As usual, it's best to take the following spoilers with a huge pinch of salt. However, there's no denying that this may lead to some fantastic scenes in the upcoming reboot! Read the details below and then be sure to share your thoughts on this in the usual place!

This from BigFanboy.com...
"Occasionally we get some exclusive scoops sent our way, and this one is quite interesting."

"One of the primary important crew members (who shall remain nameless) recently let it slip to one of our readers (a trusted one at that) that many of the stunt actors in the film have been spending time in heavy make-up for hours on end because of a fight scene in the film where they’re turning all the S.W.A.T. team guys into reptilian creatures… which I’d assume is some nefarious work of The Lizard."

Starring Andrew Garfield in the title role and Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released on July 3, 2012!

i think they actually did something like that in the comic.

sounds pretty cool if done right.
manymade1 - 2/21/2011, 4:18 AM
Um Josh, you have to be fair I did post this first.
JoshWilding - 2/21/2011, 4:31 AM
mannymade1: Sorry dude, but if you check under the "News" tab, you'll see that mine was posted first! It just didn't show up there immediately as I originally placed this story under "Scoops" before realising it didn't really belong there.
Sweep - 2/21/2011, 4:32 AM
If he fights a big bag of shit, Marvel is in total copyright violation of Rocky IV. Id still watch. I like to watch.
LuckyKyd - 2/21/2011, 4:37 AM
Sounds interesting. Dr. Connor mental state as the lizard has seen him doing some crazy experiments, so if done right this could actually work. And what a great finale showdown: Spidey against an army of lizard-creatures.
Exiles - 2/21/2011, 4:48 AM
this has the potential to be a great show down spidey vs a whole bunch of lizards. And its not unusual the lizards try this sort of shit before, the dude wanted to transform the human race in to lizards like him. Should be interesting watch though as far as I remember earlier on the Lizard was always reluctant in hurting his son and wife so that should be pretty cool to see. Hoping for the best from this movie
Thelastdalek - 2/21/2011, 4:49 AM

So he's going to fight you.

You can complain all you want we both know your going to pay for your ticket and see this film wjen it comes out.
Sweep - 2/21/2011, 4:52 AM
Where I come from "Fighting the Lizard" means something COMPLETELY different. Wanking I think... I dont know, nobody tells me anything. Still, watching an Englishman fight a Welshman in a tight costume is a box you have to tick before you die.
ironknight - 2/21/2011, 4:56 AM
Sounds awesome. Just like the show back in the day.
Grimm - 2/21/2011, 5:00 AM
Cool concept, I hope in pans... As for the back and forth and I was first...keep that crap to e-mail, not the comment section...it comes off as, well, childish... Good find Josh.
Grimm - 2/21/2011, 5:01 AM
And...leave Grif alone...he needs hugs not hate...
spidey1994 - 2/21/2011, 5:10 AM
Army of lizards?!?! [frick] YES!!!!! SIGN ME UP!!!!!!
JoshWilding - 2/21/2011, 5:22 AM
Jesus grif, it must suck to hate everything. You think this movie will be crap just because they've taken a few liberties with the suit? So far, we have an amazing cast and some pretty epic sounding fight scenes...Marc Webb still worries me, but try waiting until we get some more info and pictures before completely writing it off, huh? :)

I for one think this sounds bloody excellent. Just imagining Spider-Man taking on a group of humans transformed by the Lizard like he does in the comic books, really does give me even more faith in this movie. It's going to be epic and should easily best the fight scenes from the last three.
manymade1 - 2/21/2011, 5:33 AM
@ Josh Gotcha my mistake.
AlexDeLarge87 - 2/21/2011, 5:43 AM
Sounds interesting. Still dont like the suit thou.
HulkishDutch - 2/21/2011, 5:43 AM
@ Grif... he is going to fight you big bag of shit. because that is what you are. a big bag of shit.

shit Grif!

ps: Spidey ROCKS!!!!
Sweep - 2/21/2011, 5:47 AM
Put it this way - you all expect this movie to be THE balls. You take on board all of the research via internet media and raise your expectaion levels accordingly. Fine there's nothing wrong with that. But if the movie falls short of those expectaions, your opinion of the final product is severely damaged.

