Gwen Stacy's (Emma Stone) Valedictorian Speech On THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Set

Gwen Stacy's (Emma Stone) Valedictorian Speech On THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Set

In Gwen Stacy's (Emma Stone) valedictorian speech she talks about how all of her fellow classmates feel as though they are immortal. Hmm... foreshadowing? Listen to the speech and come see Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) seize the moment by kissing Gwen.

In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter Parker hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter Parker when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

CaptainProg - 6/2/2013, 10:32 AM
When will Spider Man be a MAN and not a HS kid on film? When they reboot this piece of shit is back to High School... again.

TypicalParkerLuck - 6/2/2013, 10:40 AM

mizeatwizad52 - 6/2/2013, 10:49 AM
Holy $h*t, the GIF with the dude with dreads climbing the wall is str8 ridiculous!!!!
FreedomFreeLife - 6/2/2013, 10:56 AM
Well, look last articels. People complained that Peter is teenager, acts too realisticly and kiss Gwen Stacy too many time. This makes this movie to them Twilight
Earth69 - 6/2/2013, 11:02 AM
I really dug TASM, but im a bit worried about this one, mainly because of Rhino. I just don't know how that wont come off as goofy somehow. Electro seems cool though, and hopefully they wait until TASM3 with Green Goblin to off Gwen.
CaptainAmerica31 - 6/2/2013, 11:03 AM
I wonder if they will play this speech or parts of it as Gwen dies and we see flashbacks of her and Peter as she's is falling
ALmazing - 6/2/2013, 11:09 AM
I don't really this Peter Parker, Ithink TASM2 won't be as good as Raimin's Spiderman 2.
CaptainAmerica31 - 6/2/2013, 11:17 AM
@Nailbaiter what did you rate TASM?
MightyZeus - 6/2/2013, 11:22 AM
@ALmight, Whut?

I don't get some of you "fanboys". You claim this movie is going to suck and yet you literally know nothing about this movie at all. The only thing you're basing your opinion on is set pictures of scenes that you don't know the context to, a previous movie (which has nothing to do with this movie, other than the same characters) and you haven't seen a trailer or any kind of footage whatsoever. It makes no sense to hate on this film, yet. It may be shit once it hits theaters, or if could be a masterpiece but you won't know til it comes out.

You all asked for new villains and that's what you've got so far. The lizard, electro and rhino are all new, never before seen villains in any movie. And none of you know if the green goblin will show up, yet most of you assume he will be in this and you even judge the movie based off this. You all say "there are too many villains in this movie!" But so far it's just two. You say "there are too many new characters in this!", but it's just Mary Jane, and the two mentioned villains. You don't know if Glenn will die, or how much screen time MJ will have. And yet you still bitch.

Oh, and the costume. You idiots all complained the costume in the first one sucked. You get a literal comic-to-movie costume in the sequel and you still complain claiming they're copying the original. Well, that's cause that's Spider-Man's freaking costume!!! They fixed something that was a legitimate complaint from the first and you still complain when they listen to you!

No wonder we are ignored when it comes to opinions about how movies "should" be. Smh
theowl - 6/2/2013, 12:28 PM
I dont wanna see all these setphotos.. but I have to! @LMFAO - yea, it's almost like people complain about to many villains, and then after that why Green Goblin is not in the movie ( and then why he is in the movie). People come out very stupid this way. They haven't put out any trailers or official pictures yet so I don't why people pretend to know how this movie will turn out.
theowl - 6/2/2013, 12:30 PM
Just my opinion though
HOTSHOT - 6/2/2013, 12:32 PM
So anybody who doesn't like the new movie is a hater and a fanboy? Do you guys honestly think we wanted the movie to suck? We didn't. We go to a movie hoping to love it. There were far too many things in this movie that annoyed me. These pics annoy me because of the same reason I disliked the first movie...Andrew Garfield as NERDY Peter Parker. Basically anybody calling him a realistic nerd obviously never met any real nerds.
HOTSHOT - 6/2/2013, 12:34 PM
Plus these pics only remind me of the final line of the last movie which had me furious.
LMFA0 - 6/2/2013, 12:36 PM

The only real problem I have with it is that negativity breads negativity. People are like sheep, once someone says something negative towards something others tend to follow the trend. Perfect example would be TDK. I personally like the movie a lot. But about a year after it came out there was this overwhelming negativity that hit the web from fanboys and it spread like wild fire. All the sudden, the most praised comic book movie yet was looked upon by many fanboys as crap.

Now I'm all about different opinions, if said opinions are based on sound reason. I realize people like to come on here and bitch for no reason sometimes and I tend to ignore it, but my whole point was that people are making rash judgements on a film they know very little about.

I may be in the minority, at least based off of comments I've read on various ASM2 articles, but I have hope that this movie may be good. I wasn't impressed with the first but if you base your opinion on the sequel to a movie off of the first then you'll end up possibly making a big mistake. My example? TDK and TDKR. People assumed TDKR would be the greatest thing since sliced bread (TDK) but that just wasnt the case. Not a horrible movie, but no where near what people hyped it to be. This is the opposite if this

And people did bitch about the costume. Not as much as other stuff, but people cried fowl on it looking too similar to the original trilogy
MrCBM56 - 6/2/2013, 12:41 PM
Haha for the people who was complaining about Peter wearing his spidey costume doing the graduation, it's now obvious he was late to his graduation fighting crime and he had to change out of his costume into his graduation suit.
LMFA0 - 6/2/2013, 12:43 PM

Not what I'm saying at all. You can like the original trilogy if you want, I still do. All I'm saying is that this version isn't that version of the character. So to try and compare them, other than it being Spider-Man, is kinda dumb.

