We Have Our First Rumored Title For STAR WARS EPISODE VII

Taking a break from casting rumors to bring you a possible subtitle for J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars flick. It's simple, it's classic sounding, and it might just be legit. Click on to find out what the seventh installment in the mega-popular franchise may be dubbed..

Talkbacker are citing several "trusted sources" that have confirmed to them that one POSSIBLE title for the new Star Wars movie could be:

Star Wars Episode VII: A New Dawn.

There are obvious parallels with "A New Hope", but after those much maligned prequel subtitles, it's not hard to believe that Disney and co. would go for something a bit simpler this time. Also, one of their sources confirms that Han Solo's infamous space-freighter The Millennium Falcon will be back, and that Tatooine will be featured in the story too. “… yes the falcon will make a big appearance, 1.1 scale size cross section is being constructed over at Pinewood, along with a power plant set and the famous cantina.” We aren't familiar with TalkBacker, but a couple of sites we do know and trust have run with this and seem to think it might be on the level, so we're running it as a rumor only. If "A New Dawn" does turn out to be the title though, how would that go down with you guys?

Its ok. Nothing too amazing or original but not anything horrificly bad. I'd be able to live with it even if its basicly ripping off "A New Hope".
JordanKing - 9/8/2013, 10:10 AM
I approve.
TTT0809 - 9/8/2013, 10:11 AM
I think this rumored title was posted on a while back.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Cash Cow Continues

Nothing special, a lot like A New Hope, so I imagine this is probably just a fan made title, but who knows.

Even though they've said they're not using the EU, always liked Heir to the Empire as a possible title, although it obviously depends on what the story is...
MrCBM56 - 9/8/2013, 10:13 AM
Generic...Nothing Special..meh...it's ok...
Roguish - 9/8/2013, 10:13 AM
A New Yawn...
Jazza815 - 9/8/2013, 10:19 AM
Would prefer Star Wars: Legacy.

But I guess it will do, for now.
DukeAcureds - 9/8/2013, 10:23 AM
I disapprove. We already had "A New..." You can't do one that's been done, already. Literally any crappy name would be better than repeating one.
Why not "Dawn of...".
They have to follow the naming scheme, right?
They haven't done a "Curse of..." yet or an "Escape from..." or something with the word "Peril" in it.
Get with the program, Disney!
RorMachine - 9/8/2013, 10:26 AM
Whatever it was, is or will turn out to be..you guys will hate it.
charlie2094 - 9/8/2013, 10:28 AM

Considering that doesn't at all fit in with the previous 6 films, or even slightly resemble the sort of titles Star Wars, highly unlikely a title like that will ever be used...if it was Star Wars Episode VII: Legacy of the "..." it might work. All just depends on the story though, can't just give it a random name, needs to actually be somewhat relevant to the film

Doesn't sound too bad, sounds like Star Wars to me.

Fake and gay.
RorMachine - 9/8/2013, 10:36 AM
I like A New Dawn..what the hell is wrong with it?
TheKingsHead - 9/8/2013, 10:37 AM
Mmmmmm..... I kinda like it.
Invictor - 9/8/2013, 10:38 AM
@DukeAcureds Is that what you said about The Dark Knight Rises?
SpiderParker - 9/8/2013, 10:38 AM
Nothing wrong with it but it reminds me of Twilight movies. -_-"
ThisIsHeavy - 9/8/2013, 10:38 AM
At least it's not "Age of -"
MrCameron - 9/8/2013, 10:38 AM
Yeah I'm with Ror, it makes sense thematically.
TheSuperguy - 9/8/2013, 10:38 AM
A New Dawn. I don't dislike it, but I don't particularly like it, either. Sounds okay.
amxt - 9/8/2013, 10:40 AM
A New Dawn? Sounds like they may have cast Kristen Stewart.
LEVITIKUZ - 9/8/2013, 10:41 AM
Very shitty.

Hell Episode 1 was Phantom Menace. Despite the film sucking, it was a cool title and creative.

These seems fuvking lazy but what do you expect with Abrams who will probably just adapt New Hope like he adapted Wrath Of Khan.

CantThinkOfUsername - 9/8/2013, 10:41 AM
Not bad
RorMachine - 9/8/2013, 10:41 AM
I just hope they don't go with something like "rise of", "age of", ..anything OF! A New Dawn confirms the new beginning, and also might even tie into the plot somehow. The Dawn might be like a new Jedi or Sith order or something!
hYPE - 9/8/2013, 10:42 AM
I can dig it
GodzillaKart - 9/8/2013, 10:42 AM
@Ror: I like the title too...but I will probably hate the movie...but only because the last good Star Wars movie came out in 1980 and Abrams has been a hit or miss director.

As always, I would love to be proven wrong.
RorMachine - 9/8/2013, 10:43 AM
"Hell Episode 1 was Phantom Menace. Despite the film sucking, it was a cool title and creative."

The Phantom Menace sounds like a cheap horror/porn title about a ghostly peeping tom. It's as bad as the movie was.
charlie2094 - 9/8/2013, 10:43 AM
Why does using "Dawn" make it sound like a Twilight movie? I know the 4th had dawn in the title but other than that? I don't understand...

This is an ok title. Definitely sense, being the film that it is, was just hoping for something more...probably have some sort of confirmation soon-ish
LEVITIKUZ - 9/8/2013, 10:44 AM
Ror lets no look to [frick]ing deep into this. New Dawn will be a new Empire type foe and forces and the new main cast. Nothing more.
Gmoney84 - 9/8/2013, 10:44 AM
I like it. It mimics A New Hope.
soberchimera - 9/8/2013, 10:44 AM
Why not Heir to the Empire?
marvel72 - 9/8/2013, 10:45 AM
not a bad title at all.
LEVITIKUZ - 9/8/2013, 10:46 AM
Also Ror, if Phantom Menace sounds like a horror it should. It was named after Darth Maul.
charlie2094 - 9/8/2013, 10:46 AM

Maybe the Empire isn't in the film? I too really like the Heir to the Empire story, but if it doesn't fit the story of the film and isn't relevant, then it wouldn't be used...be cool if it is, but A New Dawn makes sense for what it is, a new beginning for Star Wars and probably the rise of new Jedi and Sith etc..
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/8/2013, 10:47 AM
I don't think any star wars title should feature the same words as a previous installment.
JR - 9/8/2013, 10:47 AM
@Godzillafart Hit and miss? when was the last J.J. miss?
Indy - 9/8/2013, 10:48 AM
Newbus - 9/8/2013, 10:49 AM
Return of the Jedi -> A New Dawn.

I thought the return of Jedi order would signal the new dawn. So what happened in between?