Grif's side of the fence - he thinks this movie is going to BE balls. He takes on board every piece of internet research via internet media and has low expectations. Fine there's nothing wrong with that. But if the movie does well, then there is one pleasant FRICKing surprise by the final product.

Don't hate on people with different opinions. Just express your own. Grif doesn't need anything. We just need to wait and see what this movie delivers. Hopefully boobs.
dellamorte1872 - 2/21/2011, 5:53 AM
i think this concept will fall short! CONNORS dont wanna be THE LIZARD and he doesnt wanna turn "others" into similar creatures. he himself doesnt even wanna be one. plus his wife and son would get hurt or turn into LIZARDs as well? CONNORs would never ever want that. THE LIZARD is a mind-less creature! even more so then the HULK. i say this gimmick/film will fail!
GodzillaKart - 2/21/2011, 5:57 AM
Sounds great. This movie is going to be awesome! Superb! Griftastic!
dellamorte1872 - 2/21/2011, 5:57 AM
and i agree with TEABAG that costume is shit! way too much "blue"
AverageCitizen99 - 2/21/2011, 6:01 AM
This would definately be interesting if it were true. Repeating what someone else has said, this sounds more like this could be more of a 'comic book-y' version of Spider-Man rather than a real world type because of this being a fantasy element, but again who knows? This could mean we'd be in for a more intellectual, evil genius Lizard as opposed to the realistic route being him just as a mindless creature. Very interesting to see on screen!

Who knows how this would work if it were true, but this has happened before in the comics. I think earlier comics history had the Lizard as an intellectual, yet warped version of Connors like early man-monster characters that were mad scientists.
patriautism - 2/21/2011, 6:06 AM
@dellamorte1872 Dude come on, that's not true at all.
Connor's didn't want to be Lizard that is true, but by no means is he mindless as the Lizard.
some versions have him feral, but most he is capable of higher reasoning and speech, and can control all other reptiles with his mind..
Eventually Connor's becomes the Lizard completely and it starts to take on his traits.

In fact this is taken straight from the Marvel database
"As the Lizard, Curt Connors' level of intelligence varies. Most often his Lizard persona has normal human level intelligence, but occasionally it has been relatively mindless."

Sweep - 2/21/2011, 6:10 AM
...and I agree with Teabag, cracking jugs.
Sweep - 2/21/2011, 6:20 AM
Im not allowed within 40 yards of Sue anymore. BUT its not 40 yards if they can SEE you ;)
dellamorte1872 - 2/21/2011, 6:22 AM
i deffinetly dont think thats the case, in modern stories like BND and so on, maybe. but by and large people know him as i said. and he definetly wouldnt want his wife and son hurt or turn into LIZARDS, he is more of a "force" than anything. i dont care what you found. THAT is the crux of the character dude. he's not maniacal, he's a monster who doesnt wanna be and he certainly doesnt wanna cause anything bad to happen to the two in his immediate family
patriautism - 2/21/2011, 6:26 AM
@dellamorte1872 It's not what I found, It's MARVELS description of the character abilities, basically you're saying you don't care what he is like in the comics.

How can most people know him as you described, if MOST appearances he is intelligent as the Lizard ( even the original). In fact I can only think of a few where he wasn't.
He does want to be evil when he is the Lizard, you're thinking of the Lizard like the Hulk, when it is more like Jekyll and Hyde. He can still think when he is the Lizard, he just doesn't think like Connors ( well until secret wars anyway)
dellamorte1872 - 2/21/2011, 6:31 AM
in 2004 it was pre-supposed that he "really" knew what he was doing as the LIZARD. hes not intelligent til 2004 dude read up on the source! and yes, his "LIZARD ARMY" is a new idea from the BND era
Sweep - 2/21/2011, 6:32 AM
@Tea you heard right. But she hated it when I said "IZZY WIZZY lets get BIZZY" when I was in the mood. The Panda Dogblocked me at every turn. My junk left him speechless.

