POLL: Which SPIDER-MAN Should Marvel Bring To The Big Screen; 'Peter Parker' Or 'Miles Morales'?
A lot of comic book fans have been vocal about Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures possibly bringing Miles Morales to the big screen rather than Peter Parker, but is that something you could get on board with? Should the classic version of Spider-Man be shunned for the Ultimate one?
A lot of superhero fans are desperate for more diversity in their movies, hence why the news that the likes of Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Wonder Woman are on the way has been so well-received. Is it time then for Sony to shake up the world of Spider-Man as the character enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe? There are two ways they can do that. Introduce Miles Morales in the place of Peter Parker (please stop suggesting that the 31 year old Donald Glover takes on the role of the 14 year old hero) or change the latter's race. It's created a lot of discussion this week!
When you think about it, would Marvel really have spent the past few years offering billions of dollars to Sony so they can use what is arguably a C-List character like Miles Morales? After all, is he really any more important than Miguel O'Hara or Ben Reilly?! When it comes to changing Peter's race, does either studio want to risk facing the same sort of backlash when Johnny Storm and Heimdall's race were altered? It's sad that there would be an overwhelmingly negative response to such a move in this day and age, but in fairness to those who don't want this to happen, what if a white actor had been cast as Luke Cage by Marvel or Fox had chosen a white actress for Storm?
Anyway, here's your chance to cast your vote and decide which of these Spider-Men you most want to see on the big screen. Peter Parker or Miles Morales? Share your thoughts in the usual place!
