The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Really like the first rat lizard
iZinDiaN - 7/14/2013, 7:23 PM
The last two pics are disgusting (in a bad way).
TheOneAboveAll - 7/14/2013, 7:24 PM
Why no snout? What if when he comes back then he has evolved into a stronger strain of Lizard and he has a snout as he has become much more animal like?

LEVITIKUZ - 7/14/2013, 7:34 PM
The second one is [frick]ing badass. Could have been a good movie.

Instead we get a shit movie.
Dandy - 7/14/2013, 7:35 PM

I really liked the movie. Not as good as Spider-Man 2 maybe but definitely the second best Spidey film. I can't wait for TASM 2!

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 7/14/2013, 7:42 PM
I was so pumped when the leaked comic-con image looked like he had a snout. Then we got what we got.
NeoBaggins - 7/14/2013, 7:42 PM
Amazing Spider-man, Hoodwinked, the Smurfs and Grown-Ups all got sequels.

THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 7/14/2013, 7:48 PM
Even if he kept his lab coat on the whole movie, he would have looked 5X better

CaptainObvious - 7/14/2013, 7:51 PM
The CG rat was one of the worst effects I have ever seen in a film. That was SyFy Channel bad.
DioFoRio - 7/14/2013, 7:51 PM
I concur Dark
jessepostal - 7/14/2013, 7:51 PM
Looks like the rat monkey in Dead Alive! Or the lab rat in cap 1990 :)
LEVITIKUZ - 7/14/2013, 7:53 PM
Someone else how levi is such an asshole?

Ok I've read this like 5 times out loud, there is something grammatical wrong with this sentence because it makes no sense.
LEVITIKUZ - 7/14/2013, 7:53 PM
Yea where did that Comic Con footage of him with the snout go?

I kind of liked that actor(cant remember his name) who played Dr. Connors/Lizard but The reason why they made the Lizard look like a goomba from that Super Mario Bros. movie ill never know. I wanted to see the snout and him wearing that damn lab coat.
ManDeth - 7/14/2013, 8:00 PM
@LEVITIKUZ None of them are "badass". And despite all that CGI Todd McFarlane's old fashioned hand drawings of the Lizard destroy every other version.

This isnt the 80's when they had to use puppets. They couldve easily done it right. But someone got the idea it enhanced the character if it looked more human. They got the wrong idea.

Wish they had gone with the more feral lizard. I guess having a talking "smart" lizard was the easiest way to have the shitty script play out.
superbatspiderman - 7/14/2013, 8:09 PM
I thought the special effects in The Amazing Spider-Man were not the best. The Lizard looked fake most of the time and he really needs the snout. My favorite Lizard was on the New Spider-man the Animated Series which was that 3D animated one on MTV. He looked like a muscular velociraptor which is how I picture him.
MexicanSexyman - 7/14/2013, 8:10 PM
I loved the look of the lizard in the movie. In some parts of the movie, the lizard looked so real. TASM >>>>>>>>>> Rami's Spiderman trilogy.
xfan320 - 7/14/2013, 8:10 PM
@ManDeth--agreed! McFarlane's designs are by the best!

The lab coat helped IMMENSELY w the look they ended up going with.. I'll never undersatnd why they didn't keep that coat on him!
Ocelot - 7/14/2013, 8:15 PM
The first Lizard pic looks good, the last two look like abominations, downright terrible.

Lizard couldn't have a snout and look feral as they wouldn't have been able to emote the face properly and would look odd when talking.

It(the snout) works for a creature that doesn't talk and acts like an animal/creature but for one that talks and acts like a human being(lizard in this film was intelligent and not a mindless beast) it doesn't, hence why the didn't use it.
Nick56 - 7/14/2013, 8:17 PM
sorry but these still look like shit
Mike89 - 7/14/2013, 8:27 PM

I didnt Like TASM but ill admit Stan Lees cameo was hilarious! His Best Cameo yet.
LEVITIKUZ - 7/14/2013, 8:31 PM

I found some more concept art for you:

TheWolverine08 - 7/14/2013, 8:33 PM
Will never understand all the TASM haters. Was the movie perfect? No. But it isn't as bad as you guys make it out to be.
Lizardking310 - 7/14/2013, 8:33 PM
Goomba '
GoddamnBatman - 7/14/2013, 8:36 PM
He tore it off cuz it was shredded from the bullets, plus that's how he looked in the New Animated series
GoddamnBatman - 7/14/2013, 8:40 PM
Agreed Wolverine08 It's blind hatred for a good film that is close to the comics. There's a lot of hatred for the lack of Lizard snout, but as some people pointed out, he would've looked sillier than Roger's helmet in Avengers. Besides I didn't see much of a snout, if any, in Lizard's early appearances in comics
LEVITIKUZ - 7/14/2013, 8:43 PM
Who gives a shit about the deleted scenes? If they weren't in the film, they don't [frick]ing matter unless you do some type of extended version like with Spider-Man 2.1 or with the Watchmen film how that's been extended.
TheWolverine08 - 7/14/2013, 8:48 PM
@SweetTooth316 Frankly, I think most TASM dislikers are people who grew up with the Raimi Spider Man, and are angry to see their childhood replaced so soon.
GoddamnBatman - 7/14/2013, 8:49 PM
X-Men The Last Stand had deleted scenes that would've made the film better IMO. I'm still waiting for that directors/extended cut that Ratner talked about
GoddamnBatman - 7/14/2013, 8:52 PM
Yea I can't feel their pain, I grew up watching Batman films/animated series, and I love TDK trilogy
Dandy - 7/14/2013, 8:56 PM
The lack of a snout most likely came from the script wanting the Lizard to talk, thus they went with the Ditko version of the character.

It would have looked awkward to have him talking out of a snout......and it would have just made him look like a raptor from Jurassic Park.

Fact is that besides omitting the wrestling match, The Amazing Spider-Man was closer to the source material and a better origin overall. I like Raimi's first film a lot, but it suffered from a disjointed narrative where the first half and second half could have existed independently.
LEVITIKUZ - 7/14/2013, 8:57 PM
Performances mean nothing if the story is shit.
TheWolverine08 - 7/14/2013, 8:58 PM
TASM is better than both Spider Man 1 and 3. So I don't really understand the hate.