The way Webb is portraying Peter is not the "classic nerd", he's socially awkward due to his childhood and circumstances. How would you feel if your parents left you and never came back? You'd probably be a little quiet and socially awkward, too
Seejay - 6/2/2013, 12:47 PM

Looking forward to it.

Garfield is a better Spiderman than Tobey.
CaptainAmerica31 - 6/2/2013, 12:48 PM
@LMAO has a point on the " negativity breeds negativity" comment. One user(won't mention his name) on the other thread happened to say something negative and everyone followed suit and started picking up thier pitchforks. That thread was the first full on battle b/w TASM fans and people who hated It or haters or whatever you wanna call them, for this film. That was the first time in awhile for TASM I saw hate. It was over a dumb graduation scene too so idk why there was so much resentment
LEVITIKUZ - 6/2/2013, 1:14 PM
That one user who's name shalt be mention has arrived.

Thythoutrust - 6/2/2013, 1:16 PM
Emma Stone is too old, I can't keep my mind off this tiny detail. Wasn't a big fan of TASM, thought it was better than Spider-Man 3, but then again, Iron-Man 2 was better than SM3... So yeah...
LMFA0 - 6/2/2013, 1:19 PM

That's for sure lol
LEVITIKUZ - 6/2/2013, 1:20 PM
Ok I may hate TASM, but don't insult Emma. That's my girl.
CaptainAmerica31 - 6/2/2013, 1:21 PM
Lol he has arrived
CaptainAmerica31 - 6/2/2013, 1:23 PM
I'm also keeping expectations low, I don't want to be disappointed so in gonna keep them low
LEVITIKUZ - 6/2/2013, 1:27 PM
If some of you like TASM, good for you but I still think its a shit movie. There was no character development for Peter, Connors was portrayed horrible, Lizard was shit, they Lizard's plan is a direct rip off of Ra's al Ghul's in Batman Begins just in a different way, and more. They just combined Spider-Man, Batman Begins, and added Lizard. They were more concerned with rushing and getting this movie out to do a sequel then doing this film justice. There is a reason Man of Steel and Batman Begins looked great and is. They solely focused on that movie and not what comes next. You can't say that about TASM with that after credits scene. TASM was like Green Lantern: focused on what's next, not what your working on now. Some stuff was good in TASM but most was bad. No matter how you feel there was NO and I repeat NO reason to tell the origin story again 10 years later. People still remember Spider-Man, why tell that story again?

TASM2 will make or break this franchise.
Jollem - 6/2/2013, 1:36 PM
@Levitikuz - i think every one of your opinions is completley invalid and even ridiculous. if you didn't like the movie, good for you
Brainiac13 - 6/2/2013, 1:46 PM
LEVITIKUZ - 6/2/2013, 1:52 PM
How can you say that my reasons are ridiculous? Lets think for a second: how can you call Peter responsible when he breaks the promise of a dead man? Sure we all know Gwen will die but why do we have to wait for him to stop being a douche? So I watch a whole movie to find out he will be responsible in the next? That's stupid.

Connors is suppose to be a nice guy, family man and doctor. First off his family isn't even in the movie. Ok and because he lost an arm he tries to figure out if its possible to regrow limbs. When the experiment goes wrong, he turns into the Lizard. He isn't suppose to control Lizard like he does. He is a villain in the comics you feel sympathic for and I don't feel any sympathy for him.

Also fear gas over the city and lizard gas? Avi and Webb said Begins is an influence.

That after credit scene sucked to. It was like Sinestro in GL. You could say something about the Joker Card but that was in Year One.

It was a shit movie. Like it if you want but shit is shit.
Jollem - 6/2/2013, 1:59 PM
i've never had a job where i have the luxury of screwing around on the internet. but, it's a little slow right now. when i get off work, i will gladly systematically destroy your silly statements
LMFA0 - 6/2/2013, 2:04 PM

He's a kid. Like 17 or 18. I don't know how old you are but were you at the peak of your responsibility at that age? I doubt it. Add to that this teenager, full of crazy hormones, now has incredible power. I know that I wouldn't be the best role model if it were me at that age with those powers. That's why I like this version over the original. He isn't perfect from the get go, he doesn't get "it" right off the bat. He's a love struck teenager that has a lot of angst towards others due to his childhood, almost like batman, just this superhero isn't even a man yet. So you can judge the character for being morally corrupted, or you can look at it another way.

Say you're Peter, you're hunting down your uncles killer, and a giant lizard comes out of no where and starts destroying a city (no not Godzilla). Do you continue to look for your uncles killer or put that on the back burner to do some actual good? What about after the lizard is gone? He can just pick up where he left off after. He has no idea there are other villains yet, he assumes the main danger is over, at least I would.

I can't argue that the character development in the first one was lacking, but it's not so hard to connect the dots and figure out peters thinking. Yes, he broke his promise to a dead man, but as far as Peter is concerned there are no more threats like the lizard, so why would it matter if he saw Glenn. Is it wrong? Yes. As a teenager would I think the same way? Also, yes!
