetic hand duhhh... [frick]in nooobs
Nick56 - 7/20/2014, 10:46 AM
the whole 'hunt for luke skywalker' thing has been rumoured for a while and I like the sound of it, but the hand in space sounds BS and the super-super death star-esque weapon just sounds like lazy storytelling
Objectivelybiased - 7/20/2014, 10:51 AM
I cannot wait for the finale where they face Robot Spider with Chewbacca head.
SpiderFraud - 7/20/2014, 10:57 AM
I glad you guys are pointing out how dumb this sounds.

God help us all if this turns out to be real.
Azrael725 - 7/20/2014, 11:02 AM

I can't even describe the amount of BS in this article. That sounds so bad. Plus that is a very gruesome opening for a Star Wars film.
Newbus - 7/20/2014, 11:09 AM
A weapon that destroys a solar system??

dethpillow - 7/20/2014, 11:12 AM
this sounds so stupid. this is some kind of fan fic written by a nine year old somewhere.

seriously one of the stupidest ideas for the premise of a Star Wars movie ever.

Han Solo's like... oh yeah, that's Luke's lightsaber. that's probably his hand too. haven't seen that guy for 30 years. weird.
ok, i'll see you kids later.

it's like Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys or something.

dethpillow - 7/20/2014, 11:19 AM
also, just in general, who cares if their planet it blown up?
that's not very scary or threatening.
just stupid.

whole solar system is even taking that stupid idea and making it stupider.
Nivekian - 7/20/2014, 11:21 AM
Also, love the pic of what is supposed to be a prop of Luke's severed hand, and it's the left hand, instead of the right. Why even display that?
dethpillow - 7/20/2014, 11:21 AM
now if it kicked with Luke's head floating around in space... now then you'd be on to something.

that would be pretty rad. just as an opening shot.
bs77 - 7/20/2014, 11:25 AM
Doomsday weapons are so lame. I hope JJ has something better than that. At least Lucas tried to explain how the sith manipulated politics to create the Empire... Just poor execution...
GeekyCheekyChic - 7/20/2014, 11:27 AM
Huh? Severed hand ? That doesnt sound like an exact detail.
Facade - 7/20/2014, 11:28 AM
Luke had a robotic hand, too.
Ocelot - 7/20/2014, 11:34 AM
It does sound like something that Abrams would do. I mean Abrams laughably had a young Kirk bump into a future Spock on random planet/cave in Star Trek. That film also had a planet destroying superweapon, Red Matter, which was his version of the Death Star.
Tylerman - 7/20/2014, 11:40 AM
Dude being a star wars fan...I hope that you are kidding. Just like episodes 1,2, and 3. These might just very well me a sad dissapointment. I don't understand why we can't see the new jedi council rise, and the new republic with luke, han, and Leia's kids. I just don't understand for the likes of me why ben, jania, and jacen were not even considered for the movies, it's kinda retarded if you ask me. Anyone with me?
SuperDude001 - 7/20/2014, 11:41 AM
The floating hand sounds awful. I don't mind them finding it on a planet, but it come through space is just dumb, it would burn up when entering the atmosphere...like I can maybe believe remains of the robot hand and lightsaber making it but otherwise (like how described in this) no.
And frankly it makes little sense why Han Solo and crew haven't seen Luke for 3 decades and only now that they find his lightsaber start looking for him.
I can believe Solo and Chewy piloting something other than the Falcon to start with, as while I haven't read any of the expanded universe I would think Solo married Leia and became some pilot with actual authority. And the sly set photos have shown the Falcon still being a bit beaten up, so it would make sense if Solo just kept it somewhere and never flew it.
And I don't mind another destruction-weapon like the Death Star, but it can't blow up just more stuff. That just sounds crap. It's at least gotta be like the reality-bomb from Doctor Who or something that destroys stuff in a new way. It can't just be an old fashioned blow up device, it's got to have different stakes.

That was a massive ramble, sorry. Just trying to work out the logic behind this rumour and while written cool it seems there is little.
