STAR WARS EPISODE VII: Carrie Fisher Talks More About A Return As Princess Leia Mrs Solo

STAR WARS EPISODE VII: Carrie Fisher Talks More About A Return As <strike>Princess Leia</strike> Mrs Solo

We've seen Carrie Fisher harassed by paparazzi for an answer about whether she would consider returning as 'Princess Leia' in Star Wars: Episode VII, but a recent appearance on a US chat show saw the actress talk a little more about the possibility of a return.

Appearing on 'The Talk' recently, Carrie Fisher was quizzed about exactly how interested she is in reprising the role of Princess Leia in Disney's planned seventh instalment in the Star Wars franchise. "[Leia] has never been gone," she answered coyly. "As far I know, she has been with me forever!" So, that's not exactly the "Yes, I would definitely like to return!" sort of answer we've had from most actors involved with the previous instalments in the franchise, but the actress did jokingly offer up a scenario in which her character could return. "I like to think of it as 'old Leia', like, sway-backed old Leia the horse. I like the idea of being Mrs Solo, and we've just fought and fought and I killed him, but I'm sorry. I'm sorry - that's right, I feel badly and I probably had an affair with some general." What do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Oh Leia...
nuclearpriest - 11/14/2012, 6:52 PM
Boy, judging from that video, if Carrie does come back they are going to need some crazy CGI to make her look like Princess Leia because, right now, she looks more like Jabba the Hut.

We aren't getting this ^^^.

to all the snort as much blow and drink as much booze as Ms. Fisher did from the 70's to the 90's and then show us how pretty you look.

Why would anyone want to see Grandma Solo in a bikini? Movies came out 30+ years ago... people change, get over it.
VictorHugo - 11/14/2012, 7:44 PM
They had KIDS, Jayna and Jacen and Anakin, Jayna could appear in a bikini.
JDUKE25 - 11/14/2012, 7:51 PM
Such a dumb show.
IronManny819 - 11/14/2012, 7:52 PM
I'd still do her purely out of respect.
continuezero - 11/14/2012, 8:18 PM
^^^This, if you ever thought after Return of the Jedi you'd do her if you ever met her then you owe it to her to do it.
ComfortablyNumb - 11/14/2012, 8:25 PM
I'd tap that.
CoolantTech - 11/14/2012, 8:27 PM
Not bad looking at all compared to what she looked like a few years ago, I think she's definately pretty enough to still play an older mama Leia, if there's anyone that doubts that they should check out The Roast Of Roseanne... I'd do her

We all know that in our deep rooted nerd genetic code, we would bury our Boba Fett's in her Sarlacc without hesitation.

I would wreck that shib.

I know that this will sound like sacrilege to some of you, but how about these old cats, pass the batons to some younger actors?

I'm not sold on any of these, but these are just ideas [ I'd be interested in knowing, who would you cast?].

Aaron Eckhart for Han Solo

Han Solo

He has the acting chops, and the rugged good looks like Harrison Ford in his younger years.

Kate Beckinsale for Leia

She can play feisty, and she can still wear a slave outfit without making us want to puke in our mouths.

Ryan Gosling for Luke

The guy can act (play it light or dark), he is blonde, and he can pass for weathered teacher Luke.

There, three people that won't hurt my eyes with their oldness. I just sounded like an ageist. Or, the fact that we could have had them back in 1999 (a lot younger) if Lucas would have given those prequels a break.

Super12 - 11/14/2012, 9:13 PM
Aaron Eckhart wouldn't be a bad Solo actually...but I still think they should try to put Carrie, Harrison, or Mark in the new ones as cameos. Not the focus, just added bonuses to make us happy.
0bstreperous - 11/14/2012, 9:35 PM
is it sad thast star wars has be dead since the ewoks i am finally ready to let it go these people will beat this horse to death

ScottScottScott - 11/14/2012, 9:38 PM

I'd rather get old Luke, Han, and Leia as supporting characters and the movie be about their Kids.

