Marc Webb Discusses Easter Eggs In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

While promoting the DVD/Blu-ray release of The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb and Senior Visual Effects Supervisor Jerome Chen hint at where you can find hidden easter eggs throughout.

During an interview with ET Online director Marc Webb ("500 Days Of Summer") and Jerome Chen gives clues about where you can find hidden easter eggs in the film. "There's a scene where Gwen is in the Oscorp lab giving a tour to a series of students and there could be Easter Eggs in there," says Chen. Additionally he points out, "There's also an Easter Egg at the end of the movie."

Even Animation Supervisor David Schaub reveals an easter egg that has something to do with the next installment, "In the very last shot of the film where [Spider-Man] is swinging, gets himself shot out of the crane and he's flying down past the George Washington Bridge and he strikes a pose, there's an Easter Egg -- but I can't tell you any more than that -- for something to come."

While Marc Webb explains what's in store for Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) in the next film. "There's a lot of pressure coming [Peter Parker's] way, and we'll see how he handles it," Webb explains. "The last movie, Peter's sort of discovering his powers and he's getting gradually better. Peter, in the next movie, is going to be a virtuoso. Spider-Man, from the outset, is a pro. He's an expert, and he's having a blast, and he is just electrifying in terms of his abilities as Spider-Man. That's going to be really fun. I'm really looking forward to a lot of those sequences."

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray November 9th.

Time to re-watch it with the pause button at the ready.

@thatdylhooper - isn't that like saying each marvel studios movie was a setup for other movies? or batman begins was a setup for tdk and tdkr? you could say spider-man 1 was a setup for spider-man 2 and spider-man 3. x-men 1 was a setup for 2 and 3

"he is just electrifying"

What possible Easter Eggs are in the final shot? Are the birds vultures? I don't see a whole lot there.
Funsize - 11/7/2012, 2:17 PM
The Avengers Initiative
jimpinto24 - 11/7/2012, 2:20 PM
Marc Webb & the crew did a great job with the CG in TASM. I hope Marc Webb considers having two main villians in TASM2 & bring in Shocker.
AFlashFloodOfVenom - 11/7/2012, 2:22 PM
I believe the cloud that is in the top left corner heading down is in the shape of a lightning bolt. It's the one touching his foot and leading down into his fist holding the web.
Considering Electro is more or less confirmed as the villain of the sequel I think this is the easter egg he is talking about.
Tony93 - 11/7/2012, 2:22 PM
He probably mean the Easter egg at the final shot is the credits scene...
No Shittt
Tony93 - 11/7/2012, 2:23 PM
Wait isn't there a villian called moon light or something?
fattieacid - 11/7/2012, 2:28 PM
Ironman 1, 2, Hulk, Thor, Captain America were all movies setup up for Avengers. hence why they were not top movies.. and why Avengers was sorta crappy
Jollem - 11/7/2012, 2:30 PM
i think david schaub meant that somewhere in the entire end web-swinging sequence there is an easter egg, not necessarily just the last frame
MisterMagurlypse - 11/7/2012, 2:36 PM
Damn it @ Tony93...I was going to say Moon Knight. Cause the moon. ;)
Grayson7954 - 11/7/2012, 2:36 PM
i think hes talking about the slow mo shot right after he flips out of the crane. the bridge is in the distance, theres skyscrapers, a helicopter, and it looks like theres people on a building with red lights, but i dont see anything out of the oridinary...
MisterMagurlypse - 11/7/2012, 2:39 PM
Are those VULTURES in the sky???
FirstAvenger - 11/7/2012, 2:41 PM
nailbiter111 could you tell us?
bazinga85 - 11/7/2012, 2:41 PM
Trying to find an easter egg in that scene is like trying to find Waldo in that page where everyone in the picture is Waldo and you have to find the "real" one.
KingPatel - 11/7/2012, 2:42 PM
The only thing I can see is the cloud that disappears as he swings near it when he's swinging through the two buildings, otherwise I don't really see anything. I think the lights between the two buildings may go out like right as he's exiting, but it's too quick to really tell.
Sykamore - 11/7/2012, 2:43 PM
the cloud looks like a face' in that final pose
SolidSnake007 - 11/7/2012, 2:43 PM
It's got to be the bridge. The scene of Gwen's death.
IIIAdamantiumIII - 11/7/2012, 2:43 PM
OMG it think its the CLOTHING !!!! look at those pants!!!!!!!!!
95 - 11/7/2012, 2:44 PM
@nailbiter111 In that still you posted, all I can make out is a Mysterio Easter Egg. That moon and the clouds diagonal make out the silhouette of Mysterio.
DeadPoolLax - 11/7/2012, 2:44 PM
i...dont...see it.
MisterMagurlypse - 11/7/2012, 2:44 PM
Sorry Invalensname5... Didn't see your post. That's what I get for trying to be a smartass.
IIIAdamantiumIII - 11/7/2012, 2:45 PM
shockers pants ?
Jollem - 11/7/2012, 2:47 PM
@95 - i saw mysterio there also :)
SterlingCooper33 - 11/7/2012, 2:48 PM
@nailbiter111 look at the top right of the moon. Looks like the cloud is a siloette of a goblin looking face looking towards the corner.
TheAmazingSpiderMan47 - 11/7/2012, 2:48 PM
call me crazy ... but in the scene where peter tells gwen that hes breaking his promise ... it says on the board ...
tomorrows work
p6 250

maybe this could mean the amazing spiderman issue 250 which had a cover price of 60cents ...
maybe they are going to introduce the hobgoblin the next movie ???
hey i said you could call me crazy lool
Coolkid - 11/7/2012, 2:54 PM
Are those vultures in the ending scene...???
If that's so, vulture will be the villain or one of the villains in the sequel...???
HelaGood - 11/7/2012, 2:55 PM
if you look at the full shot, down in the bottom left you can see something amongst the buildings...

HelaGood - 11/7/2012, 2:55 PM
and no those are NOT vultures... very distinctly pigeons
JorLBola - 11/7/2012, 2:56 PM
Dah! They already are talking about Electro! :) even at the mid credits scene there was a lighting when the mysterious guy talked with Curt
IIIAdamantiumIII - 11/7/2012, 2:58 PM
omg people the credits scene is NOT electro !
SpiderMan6592 - 11/7/2012, 2:59 PM
The easter egg is this:

When Spider-Man is in slow motion, looking towards the GW Bridge, you can hear his spider sense go off.
Jollem - 11/7/2012, 3:00 PM
@HelaGood - lol at pic

i hear in the iron man movies there are easter eggs in there towards tony's alcoholism
caveman - 11/7/2012, 3:02 PM
@HelaGood is that photo shopped?
IIIAdamantiumIII - 11/7/2012, 3:10 PM
its the yellow pants hanging!! IM TELLING YOU!
ViperXX79 - 11/7/2012, 3:10 PM
It's pretty obvious that the moon and the clouds are forming a silhouette of Mysterio. The cloud to the left is his cape coming up over his shoulder.
95 - 11/7/2012, 3:16 PM
So... @nailbiter111 you know the answer? Or is this just speculation till its released on DVD/Blu-ray? Go Team We–See–Mysterio!
