Is it just me or does Alex Ross give his characters coconut crushing thighs?
Dotanuki - 6/16/2014, 1:40 PM
Beautiful work as usual. Glad he didn't use the more garish color palate like he used with the Avengers cover.

Who is the old man with the glasses?
joppida - 6/16/2014, 1:40 PM
All you can eat honey BBQ baby back ribs ok? $250

OneBadDay - 6/16/2014, 1:55 PM
I know what he was going for, but come on Alex...that lizard...
HAILHYDRA - 6/16/2014, 1:55 PM
Doc Ock looks a lot like Chris Farley
Mrcool210 - 6/16/2014, 1:57 PM
"Who is the old man with the glasses?"

Thats the tinkerer.
SidDaAstroSloth - 6/16/2014, 1:59 PM
Aunt May looks like she walked in on Peter wanking
Jollem - 6/16/2014, 2:01 PM
in fact, i'm pretty sure that's the sandman
SWelch - 6/16/2014, 2:05 PM
@Dotanuki He is called the Tinker. He first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #2(April 1963). Real name is Phineas Mason and he is a gifted super genus engineer. He builds high tech gadgets for criminals.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 6/16/2014, 2:05 PM
Alex Ross is killing it with these covers and posters
dethpillow - 6/16/2014, 2:06 PM
yeah, kinda seems more like Sandman to me.

@MrMartinMarvel - :)
Dotanuki - 6/16/2014, 2:08 PM
Thanks. That's what I thought but wasn't sure as I never felt that he was among Parker's bigger enemies compared to Mysterio or even Electro (who are both missing). Wonder if Marvel execs told them to leave Electro off the cover along with both of the Osbornes.
dethpillow - 6/16/2014, 2:09 PM
oh, Lizard, hahaha.

makes u just wanna get a towelette and clean out all that junk in his mouth, the poor guy. that's a pretty scary looking Lizard tho, i like that.
Indy - 6/16/2014, 2:10 PM
cool cover!
Humperdink - 6/16/2014, 2:10 PM
Dat Lizard!

LOL I love it.
He looks like a muppet that got into someones stash.

dethpillow - 6/16/2014, 2:11 PM
@Dotanuki - i think he's in there cuz he's one of the early ones. that's partly why it makes more sense to have Sandman in there than Norman.

when did Spider-Man first fight Doom tho? i'm not remembering that at all.
Himura - 6/16/2014, 2:13 PM
Is that suppose to be Mary Jane or Lucille Ball?
dethpillow - 6/16/2014, 2:14 PM
@MrMartinMarvel - i think it's cuz Norman is just so damned freaky,

and that's what his hair does. it's the freak. his hair can only obey.

u think at least once tho, they'd show him having grown it out and straightened it, u know? it's probably a lot longer than any of us thinks.
dethpillow - 6/16/2014, 2:16 PM
Norman's totally that boss dude on Parks on Rec when he gets together with his ex-wife and ends up in jail. haha. that's kinda how i like to picture Norman dressing at home. like just for a quiet night in.
Dotanuki - 6/16/2014, 2:22 PM
Pretty sure that's Sandman. He looks gritty.
YeezusWept - 6/16/2014, 2:43 PM

Norman Osborn's hair is wavy. It's always been like that.

marvel72 - 6/16/2014, 2:54 PM
another beautiful cover by alex ross, marvel need him to do the artwork on an event series.
CapnMurphy2021 - 6/16/2014, 3:05 PM
Ross is jamazing!

Love anything he does... And I agree with Marvel72 ... But... The current Original Sin cover art has been pretty rad!
Mrcool210 - 6/16/2014, 3:06 PM
"We all know what Uncle Ben told Peter about power and responsibility, but there were some secrets he kept from Peter…"

So the untold story from tasm is canon now? 0_0
DeusExSponge - 6/16/2014, 3:07 PM
Man if only we can get Mr Ross to do some interior artwork for Marvel. Kingdom Come was just so beautiful!
DrDoom - 6/16/2014, 3:10 PM
Hey look! It's me!
CapnMurphy2021 - 6/16/2014, 3:11 PM
Kingdom Come is great! As was Justice(another Ross interior).

Completely agree!

I wish we could get a bit more one-shot storylines from marvel(in the same vein as K.C.)... Though I really enjoyed the What If:AOU... And I didn't even read the AOU storyline...

Anyone have any recommendations?
blackandyellow - 6/16/2014, 3:25 PM
Nobody wears pleated pants anymore. Get with the times, Pete.
BoneSawIsReady - 6/16/2014, 3:34 PM
Oh look there's a Gorn.... where's Capt Kirk when you need him?
sameoldthing - 6/16/2014, 3:47 PM
Someone mentioned Peter "wanking".... Ever wonder if his Spider grip caused a problem during a jerk session?
No..just me?
dethpillow - 6/16/2014, 3:50 PM
@CapnMurphy - I totally forgot this even came out, but they just did a one shot graphic novel called Spider-Man Family Business. it didn't look good to me at the time, but just read about it now and it sounds kinda interesting. I think when I heard it was about Peter suddenly finding his long lost sister, I didn't pay much more attention.
But now I'm curious. written by Mark Waid and James Robinson and art by Gabriele Dell'Otto and Werther Dell'Edera. and it's done in a painted style on top of pencils.

it's not a what if, but it's kinda set loosely continuity-wise.
sounds kinda interesting actually.

Marvel recently brought back little Marvel Knights mini runs, Spider-Man, X-Men and Hulk, but the stuff I read from those just wasn't very good, i thought. the Spider-Man one started off promising, all this trippy art a lot of the words were built into the art kinda like old 60s Nick Fury in some ways, but it didn't add up to much by the end.
staypuffed - 6/16/2014, 3:50 PM
That is epic.
RockNRollFrankenstein - 6/16/2014, 3:58 PM
Why does he always draw Peter Parker like it's still the 1960's?
CapnMurphy2021 - 6/16/2014, 4:06 PM
Dethpillow - gracias yet again!

Just finished the "Luther Strode" series.... Really entertaining!
Hope you've checked out some of the stuff I've been hyped about lately!
I just finished "ff" and Loved it... Going to slowly delve into your recommendations as I'm keeping up with about 16 books right now...
Revival and deadly class are really cool too
