RUMOR: Plot Outline for Spider-Man Reboot

RUMOR: Plot Outline for Spider-Man Reboot

Another salty report may have unveiled possible major plot details for Sony's Marc Webb-directed Spider-Man reboot. Check it Out!

While the source is a very unreliable one, another user now from ComingSoon forums claims that he works for a film website and received an email a few days ago titled 'Fiona's Tale'. And in the email, it contained a plot outline of a Spider-Man film. However, he does clarify that he doesn't know if it's legit.

Uncle Ben approaches the burglar in his home. Ben confronts him and they exchange dialogue. Ben says it was fate that brought them together. The burglar shoots Ben.

Credits Roll

Peter wakes up to his police scanner. Massacre at ESU. He investigates. Captain Stacy is introduced. Peter looks through the destruction and finds a photo of two people he recognizes. Richard and Mary Parker.

Peter has a flashback of his parents giving him to Uncle Ben as a child.

Gwen and Peter go to school. We view the different personalities of his high school.

Captain Stacy debriefs the police force about the situation that occurred earlier that day. They have a lead that the "killer" made his way to the sewer system. They load up.

Peter leaves class. Curt's wife and Billy Connors wait for him outside. They ask him if he has seen Curt. Peter promises her that he will find him.

Peter has a fight with Aunt May when he asks her questions about his parents and she doesn't reply. He let's off steam by going for a swing.

Stacy let's his man go into the Sewer system. We get an Aliens-esque scene where The Lizard takes out his men. Spider-Man gets in on the action. A battle ensues. Spidey grabs a torn piece of cloth from Lizard's back.

A man gets killed by the Lizard. Spider-Man stays for the man's last few breaths.

Flashback of Spider-Man catching Uncle Ben's killer, and letting him live. He is strung up in a warehouse. Capt. Stacy( then Detective) is awestruck by what he sees.

Spider-Man and Capt. Stacy call it a day.

Peter is at school colecting supplies and tools in order to identify the cloth's orgin (Fun scene). He eventually comes to the conclusion it's Curt Connors.

Flashback of Peter working on a regeneration report with Curt Connors. Curt explains that his project is going to change the world. The fact that he is testing on himself is implied.

Cut to Spider-Man breaking into Empire State. Grabbing Curt's experiment logs and tapes. He listens to each tape (scene is intercut with Capt. Stacy going to a crime scene where the Lizard's destruction is in every corner.)

Spidey walks down a corridor and confronts The Lizard. Another battle develops. Spider-Man makes an attempt to talk to Curt when fighting the Lizard. However, The Lizard is merciless and continues attacking.

Peter is beat down after the fight. He heads home and to bed.

Peter is talking to Gwen in the library. They have great character interaction between each other, until there are appearances by a dead Uncle Ben, Richard, and Mary Parker. His parents haunt him because they want justice for their deaths. It is all in fact a nightmare.

Gwen gets a phone call at 5 am. Peter is waiting outside and needs someone to talk to, about the nightmare. She invites him in her home.

Peter meets Captain Stacy. He was a friend of Uncle Ben's. Stacy shows a lot of interest in Peter's life. Stacy leaves the scene.

Peter browses around the kitchen. On the table is a file labelled "Richard and Mary Parker". Peter steals it. He thanks Gwen and says she helped more than she knows.

A lighthearted scene occurs when Peter calls in sick from school. The exchange of words between the "sick" Peter and the secretary is amusing.

After the call, Peter opens the file and begins reading.

Flashback to Richard and Mary Parker going over their mission. Richard Parker will sneak into the Oscorp laboratories and look for any information on the disappearance of several civillians. Mary Parker will distract the head of security, Nels Van Adder, for the time being.

Richard breaks into the facility and finds that the missing civillians are being experimented on. We have references to other villains. He gathers evidence.

Mary flirts and extracts information about Norman Osborn as she speaks with Nels Van Adder.

Richard and Mary accomplish their mission and move back to their getaway vehicle.

Nels Van Adder immediately calls Norman Osborn. He explains the situation that just occurred and we see the getaway vehicle explode entirely. Mary and Richard Parker are dead.

Peter is in utter shock. His anger is displayed and Aunt May comes to comfort him. Peter apologizes to May for his outburst earlier.

Peter realizes he cannot fix the past and listens to the formula tapes of Curt Connors as his teacher explain the lesson. Peter manages to answer the questions asked by the teacher as well as figuring out a formula for the antidote.

While his classmates work on forming a solution in class, Peter is forming the antidote.

Gwen Stacy sets the table for dinner. Captain Stacy and Gwen speak about Peter and how they both like him. He says that he has work to attend to and that he will be back in a few hours. He says goodbye to her.

Peter works on homework as he listens to his police scanner. He hears a call that matches Lizard's description. Peter suits up. Aunt May wishes him safety as he leaves his home.

The address of the call is the warehouse where Ben's killer was caught.

Scenes interlock of Captain Stacy driving to the scene of the crime, Spider-Man swinging, and Curt's wife and son watching the news.

As the huge warehouse emerges...