What was I talking about? Oh yeah Spider-man should be good. Might need ninja's.
patriautism - 2/21/2011, 6:35 AM
@dellamorte1872 Wasn't intelligent until 2004? I'm afraid you're the one who needs to read up on the source my friend.

pretty sure this issue came out way before 2004

Here's another example if you still don't believe me.

He is even talking about building his Lizard army in that one, what you specifically said he wouldn't do.
mcskunky - 2/21/2011, 6:35 AM
Spiderman! [frick] yeah!!! Loving this concept. Maybe he had attacked the police and transfered some of his DNA to them, turning them into lizard minions. Be really interesting to see how this turns out. Swwet find, Josh

Also nice to see people still pissed off about suit. lol. "There is too much blue". Seriously. GO [female dog] about greesn latern's hairstyle, cause you dumb as comments are not welcome on a real fans site. You douchebags!
ThomYorke - 2/21/2011, 6:42 AM
army of lizards??? hmmm. im gonna lower my expectations to cautiously optimistic
dellamorte1872 - 2/21/2011, 6:43 AM
how is he intelligent when he has no idea his own identity? he doesnt even KNOW he's DR. CONNORS! and he isnt trying to make a LIZARD army, he doesnt attempt that until the BND era. if anything he's battling the other LIZARD guy in your comic there. he isnt a good guy either. when LEE snd DITKO created him the character wasnt ANYTHING like that. you just sooooo desperatly want your point of view to be the more logical one and in the end theres more continuity to justify the opposite. back in the day he wasnt trying to make a "LIZARD ARMY"
patriautism - 2/21/2011, 6:49 AM
@dellamorte1872 Dude you're just wrong, and you're arguing against scans of actual Spider-Man comics. The Lizard isn't feral just because you want him to be.
I literally just showed a scan where the lizard specifically says "I'll build a mighty lizard army"

Oh well you just can't reason with some people.
dellamorte1872 - 2/21/2011, 6:51 AM
and he doesnt. plus i remember the comic, he wasnt turning people into LIZARDS he's trying to make actual LIZARDS themselves grow into "people like him" to have his army
dellamorte1872 - 2/21/2011, 6:54 AM
he's not MANIACAL!
soda9 - 2/21/2011, 6:58 AM
thesymbiote - 2/21/2011, 6:59 AM
friggin SWEET!!

So is it going to be like in the Spider-Man 90's cartoon?? Anyone remember the first episode ever??

Dr. Conners wanted to make to whole human population into something like him because there would never be disabled people then...or something like that.

OR, it could also be that the police discovers who the Lizard is and send a SWAT team to Dr Conner's Lab and they accidentally release the fluid or gas that turned Dr. Conners into the Lizard.
UltimateRedLantern - 2/21/2011, 7:28 AM
i wont pay for this, ill pay for another movie and sneak into it if anything
sexfoodcomics - 2/21/2011, 7:36 AM
they did that in the recent Shed storyline ( great storyline) . The Lizard was callign forth all the peoples "inner reptileg
actorkidrox - 2/21/2011, 7:41 AM
This could pan out well, it just needs to appeal to the fans. Forget the mass audience, if you appease the fas, they'll come and see your movie enough times to make up for any losses you may suffer by missing the mainstream. This "army of reptiles" is a good start, going back to the source material. Lee/Ditko. When it came to scientific explanations for things, they had no idea what they were doing. But creating icons? That was their bag.

It kinda reminds me of the Spider-Man 3 game where you had to beat up the lizards in Central Park and then all over Manhattan. God, some games are good (if way too short). You know, if the FF movie had been HALF as good as the first game, they wouldn't need a reboot.

I think it would be AWESOME if someone found Dylan Baker and interviewed him on his thoughts about all this. It is REALLY difficult to form thoughts with teabag's comment above mine. Booooobs.
