Silver Surfer

Release Date:
2009

Cast:

Summary:
When the planet-eating space God known as Galactus targeted the peaceful planet of Zenn-La for his dinner, native scientist Norrin Radd offered himself as sacrifice in return for the God's forbearance. He became the being's cosmic powered herald, and lost much of what made him human in the process. At Galactus' touch, even Norrin's flesh changed into impenetrable metallic-like armor, capable of weathering the rigors of space travel. On a surfboard-like conveyance, the Silver Surfer scouted the cosmos, choosing appropriate planets for his master's next feast. Without his humanity to guide him, will the Surfer choose Earth as Galactus' next happy meal?

The man behind Silver Surfer, Abe Sapien and most recently that creepy looking demon in Legion talks about a solo movie for Surfer as well as the rumors that he will be appearing in the Green Lantern.

This is a video tribute for Silver Surfer. The music used is the Silver Surfer theme from F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Say what you will about the movie, but at the very least they got Silver Surfer right.

This guy needs his own movie like Elektra needs... oh, wait, like Howard the Duck ...no, like Man-Thing needs his own...jeeze they'll make a movie out of anything. Coming next fall Mole-Man!

Howard the duck and Silver Surfer mentioned in the same breath. Okay. Well, there's no way to know all the characters out there. As a 50 year old, and re-reading the Silver Surfer series...I find that of all the "tragic hero" treatments, self loathing, sacrifice to a Christ-like metaphor....The Silver Surfer when written "properly" embodies all this to an unmatched level. A far cry from Mole-Man indeed. Now, whether or not the "real" Silver Surfer personna gets shown properly on the big screen is a different question. He should be a character that makes people feel emotional about and give their minds something to think about for a while. But.....a movie....would probably fail due to those who feel he's just suppposed to fly around looking cool and blow stuff up. However, Stracinski is an excellent writer so perhaps there's hope...

Doug Jones as The Silver Surfer was by far the best thing about FF2. Now Marvel should create a movie story around this well done performance to include other characters that have been in Fox/Marvel movies, such as The Phoenix, Galactus (a better look), Professor X. The sky is the limit(literally?).
