Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Play Aged Cyborg In TERMINATOR GENESIS
James Cameron's 1984 film, The Terminator was a career-launching-role for the then 37 year old Arnold Schwarzenegger ("Predator") and he's not ready to let it go, even at age 66. Sure, the wrinkles have set in and his hair isn't as thick as it used to be, but Arnold won't let a little thing like age keep him from playing his favorite cyborg. He tells MTV, "The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath," Schwarzenegger continued. "It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages."
While promoting his upcoming film, Sabotage, Arnold Schwarzenegger tells MTV, "Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh." Thus, he'll be an aged cyborg in Alan Taylor's Terminator: Genesis. Hit the jump to get to da choppa!
"Terminator deals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800," Arnold Schwarzenegger added, "and then what that model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets ahold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie, but I feel so good."
Terminator: Genesis will be directed by Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor. It's the first of a planned trilogy. Then again, every film seems to be the first of a planned trilogy these days. This time Arnold is joined by Jason Clarke (John Connor), Emilia Clarke (Sarah Connor), Jai Courtney (Kyle Reese) and J.K. Simmons (police detective).
