The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field, the films swings into theaters July 3, 2012 in 3D!

Pretty Cool. I'm wondering as to how they'll pull the nerdy aspect of Petey off. In the 4 minute clip, you see him kickflipping on his skateboard and he's wearing all these retro tee like a hipster. It seems that he'll not be "geeky" but more isolated and keeping to himself, I don't know how I feel bout' that. Regardless, can't wait for the game & movie!

Now how the heck did they do that?! Wow.
TokenNerd - 5/18/2012, 7:27 PM
Good to see that he's actually hanging upside down, rather than flipping the set upside down and the camera too.
jumpingJellybeans - 5/18/2012, 7:28 PM
@TheGambitFreak So the obvious scientific prowess, the loner attitude, and the fact that the guy takes pictures for the schools DEBATE CLUB isn't nerdy enough for you? Nerds don't wear slacks and sweater-vests anymore, people...
ralfinader - 5/18/2012, 7:40 PM
Sweet! I made a bet with myself that he wouldn't be wearing the mask before I clicked on this article. I win!
TheGambitFreak - 5/18/2012, 7:42 PM
@Spidey91 Well all I'm saying is I wear Comic Book tees and I am outgoing as [frick]! LOL, IDK why, but it seems like he'll have no reason to be considered a geek in the movie.
TheGambitFreak - 5/18/2012, 7:46 PM
Then again, I know shit about the movie, so time will tell.
NeoBaggins - 5/18/2012, 7:51 PM
@TheGambitFreak Nice sketch. Like that Old School flavor. I did one for the contest they had for the old, big-titty, fat chick that thought she could be Wonder Woman. I forget her name.

I've never understood that look. How the heck does he stick with shoes on. Socks maybe but sneakers. Nice pic though.
razor - 5/18/2012, 7:59 PM
@ I - beat me to it!
I - 5/18/2012, 7:59 PM
I seen the harness now. The white box on top, right?
I - 5/18/2012, 8:00 PM
@razor. lol. thought I was the only one. nice to know.
JDUKE25 - 5/18/2012, 8:24 PM
For a second there I thought he was actually stuck on the ceiling.
DanteSparda - 5/18/2012, 10:10 PM

Its not a harness is the brand new dick web.
MarsivNayr - 5/18/2012, 10:20 PM

That may be the one of the weirdest and best things i've ever seen.
thewolfx - 5/18/2012, 10:44 PM

logan trolled the [frick] outa you hahahahahahaha
MovieTheaterLad - 5/18/2012, 11:48 PM

I disagree on Peter.

Quips, in the long run, aren't necessary. For one, they'd detract alot of excitement and exhilaration from the fight scenes. Secondly, Spider-Man's jokes are NOT funny.

Now, as for Peter, it's important to remember that Peter is sensitive. He's not Chad McCool. He's a dork. When girls talk to him, there's spaghetti everywhere. Tobey Maguire fit this bill to a T. He wasn't a "pussy". He was a sensitive guy who was suddenly thrust into an incredibly harsh world where he had to stand up and be a hero to the entire world.

I think it's unfair that you denounce the Raimi movies from somehow straying from the source material when the new movie is proving to be just as guilty.
DoomXfactor - 5/19/2012, 12:34 AM
@Goomba and TheAmazingHipsterMan- Agreed!
Tobey and Raimi had their chance. It's time to move on people.
DoomXfactor - 5/19/2012, 12:37 AM
This is what makes me mad. People think the Raimi movies are accurate in their portrayal of Peter Parker. Read some comics people
DoomXfactor - 5/19/2012, 12:38 AM
Been reading Spidey comics since the 80's
Ranger14 - 5/19/2012, 1:41 AM
Nothing like keeping his identity secret. *facepalm*
NeoBaggins - 5/19/2012, 3:04 AM
He takes off his mask and gives it to a kid, he sticks to the roof of a train in plain cloths in front of people, gets his masked snatched off at some point in the trailers and has his mask off in two different posters where he's not really showing his face to begin with. LMAO And....

TheRedSkull - 5/19/2012, 3:38 AM
I can remember just how much this got slated when first announced, and how pissy everyone was getting cause they wouldn't get to see a god awful Spidey 4 (Vulturess if you remember correctly) and now everyone' sucking up to Marc Webb and Garfield...
TheRedSkull - 5/19/2012, 3:39 AM
I had faith from the get go, and I'm sure a few other did too :)
jumpingJellybeans - 5/19/2012, 6:24 AM
@NeoBaggins Peter in the comics has literally shown his identity at press-conferences before. In the Ultimate series Parker had his mask torn off ALL the time. What's so weird about it? Oh, and
@I I'm pretty sure a guy who can bench-press a bus wouldn't have a lot of trouble supporting himself with just his hands.
Richardness - 5/19/2012, 6:29 AM
I had a random dream last night so there was such a huge outcry about this movie and spider-mans costume, mostly from this site, that they somehow changed the look at the last minute and it turned out great...but alas some dreams can't come true
NeoBaggins - 5/19/2012, 6:52 AM

Oh yeah, yeah. Sure. Don't get me wrong. Having his mask off is totally awesome. Everything is awesome here. No matter what they do it's great. I agree. If he has the mask on most of the time we'll just be like cool, he keeps his mask on. If he has it off a lot, we'll just say it's like the comics or soemthing.

Oh yeah, and I hate Raimi and Tobey. Am I in? =)
NeoBaggins - 5/19/2012, 7:43 AM
I have to sow these on myself?

And whens the next meeting? I'll bring Cheez-Its and a Tobey dart board.
dmadtroll - 5/19/2012, 7:57 AM
meh spidey4
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/19/2012, 8:01 AM

NeoBaggins - 5/19/2012, 8:46 AM
Excellent contribution, Spidey31

TheWebSlinger - 5/19/2012, 9:40 AM
I have so much confidence in this film.
Marin10 - 5/19/2012, 12:06 PM
Check this out.

Thegoddamnbatman52 - 5/19/2012, 1:20 PM
Yea I'm worried to make him cooler they made him not nerdy but hipster because someone dressed like that in my school and that skinny wouldn't have a problem making friends/ getting a girlfriend/ or being cool
DaltonioSpidey94 - 5/19/2012, 10:17 PM
Cool picture! This is my most anticipated film of 2012!
