Tom Hiddleston Would Take A STAR WARS Role Offer "Very Seriously"

The actor, who has made lifelong fans from CBMers with his portrayals of Loki, says he would relish the chance to work with producer Kathleen Kennedy again, and would definitely be up for a role in Star Wars Episode VII if asked. Check out the video interview..

While chatting to Digital Spy, Tom Hiddleston was asked whether he would consider a role in the new Star Wars movie coming our way - given the fact that he is currently acting under the Disney umbrella as Marvel's Loki, and that he has worked with executive producer Kathleen Kennedy before on War Horse. He replies that he hadn't thought about it but is a huge fan of the original trilogy, and although it would depend on story and character, and he is worried that fans might associate him too closely with Loki, he would take any offer "very seriously". See what the actor had to say in full in the below vid..

Loki in Star Wars? Sounds good to me! Which role do you think Hiddleston would suit? Or would a brand new character be the way to go? Sound off below.

Nobody likes a Fister!!!
MisterNiceGuy - 11/15/2012, 10:03 AM
It would not surprise me if Disney wanted him for Star Wars. He is def the Jedi type
HeadlessJensen - 11/15/2012, 10:04 AM
That'd be gold if he were to appear in a Star Wars movie! Make it happen!
xXkryptoniteXx - 11/15/2012, 10:06 AM
Give him the job!!!
Han Solo! or a new upcoming Jedi
NoAssemblyReqd - 11/15/2012, 10:08 AM
Oh Hell yes. Give him a good guy role this time!
jimpinto24 - 11/15/2012, 10:10 AM
Tom Hiddeleston would make a good Jedi.
Boogie138 - 11/15/2012, 10:11 AM
corran horn! he would be perfect!
BIGBMH - 11/15/2012, 10:14 AM
Depending on when this movie is set, he would be believable as the son of Han and Leia. His features are more similar to them then they are to Luke. However, I would imagine they'd be looking for slightly younger leads than Tom if they're starting a whole new trilogy.
SuperDude001 - 11/15/2012, 10:14 AM
He'd be good in any role, but I'd hope he wouldn't play a villain. I know he has perfect ability but I know I'd still think Loki when I saw him if he was a villain. Still he'd be good in a role if the new film is seriously directed (by that I mean like originals and no Jar-Jar).

Tbh there's loads of actors I hope get any part in the new Star Wars (Matt Smith, Nathan Fillion, Carey Mulligan, Julian Sands, to name a few) but it all depends on story and direction
ironpool007 - 11/15/2012, 10:15 AM
I could see him and Tom Hardy as Sith Lords and Micheal Fassbender as Jedi Knight or Master.
DaenerysTargaryen - 11/15/2012, 10:15 AM
I would kill to see him in a Star Wars movie. KILL I say!
Optimus83 - 11/15/2012, 10:19 AM
Loky meets Darth Vader. ...¡¡¡Good Crossover!!!
spidey1994 - 11/15/2012, 10:20 AM
Hiddleston for Darth Nihilus!
IDKwhatToChoose - 11/15/2012, 10:22 AM
Whoever said Jacen/Darth Cadeas nailed it. Jacen Solo in the books has an incredible journey. The twins start out as a beacon of hope. Jacen in his innocence looking for higher meaning with the force and ultimately succumbing to the darkside without even realizing it until it is too late would be a PERFECT role for Hiddleston. Would love to see the Embrace of Pain and that entire story line on screen. Those books were so visual. I can still see Chewie standing on Serindepal shaking his fists in defiance as the moon crushes the planet and then the entire Han and Anakin dilemma with Han looking at his son saying "You left him".. That would be bad a$$
BubblesShedAndBreakfast - 11/15/2012, 10:26 AM
I would like to see him play a good guy or a Jedi. I don't wanna see him being typecast as always being the bad guy like a lot of actors are nowadays. We have seen him as an awesome vilian now lets see how he handles a goodguy
KryptonitePen - 11/15/2012, 10:26 AM
@Nomis HA! thats too perfect.
AC1 - 11/15/2012, 10:27 AM
He should absolutely be a Jedi Knight if he's offered a role, I'd rather not see him as another villain because he'd probably be written similarly to Loki. I can definitely see him as a very serious Jedi Knight, perhaps one who is known for being more skillful than his age would let on.

If this happened, it would be the first step in me having faith in this new trilogy. I'd hope that Episodes VII - IX could bring in the best of both previous trilogies (i.e. the Jedi being active intergalactic peacekeepers once more from the Prequels, but without the stupid gimmicky shit, and with the more heartfelt storytelling from the original trilogy).

I could also imagine Hugo Weaving as either a Jedi Master or a bad guy (not too keen on the Sith returning unless done exceptionally well - there are other villains in the Galaxy).