I've wanted some adult Ben Skywalker tales told, this would be perfect. I'd be all for Goslin playing Ben Skywalker.
BaneFTW - 11/14/2012, 10:32 PM
Prequels were about Anakin/Kenobi. Originals were Luke/Leia/Han. Then next three movies won't focus on any of the above. If they're in them at all they'll be supporting characters.
DrRockso - 11/15/2012, 12:06 AM
She needs to quit [frick]in' around. This is serious shit.

Wormwood, it ain't happening, bro
Ninjapimp - 11/15/2012, 6:13 AM
it could work if they keep them real old, like granchas old, chewys on a zimmer wearing incontenance nappys. hans full up with space viagra so he can plow a wrinkly leah, and shes just one kinky old mare, coz shes got the that little bit of forcein her and its awakened her sexyness. shes just putting out there in the rebel alliance. proper stinker. han knows ofcourse that shes a slapper and shes banging everything from the jawas to the gungans. but hes cool. him and lando go out fishing and shit, smoke some Endor mowywowey. lukes getting a bit forgetfull, wheres my lightsaber hes always saying. yeh could be good
MyInnerDork - 11/15/2012, 8:11 AM
I'd rather not have Fisher in this movie please.
SirJediFrank - 11/15/2012, 8:23 AM

She already expressed that she´d like to return, but now she has to wait what kind of a role she´d play, and see if it is worthy, i think it she will.

The old characters actually looking old can be awesome.
TheOverlord - 11/15/2012, 10:49 AM
People who didn't see Star Wars in the theater in '77 don't get a vote. Until those of us that did are all gone, she's Leia for life.
DukeAcureds - 11/15/2012, 11:13 AM
What's with the recasting?!
Carrie Fisher is awesome!! I'd sure as Hell lend her my head.
superpooper - 11/15/2012, 11:40 AM
She's really not all that horrible on the eyes. I was expecting worse.
Parker2017 - 11/15/2012, 12:09 PM
@porkcheek Excewlent Job

well I love to see the old charaters back they way they are now. I think Luke,Leia, and Han well be supporting charaters or if it takes a lot farther down the timeline the could be refence. I would love to see Luke as a jedi master passing the torch to students, maybe in epsidoe 8 he dies and his son or daughter or a group of miscast cadets could fight. maybe a new sith order is rising I don't know othe rthen the guy whow rote toy story 3 is going to be wrtinging it and thats cool.
SKAPEGOAT - 11/15/2012, 12:46 PM
XavierLehnsherr who is that girl? Seen her in movies, but don't know her name! Sexy!
niknik - 11/15/2012, 1:11 PM
Alienrobotzombieovelord has it right. All you noobs that want a reboot with young actors can shut the hell up. This film isnt for you. THose of us that have been waiting 30 years for this to finally happen are getting what WE want: The original actors playing the roles they made history with. The continueing story of those characters is what this is all about. If the story picks up after 20 years instead of 5 thats fine. It's Hollywood. They have no trouble making 60 year old actors look 40 again.
Dunejedi - 11/15/2012, 1:26 PM
She'll always be Leia to me. But, depending on what they have in store for her character, I'm having some doubts about Fisher's ability to reprise the role. She's spent her entire adult life running away from Star Wars and wallowing in relative obscurity. Does she even act anymore? If done right, it would be awesome to see her and Ford back, but for my money, Hamill is the only one they HAVE to get for VII.
porkcheek - 11/15/2012, 2:57 PM
@Parker2017 That pic is not my work. I got it from deviant art. In contrast, here is MY terrible skills at work..
DukeAcureds - 11/15/2012, 3:44 PM
SkapeGoat@ Seriously? Her names Maggie Uglyhall, you've probably seen her in The Dark Knight or Donnie Darko and, if you like the look of her, you should most definitely check out Sherry Baby. She's actually really desirable and entirely nekkids in that.