Flashback of Captain Stacy looking at the perp webbed by Spider-Man. This is the first time any of the officers have seen a thing so amazing. Stacy sees Spider-Man on a building watching overhead.

The officers rush into the warehouse. The final battle begins between Spider-Man and the officers against The Lizard. Plenty of bloodshed.

The warehouse begins falling apart. Captain Stacy saves one of the officers from the falling rubble. Costing his life. Spider-Man uses the antidote on Lizard. He transforms back to his human form. Spidey goes to the dying Captain and Stacy says, " You did good, kid." Gwen is calling on his cell phone, as Stacy takes his last breath. He dies in Spider-Man's arms.

The final scenes: Gwen and the officers at the funeral. Spider-Man watches from a distance. Curt's wife walking with Billy as they see Curt emerge from the beginning of the street. they run to him and embrace. "Richard and Mary's File" on the NYPD's desk. Norman Osborn waking up to his television being switched on. The news plays of the NYPD surrounding his penthouse. The police knock on his door shouting that they have a warrant for his arrest. A note on the coffee table writes, " From Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man." Peter, Aunt May and Gwen help her pack some of her things. Peter notices a door leading to the attic. Hundreds of thousands of copies of unsolved case files make up the attic. All of which Spider-Man is ready to solve. We have a final swing.

Throughout the film, Peter Parker narrates and we find out what is going on in his head.

The opening credits are going to be Watchmen-esque with Spider-Man fighting petty crooks.

What do you think; plausible, or a fanboy making his ideal "Friendly neighborhood Spidey" story known? Anyhow, filming for the much-anticipated reboot, is very well underway in Los Angeles, hitting theaters in 3D on July 3, 2012.

YAWN... Uncle Ben again! : (

Come on SONY... A REBOOT CONTINUATION is what we need...

Straight in the SPIDEY action, and NEW villains too!

Sweet find tho @ FRESH!

MassExecutions - 12/18/2010, 7:28 AM
The Lizard and the basic inter-character dynamics sound pretty good, but it certainly sounds like there could be to much origin still yet. Hope the action is great and pushes the rating limit. Also, hope they get a great actor for Osborn for future movies. No mention of Harry at all? He's got to be in it, doesn't he?
GrimeKid - 12/18/2010, 8:11 AM
I swear that I read this report word for word yesterday.
Someone else posted it & everyone slammed & debunked it.

Am I having Deja Vu... anyway... sweet find DCMF... but I have to say I'll be a little disappointed if this is for real...

@Everyone - Check out the first part of my story "White Fire" in Fan Fic

Yep Deja-vu!!

Please no origin, can we just it start with Spidey web slinging round NYC and the Uncle Ben stuff is flashbacks?
superotherside - 12/18/2010, 9:00 AM
hmmmm.... idk it's not terrible... but it's not great either... and harry's not in it? probably he'll have a small part in the school scenes... i don't think it'll be that dark really, it'll have a bit of blood shed but it seems to have a ok ending... idk... just depends... i'll save my thoughts till i at least see a trailer...

on if it's the true outline or not... idk maybe i could see from what they've told us how it could be true, but didn't the guy that was going to play van adder say he was going to get some action scenes? in this outline i didn't see any scenes were he could really get some action...

btw @marvelfreshman good find! if it's true or not!
RockNRollCC - 12/18/2010, 9:42 AM

The uncle ben scenes are flashbacks! So is this whole movie an origin story? NO! They just sent him back to high school. That's it

This actually sounds like it can work!

I just hope Norman doesn't actually go to prison. We need a sign for Green Goblin next movie
JoshWilding - 12/18/2010, 9:43 AM
Sounds bloody excellent IMO especially as the origins stuff seems to be handled briefly and with flashbacks. However, there are a lot of plot holes, or perhaps just things this guy decided not to cover. I suppose that Spider-Man being responsible for Norman getting in trouble with the law (undoubtedly finding a way out of actually going to jail) could lead nicely into him becoming the Green Goblin in the sequel. But where is Harry during all of this? Intiguing find DCMF! I like it a lot.
marvel72 - 12/18/2010, 9:54 AM
i'm gonna give this a chance, but the origin should be told in the "opening credits" & really this should be "spidey 4".
Xandera - 12/18/2010, 10:14 AM
@Deadpool72 - I agree
Bamf7 - 12/18/2010, 10:18 AM
I know I'm in the minority here, but this sounds really good. It sounds like it sets up future villains, and the only part it dwells on for his origins are mostly parts that weren't shown in Raimi's movies. Plus Capt. Stacy dying at the end would make sense for the funeral pics we've seen Gwen in. I think it would be great! My only question would be does Aunt May know he is Spider-man? Because it sounds like she does when he goes to fight Lizard in the final battle. I'd also like to see Doctor Conners survive this movie so he can help Spider-man in the future, just like he did in the comics.
AverageCitizen99 - 12/18/2010, 10:46 AM
Awesome job DCMF!! :D

From the pages it does sound pretty heavy, but how much of the violence gets translated to film might end up being tamed. Spider-Man 2 had that sequence with Doc Ock in the hospital that was very effective and it didn't really show anything graphic. It does come off as very serious but it might just be filmed as a fun film regardless. I'm crossing my fingers that this ends up being the final film.