I'd also kind of like bounty hunters to have a larger role in at least one of the films, perhaps with an older Boba Fett (who apparently survived the Sarlacc) acting as some kind of crime-boss, Jabba style... except different.

And I think the biggest continuity link should be C3PO and R2-D2 returning - I'm shocked no one has mentioned them yet, but people forget they're the only characters who've appeared the same (and portrayed by the same actors) in every installment so far, plus they're the easiest characters to bring back, since at this point they could put younger actors in the suits and bring back Anthony Daniels to voice C3PO (Kenny Baker may be too old to go back in R2's suit, and the voice is digital anyway)

@DangerStranger he was asked a question. Do you expect him to just sit there with his mouth shut? If you're being interviewed, you talk, you don't keep quiet; that's the opposite to the reason that you'd be there. And he's not over exposing himself at all, he's not one of those celebrities who parades around on drinking and drug benders every night until 5am, and sleeps with strings with miscellaneous women, and acts like a general douchebag. Hiddleston seems like a genuinely nice, down to Earth guy who is being deservedly recognized as a talented actor, and isn't letting it all go to his head or feed his ego.
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 11/15/2012, 10:35 AM
Oh, hell yeah!! Go for it, Tom!

An actor like Tom in a movie franchise like Star Wars is a goldmine. Disney has to look into him becoming a part of another big name franchise. C'mon, Disney....

And if Tom were to land a role (and it better be a big role) for the future Star Wars films, then I hope to see him as a Jedi Knight. Seeing Tom weild a lightsaber like a bad@$$ will be epic!

silverpaladin - 11/15/2012, 10:35 AM
Yeeesh you have all missed the point. He is Loki. Thus he Should Darth Skywalker. (One of the names Loki is known for in myth.) This would tie Marvel and Star Wars together as a franchise. Think of the crossovers and money to be made. The mind reels The Avenging Jedi!!!!!

In all seriousness Tom would be a really good choice as villian or hero. Now nobody tell Micheal Bay about my first paragraph.
himynameisnik - 11/15/2012, 10:36 AM
I'd love to see Tom Hiddleston is Star Wars! There are always big British actors in the films and this would be a genius and perfect addition! I'd love to see him as Jacen Solo but then who for Jaina? I know this may not be a popular opinion but I think Andrew Garfield could play Ben Skywalker, he looks enough like Hayden Christiansen and Mark Hamill!

Oh, and, yes. There is one more thing.....

More 'Slave Leia' outfits. ;)
StrangerX - 11/15/2012, 10:45 AM
Im down for it
DrDoom - 11/15/2012, 10:47 AM
I'm good with that. Dude rules.
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 11/15/2012, 10:48 AM
I honestly don't know what other Star Wars villains that could be included in the franchise. Not sure if Disney/Lucas Film has to create more for future films, or what. So it'll be interesting to see along the road for the future Star Wars films.
Moakynubs - 11/15/2012, 10:51 AM
ABSOLUTELY yes, but not if he's typecast as a "Loki" or as a Bad guy. He needs something he can get in to and make his own.
Supes17 - 11/15/2012, 10:53 AM

He was awesome as Loki
I wouldn't want to see him as a villain.
I'd be okay with an anti-hero type character
AC1 - 11/15/2012, 10:55 AM
Jedi Knight - emphasis on the Knight part. He'd thrive in the role and it'd be very different to Loki.
ThatOneDude - 11/15/2012, 11:00 AM
New Luke Skywalker... Just saying
Parker2017 - 11/15/2012, 11:02 AM
@SuspenseSmith Wait DIDN'T YOU SAID THAT YOU WORK FOR DISNEY NOW? there yeah go, go to lucas films and jsut suggest this choice :) as for who he can play since its not based on the thorm trilodgy it hink it's safe to say we will see the kids or grandkids of the skywalker-solo clan. hell i;d eb surprise if we saw him as Darth Vader XD of course who ever the new villian will be i tihnk we can have a him as maybe Jaden Solo's son.
Parker2017 - 11/15/2012, 11:03 AM
Maybe as Kal Skywalker? :3

Tom is a deceptively big - or at least tall - fella though. I'm not sure how he'd suit the "plucky hero" type. Definitely more a Han Solo, or a villain.
sciencefriction - 11/15/2012, 11:13 AM
Oh hell yeah!!! Bring it on, give him the biggest role you can, he's a rare talent within the world of Hollywood movies.
ZombieHunter - 11/15/2012, 11:28 AM
Hiddleston would be awesome as the new Sith Lord. He is that special kind of actor, that has the ability to tap into the dark side, no pun intended, of his personality and [frick]ing deliver. He would be good in any role he would be cast for, but just imagining him as a Sith sends cold chills down my spine.
