Felicity Jones Barely Dodges 'Black Cat' Question Talking THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

More than likely indicating that she could be playing Felicia Hardy in the already villain-packed superhero sequel, actress Felicity Jones has talked a bit about working on The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Even with all the spoiler-ific and subtle Twitter images coming from the set lately, Felicity Jones' role and overall inclusion in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been a huge mystery. Considering the multiple villains that're are already in the Marc Webb-directed sequel who're being set for later installments, which were given 2016 and 2018 release dates yesterday, heavy speculation points to the British thesp playing Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat. Now during a video interview for her recent film with Flicks & The City, Felicity Jones gives the impression that that possibility is accurate.

"I really enjoyed it because it was so different from anything I've ever done before. And just testing a different thing in you as an actor, because the scale is so enormous. but I had a really fun time." The Flicks And The City interviewer then straightforwardly asked Jones is she looking forward to everyone seeing her as Black Cat, to which Felicity stammered, "Um, well, uhhh... possibly. I don't know, yeah. I kind of, it's umm...yeah, if that happens, that would be wonderful, yeah."

In “The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2,” for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

RorMachine - 6/18/2013, 8:05 AM
Ha, commend the interviewer..almost had her with that!
invalensname5 - 6/18/2013, 8:07 AM
She would have made a great MJ!!
russburlingame - 6/18/2013, 8:09 AM
@ror - I always say, the last 30 seconds to a minute of that kind of interview is where the actors have to watch out. If the PR person cuts you off, you haven't lost anything, but if you GET a response to a question like that it's gold.
PsyGuy - 6/18/2013, 8:17 AM
^ How is that animation better than Avengers Assemble?
JordanKing - 6/18/2013, 8:18 AM
Owned! Good job interviewer.
WawelDragon - 6/18/2013, 8:23 AM
HA, tahat was easy to predict.
HelaGood - 6/18/2013, 8:23 AM
yeah i dont think shes black cat... more like betty brant.
aurorsand147 - 6/18/2013, 8:29 AM
haha busted. she definitely is Black Cat, and she is a good actress. i dont think there would be so much secrecy for Betty Brant.
ParisSun - 6/18/2013, 8:30 AM
Interviewer was sneaky.

I would love her as Black Cat. Felicity and Emma make Shailene look like the odd duck out. What happened there?
ParisSun - 6/18/2013, 8:31 AM
@black and yellow, Remember when Mary Jane was hot.

@blackandyellow When Colonel Hardy was Lex Luthor.
connorblaze - 6/18/2013, 8:39 AM
I think Danaerys from Game of Thrones would make a wicked Black Cat. This Felicity is, however, a fetching minx.
Fantine - 6/18/2013, 8:40 AM
She is defiantly Black Cat. All be in a supporting Black Cat, not a huge character but will probs be used in the sequels more, Gwen/MJ triangle in this film, then after Gwen kicks the bucket in 2, MJ/Black Cat triangle. The evidence shes Cat though is there, I mean no set photos? When filming has been flooded with loads? Means all her scenes were filmed on a sound stage, or maybe required high wire stunts?
WeaponX7785 - 6/18/2013, 8:48 AM
Great another reason not to see this movie. Another example of shit casting...a flat chested woman playing a busty beauty like Felicia Hardy. Absolutely Ridiculous
TheWolverine08 - 6/18/2013, 8:49 AM
I think TASM 2 and Captain America:The Winter Soldier are right now the top two contenders for best CBM of 2014.
LFANCH - 6/18/2013, 8:51 AM
@theodora or they were all filmed inside, as in inside the daily bugle, as in she could just be playing betty.

Vaportrail - 6/18/2013, 9:00 AM
My guess is either she's Black Cat and a bad liar, or she's Betty (she looks like Betty!) and didn't really read the comics and was like "Oh, does Betty become Black Cat"?

She looks like Betty. That's my $0.02.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 6/18/2013, 9:10 AM
She doesn't seem like a good fit for Felicia, but then Webb already made two screwy female casting choices...

I doubt we'd see Betty without Jonah or Robbie, but maybe they're keeping the Bugle stuff secret.
Tevii - 6/18/2013, 9:10 AM
My guess is, she's Betty brant, but she answered that way because she has no idea about the comics.
For all she knows Betty Brant turns into Black Cat, she doesnt know Felicity Hardy does, so she just rolled with the question.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 6/18/2013, 9:11 AM
She doesn't know who the Black Cat is but didn't want to admit it. That's all we've learned here.
bobevanz - 6/18/2013, 9:13 AM
This is the end isn't that great.... It has three really funny scenes. The rest is meh..... The backstreet boys?! Really?!! Ppl hate talking about religion on here, i doubt most of you will like it. Spiderman rocks!!
genesis609 - 6/18/2013, 9:17 AM
i never thought they could find a uglier girl then k. dunst to play mary jane... lol but they did... wtf do they find these actresses?!?!? LMAO
Logan5 - 6/18/2013, 9:20 AM
Man "This Is The End" must be extremely funny for SuperJagerNaut's high end a$$ to be campaigning it on almost every article thread. :-D You are free.., to troll as you wish.., I guess.
theowl - 6/18/2013, 9:21 AM
She really looks like Betty Brant! @Spideyman - sure, thats not the best picture of Shailene Woodley.. but she is stunning in real life and in movies. Trust me, she will be perfect as Mj
GreenLantern519 - 6/18/2013, 9:26 AM
People still saying she's Betty Brandt, she basically confirmed that she's playing Felicia Hardy at least by saying "If that happens that'd be great" in response to the Black Cat question, giving the impression that she'll eventually play Black Cat. Also if she was Betty Brandt, why would they keep that a secret? That's not a character that would be a HUGE surprise if they showed up..
GreenLantern519 - 6/18/2013, 9:29 AM
And you don't think they would have told her that her playing Felicia Hardy could eventually turn into Black Cat? Please

kevberg - 6/18/2013, 9:39 AM
Superjagernaut...who paid you to post that stuff for the movie?
Voytko1 - 6/18/2013, 10:58 AM
Dang it! What's all this about 2016 and 2018??
FanboyTrump - 6/18/2013, 12:18 PM
This is the End was [frick]ing hilarious
spectre88 - 6/18/2013, 12:19 PM
Tricky tricky
AmazingFantasy - 6/18/2013, 2:23 PM
She could be either Cat or Betty
OnePunchBaldy - 6/18/2013, 4:26 PM
I think Spider-Man works better with multiple villains. Spider-Man 3 just sucked cause they chose crappy villains (aside from Venom)
OnePunchBaldy - 6/18/2013, 4:26 PM
But Venom was crappy in the movie.
Triptheorist - 6/19/2013, 2:09 AM
If it wasn't for the production values, I'd swear The Amazing Spider-Man was a CW show.
PeterParker1991 - 6/19/2013, 7:17 AM
