Emma Is A Stone Cold Fox On New THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Wallpaper

Sony Pictures has released a new The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wallpaper which offers a new look at Emma Stone's character Gwen Stacy, and bears that ominous message from her late father: "I want you to promise me something. Leave Gwen out of it."

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Sorry Emma but Vancamp has taken the lead for now :)
SimonM7 - 3/15/2014, 11:33 PM
Okay, I like them playing this up. It's always going to be handled pretty clumsily as a story beat in the first one, but this may retroactively mend it a little.
Bearjew - 3/15/2014, 11:33 PM
Vancamp is a plain beauty, nothing special about her. Stone is beautiful like a 1950's movie star. Classic beauty.
GetsugaTensho22 - 3/15/2014, 11:37 PM
Emma Stone reminds me of Michael Jackson. I really don't understand her appeal.
OnePunchBaldy - 3/15/2014, 11:40 PM
Stone Cold dead..
Jollem - 3/15/2014, 11:42 PM
"the breaking promise thing" was rather brilliant for the story and something amateur noobs will still whine about for a little bit now, thinking they discovered a "plot hole" or something :)
Jollem - 3/15/2014, 11:47 PM
@Gwen - when peter's not around, feel free to use me as you'd like. i won't even say a word if that's what you'd prefer

@MJ - ditto

@FeliciaH - four's company?
SimonM7 - 3/15/2014, 11:49 PM
I'm not entirely sure what an "amateur noob" is in this context, but there's legitimacy in questioning that aspect of the first movie. You can agree/disagree with the choice to different degrees, too, of course - not that the internet is a place for anything but polar opposites and extremes.
Jollem - 3/15/2014, 11:52 PM
oh, believe me, i enjoy hearing every person's varied thoughts on the exact same subject. i think yours in this situation is silly, and that's my opinion and also what i believe :)
SimonM7 - 3/15/2014, 11:54 PM
And what is mine?
TheGambitFreak - 3/15/2014, 11:55 PM
Yep... Photoshop can do that to a person. They used the airbrush tool a little too heavily for my taste. I liked Stone cause she was really naturally pretty. Freckles especially, now the smudging done to her face on this wallpaper has rid of most of them.
Jollem - 3/15/2014, 11:56 PM
fun fact: gwen was fine with what peter did. you haters can get your panties bunched up, but emma's were unbunched. so much it's like she wasn't even wearing any. maybe if you guys were ever in a relationship with a girl you liked you'd understand
TheGambitFreak - 3/15/2014, 11:58 PM
@Jollem It's not any plot holes that piss me off, it's the fact Peter shat all over that promise within 5 minutes. "Sometimes those are the best kind." Then she smiles... WTF?! Daddy just died and made your boyfriend promise to not put you in harms way and... WTF?! Argh.
loki668 - 3/16/2014, 12:08 AM
In my opinion, Emma Stone would be a stone-cold fox even sitting on her couch, eating pop-tarts. ESPECIALLY if it was MY couch!!!!
SimonM7 - 3/16/2014, 12:10 AM
Yeah. The problem isn't even really that the promise is broken, it's how it's conveyed in the film. Anyone - however good hearted - may break a promise when they haven't learned about consequences -- when it's about something stronger than your "moral compass" at that age. That is the intended effect from a story perspective. It's still handled very, very clumsily, and the smirking Peter and the way it comes off as complete nonchalance and inconsideration do not put it across the right way at all.

It should be about Peter not understanding the weight of his promise and the dire consequences of someone being in Spider-Man's life - knowing his identity. Having it play like it's him sticking it to her dad is just super unfortunate.

Of course, having problems with that reads as I HATE THE MOVIE BOOOOO! on the internet, though. Good job on the "you have no girlfriends!" comment, though, Jollem. I'm beginning to understand what a professional not-noob is in this context.
SimonM7 - 3/16/2014, 12:12 AM
On a completely different note.. not getting the freckles hate by photo "professionals" either. But then I never understood why they remove most of the things they do in touch-ups.

