Paul Giamatti Theorizes About 'Sinister Six' For Future THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Sequels

Reassuring that he doesn't know officially, but Paul Giamatti believes that his Rhino has a future alongside the villainous Sinister Six that's being established in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Check it out!

MTV News caught up with Paul Giamatti during the Toronto International Film Festival and, of course, inquired about his role as Aleksei Sytsevich/Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. While confirming that his character is like a "stage-setting opening sequence" in the sequel, the Oscar-nominated actor says, "I believe there's a lot of stage-setting for the next film. There are several villains in this movie, and some of them are more foreground and important. Jamie Foxx is and stuff," he said. "A couple of us are more hanging around the background because I think there will be a bigger deal." It's been heavily implied that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is setting up the Sinister Six for future installments - two of which already have release dates - but Giamatti couldn't actually confirm the villainous Hexad. "I don't actually know, but that seems to be what they're doing," he said. "I'm not an idiot either, but I can't claim hard and fast knowledge of this. I won't. I can't because I don't actually know, but you and I can speculate." What do you think?

In “The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2,” for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The sequel is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.
