New Set Pictures From THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Reveal 'Ravencroft Institute'

Brand new set pictures from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 show off the exterior and foot soldiers of 'Ravencroft Institue' and reveal that Dane DeHaan's Harry Osbron is filming a scene there. Hit the jump to check it out!

Last week, SUNY Maritime College, which is located in Bronx, NY, was used as 'Ravencroft Istitute' exterior set in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2'. A bunch of new set pictures reveal Dane Dehaan's actor's chair, which is labeled Harry Osborn. Perhaps we should expect a scene involving Dane Dehaan's character visiting 'Ravencroft'?

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Tomorrow they're filming at W 56th/57th and 8th/9th Ave in NYC.
MisterBabadook - 4/20/2013, 12:52 PM
What is the Ravencroft Institute?
RyanTcone - 4/20/2013, 12:53 PM
Ravencroft is the Spider-Man variant of Arkham Asylum.
thorhulk77 - 4/20/2013, 12:54 PM
Ravencroft is a mental institute, not a prison I believe^
marvel72 - 4/20/2013, 12:59 PM
looks good from the outside.

I have a feeling that Dr. Conner is going to be in there, but could they also tease at Kassady/Carnage?

Quick idea for a Dr Connors cameo; during the rumored break out scene, we see Curt Connors slowly emerge from his cell, he looks around but then returns to his isolation realizing that he doesn't want to cause any more trouble.
MrDonut - 4/20/2013, 1:06 PM
I know it's in the comics but still seems like a poor man's Arkham Asylum
GLethio - 4/20/2013, 1:19 PM

Hey Shocker....I'll save you a seat at the midnight showing since we all know you'll be there. (This goes along with all the other people who belly ache on this site, yet give their money freely to see these movies).
We all need to just enjoy the ride we're all on with superhero movies in general. For all of us to be able to see all these amazing movies be made after a lot of us read merely the comics and saw the tv shows as kids is a blessing. Enjoy the behind-the-sceen images, teasers and the time we live in......and quit B!+ching. :)
TheWebSlinger - 4/20/2013, 3:36 PM
It's so funny how these people who don't care about the movie take their good time to post under one its articles every now and then.
jerryblake - 4/20/2013, 3:49 PM
wonder if we will see dr. Kafka somewhere in the future movies
TheWebSlinger - 4/20/2013, 3:51 PM
Maybe we will.

His role was so butchered in TASM, they cut some much of his and Dr. Conners scenes out.
jerryblake - 4/20/2013, 3:55 PM

i don't think Kassady is in there yet. As I recall he was first sent to prison (where he met Eddie Brock, by the way, his cellmate).
They where trying to keep him in Ravencroft institute after this whole Carnage/symbiot case was set in motion.

Dr. Kafka was trying to cure him. But she failed bigtime.

you wanna know why harry was never mentioned in tasm?

'cuz he has been spending some time at ravencroft. as a patient
jerryblake - 4/20/2013, 4:25 PM

was thinking exactly the same. "Peter reunites with his long time childhood friend" - sounds like Harry was in Ravencroft, to me.
Platinum - 4/20/2013, 4:58 PM
I don't think Harry is a patient at ravencroft, I think Peter having an old friend in a mental institute would've had some mention in tasm, that's a pretty big deal.
Jollem - 4/20/2013, 5:03 PM
well, there just may have not been any good reason to mention harry at all in the first movie?

in the director's commentary, marc webb says that every single experiment they do at oscorp with every animal is to try and cure norman osborn's condition. everything else is a by-product. so, maybe at some point norman decides to use harry as a guinea pig, and in turn messes harry up a little bit?
AmazingFantasy - 4/20/2013, 5:15 PM
Arkham was barely used in the films
Platinum - 4/20/2013, 5:30 PM
I think Harry is out to test the cure on the inmates since he most likely wants to save his dad at any cost, Him and his Ospals test it on max dillon which ends up killing him and turning him into electro. Ravencroft is probably privatized and owned by Oscorp.

Probably why marc webb sent dehaan a pic of max in the morgue since it was his doing.
CaptainHulk3 - 4/20/2013, 6:31 PM
@ShreckGT350 Well said!!!
Jollem - 4/20/2013, 6:47 PM
i think norman had harry used as a guinea pig because their dna is similar
PapaEmeritus - 4/20/2013, 6:58 PM
Freemason lodge P2 - propaganda due.
buzzman - 4/20/2013, 7:41 PM
@PapaMidnight - Since you obviously don't know what you're talking about, and I'm a Freemason, you should stop spreading false pictures about the fraternity.
DioFoRio - 4/20/2013, 7:53 PM
@Papamidnight....white people lol
Jhuntdaprodigy - 4/20/2013, 9:10 PM
Harry must have went psyhco as a kid or something similar to that, and went to Ravencroft; but now they've released him. Also might mean a Connors cameo.
Optimus83 - 4/20/2013, 9:36 PM
Ravencroft: Arkham Asylum. ...¡¡¡COOL!!!

Imperium000 - 4/20/2013, 9:49 PM
CaptainAmerica31 - 4/20/2013, 10:03 PM
I'm I the only one that noticed that there hasn't been that many set pics compared to TASM? They must've bulked up security
Ryagan - 4/20/2013, 10:18 PM
The Ravencroft Institute just made me realize that Felicity Jones is possibly Doctor Kafka.
zaplayer - 4/20/2013, 10:36 PM
i wonder will the oscorp from ironman 3 will have ties with this one?
theycallmeQUEST - 4/21/2013, 3:04 AM
@thorhulk77, Arkham Asylum IS a mental institution -__- i believe that the word Asylum implies it
MB007 - 4/21/2013, 6:46 AM
Probably visiting his daddy. :-)
facehugger81 - 4/21/2013, 8:11 AM
@buzzman I know, usually people missunderstand the fraternity symbolism, I'm a freemason too, but I cannot deny that the Institute's logo reminds me of some thing of the lodge at first sight (maybe somebody its working with the crew). And for a Cletus Kassady i'll prefeer Jackie Earle Haley