@Freak-A-Leak - ahh...more than 5 minutes. it's for love, dude. should peter never have seen gwen again? really? would that be the best way to go about things? this story point was strong, bold, and very impacting. that's what i like from my movies, let alone specifically cbms. ya know, gwen DID very much enjoy "sometimes those are the best kind". i did. i also liked baz's romeo and juliet. i also like frozen juice products over ice cream. now i'm just rambling

peter DID keep his promise. for an undisclosed amount of time. at least a few days. enough for her to come to his damn house for the first time and be all like "what the [frick]?". he did keep that promise. but he loves that girl. can you blame him? i don't
SimonM7 - 3/16/2014, 12:22 AM
Ah, right. Gotcha Anno. Thanks for the heads-up.
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 12:34 AM
@SimonM7 - Anno was banned from another cbm site and the users were happy. but i could care less what you say/think about me :)

TheVirgin - 3/16/2014, 12:41 AM
Emma Stone is adorable!! Arghhhh!!!
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 12:47 AM
i read a little of the link a user posted. the comments were along the lines of "i'm glad he's finally gone. yeah, he always had something to say, didn't he? just a cretin. etc. etc."
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 12:48 AM
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 12:53 AM
i'm just waiting for you to make a least one valid point. give me something to work with

Alien - 3/16/2014, 12:54 AM
@ Jollem and AnnoDomini
Get it over with, and just hug it out already you two.
mgeoff88 - 3/16/2014, 12:54 AM
Emma Stone is very pretty. Yah, I can't stand airbrushing. I think freckles are cute.

@Jollem Peter hasn't told Gwen about his father's promise yet. That's why he is guilt is manifesting itself to the point where he keeps imagining seeing Captain Stacy around NYC.

I know Peter has broken his promise, because the writers want his relationship with Gwen to be a struggle. Him breaking the promise that fast though makes him look selfish. If he really cared about Gwen, he would be willing to sacrifice his own happiness to keep her safe.

Kind of like lying to your best friend's boyfriend about you two fooling around, even though you want to be with her:

Sacrificing your own happiness to do what's right is a life lesson. To be fair, I know Peter is very young, so he hasn't learned that lesson yet.
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 12:57 AM
@mgeoff - no. she knows

@GrandmasterB -

Jollem - 3/16/2014, 12:58 AM
@Anno - almost nothing you have stated as fact about these movies is true
SimonM7 - 3/16/2014, 12:59 AM
Okay, I should probably re-iterate that I don't think Amazing Spider-Man is awful. I've not implied that I do, but so far I sincerely doubt most comments directed at me come from a place of.. you know.. having read what I wrote.

And whatever history you guys have with one-another is really none of my business. I'm just glad someone points out when I'm trying to elaborate on an opinion with people that will just resort to petty remarks and jabs, and aren't interested anyway.
DaVinci31 - 3/16/2014, 1:05 AM
SimonM7 - 3/16/2014, 1:06 AM
Yeah exactly. And I've a little too much faith in turning the conversation into something worthwhile despite that, so I appreciate being tipped off that I'm probably wasting my time. :)
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 1:14 AM
@Simon - do what you want, say what you want. i don't care

@Anno -nope, don't hate you. you are too insignificant in my life to hate

Jollem - 3/16/2014, 1:16 AM
as for tasm 2, 3, 4 and venom and the sinister 6 and who knows what else

DaVinci31 - 3/16/2014, 1:21 AM

I seriously just laughed out loud, didn't even see that haha
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 1:24 AM
@Anno - no, you don't understand. i'll converse with you, but

"For me, you're somewhere between a cockroach and that white stuff that accumulates at the corner of your mouth when you're really thirsty."
Jollem - 3/16/2014, 1:30 AM
@Anoo - all i read was the link a user posted on this site to your shameful banning. they were so happy

Jollem - 3/16/2014, 1:35 AM
i said all i read is what a user posted here. it was pretty much the truth

Jollem - 3/16/2014, 1:43 AM
you have never made a valid point about these movies
