Uhm...cool I guess...the first movie was pretty meh, I loved how spawn looked and that cape still looks badass but yh...a second movie? NEXT.

well what Oscar winning actor, stuck in perpetually "young roles" (the "22 for the rest of your life" comment), is doing so poorly currently that they're hitting Todd McFarlane up all the time? Someone who wants to hop on the comic book movie gravy train?

Forest Whitaker is an amazing (winning) actor, and not afraid to take on this kind of B-movie. Cuba's the only other African American Oscar winner I can think of, and he is most certainly hard up for a job. the more I think about it, the more it's Cuba, and the proportionately less I care

@ Scabs - right on, though I guess I sort of cancelled out a lot of those, thinking Washington and Freeman wouldn't be THAT interested in this, and some you mentioned were nominated (rightfully so) but didn't win. Cheadle has his, Howard probably wants a shot at redemption. I hope Honsou holds out for a Marvel movie.

The best thing that could happen to Spawn is for Todd to just hang up the reigns and pass it off to a new creative team. He switched Spawn's identity to this Jim Downing BullSh!t because he's pissed off at the live Al Simmons.

Changing Spawn's identity was the worst in a long string of bad decisions. It doesn't work. Miles Morales, Ben Reily, Otto Octavius will never be SpiderMan, only Peter Parker (marvel [frick]ups). It won't work for Spawn either.

I was looking forward to more Spawn stuff, like 10 years ago. But all this BS about, "yeah, I'm working on the script" crap has gotten OLD and IRRITATING.

Go away Todd.

If Todd in all honesty, is serious about this emerging Spawn film, he needs to get an African American that can seriously act and capture the charisma/psyche. Not only that but Todd needs to make Spawn a character that is memorable and iconic. This can be like DREDD 3D, but box office wise, they need to press marketing in theatres with films that are not only rated-R but PG-13, it will broaden the viewership.

Spawn is such an overrated character. He got popular because of Todd's artwork but I have never read a Spawn comic and felt glad I spent that money. The character is lame 1990s at its best.

we gotta think, is it an oscar winner for the role of spawn or one of the other characters? there arent that many black oscar winners so i think the person who hes talkin about could be for a supporting role.