I actually really like this, and it does sound like a nice new spin on the character. The tone does sound darker but but it could be filmed as a fun sort of mystery. I think Irrfan's scenes as Adder, dealing with the previously mentioned action, might be during the present possibly or unless he gets involved in the chase. I guess we'll see once we catch a glimpse of footage.

@JoshW & @Bamf7
Agreed, I really liked what I read and whether it's real or not this person should give him/herself a pat on the back for this! I didn't really notice any plot holes but I guess you see that because this is just a brief summary outline of it. And having Spider-Man and George's investigation towards OsCorp and Norman opens up the second film very nicely. I doubt we'll see Harry until the sequel, which would set up a great dynamic between him, Peter and Gwen, seeing as she might dislike Spider-Man and now that her best friend is becoming close to the son of the man being partly responsible for her father's death. Definately crossing fingers here! :)
golden123 - 12/18/2010, 11:57 AM
The ending reminds me of The Flash: Rebirth's ending.
AlsoI could see this succeding and then having even better sequels. It won't fail it will just be as good as the original first Spider-Man. It will do better though.
WorldsGreatestdetective - 12/18/2010, 11:58 AM
I actually like this, it has an edge I think that opening scene of uncle Ben really sets the tone.
Betty - 12/18/2010, 12:02 PM
I just don't want to know any more.

Pitydafool - 12/18/2010, 12:09 PM
I pity the fool who can't see the giant flaws in Spiderman 3. I still believe a 4th installment could have fixed the series and that a reboot was not warranted; however, at least they are "trying" to make a solid film. I'll give it a chance to woo me...sucka

Whether or not this is real, I really like the idea of flashbacks. That's a pretty painless way to handle the origin story...again
Blitzed - 12/18/2010, 12:47 PM
For gods sake LEEE please STFU about a 'reboot continuation', WTF does that even mean?! Its an oxy-moron!

Rami ruined the last story line by killing everyone off, it had nowhere to go. To all you idiots saying we dont want another orgin story, did you even read the plot outline?! This isn't an orgin story, hes already Spider-man, the rest is flashbacks!!!

God you Rami loving freaks are too much! The crying, whining, dancing emo-spidey is gone, its done, get over it!! We may actually really get the real Parker/Spidey in this one.
SoulAllFlush - 12/18/2010, 12:47 PM
Too much focus on trying to set up future plots and not enough focus on the current story.

For this script to work, at the very least, it would need an immensely compelling actor playing Captain Stacey.

But if this is anything like what the final product will be, I may skip it.

I was turning from doubter to near-hater on this reboot. This plot outline has me really excited though! As far as the 'origin' scenes, they don't seem too much like a retread. Rather, they seem like a quick and satisfying fix to all of Raimi's faults in his 'adjustments' to the cannon.

story sounds solid too me, it sounds like alot is going on and the story will go by pretty fast but this is just an outline and more dialogue will be added and i think this is going to be great
Flagg - 12/18/2010, 1:27 PM

Why are you still demanding something that you know you're not going to get? Do you think that if you post these things enough, some Disney executives will see your comments, stop the production of the film and take the whole thing back to the drawing board so they can give you what you want? Come on.
DaDeaDmAn - 12/18/2010, 1:50 PM
This is a fraud why call it a reboot if its just a continuation? the fans wont like that one bit cause we will have expectations if its a continuation with a hole new look... but if its a reboot we we will expect something else...
MintBerryCrunch - 12/18/2010, 1:53 PM
@Blitzed. Thank you, I agree with you on all counts.

IMO, this sounds pretty [frick]ing cool. Also, a brief scene featuring the death of Uncle Ben does not an origin story make. Pull Raimi's dick out of your mouths, rewatch his trilogy and accept those movies for what they were; a grand introduction of Spider-Man to the big screen, but mediocre films at best. I've supported this reboot since day 1(whatever that means), and think it has the potential to wipe the floor with the previous Spidey films. That being said, this story does sound a little fanficcy. I hope the real story is on par with, if not better than, this one.

Out of sheer curiosity... How old is this LEEE777 guy anyway?
marvel72 - 12/18/2010, 2:25 PM
@ intruder

lmafo,dc comics does have its moments in their books, but i'd have to admit he did look like a dick, especially "batman" punching him when his got his ring on.

maybe "hal" should change ring to a "brown ring" because he came across very gay.
SpideyQuad - 12/18/2010, 2:34 PM
Why kill Stacey off so quickly? This could lead directly into a trilogy of the "Tablet" story, being the first installment. Marvel should insist on all three movies being mapped out instead of piecing them together like Rami's.

Btw, I like Rami for the record.
Toxygenic - 12/18/2010, 2:39 PM
This is an incredible plot and I sincerely hope this is the direction they go.
Sucks if it got leaked this early, but daaaaang this is fantastic.
JoshWilding - 12/18/2010, 2:42 PM
Haha, that is [frick]ing hilarious Intruder! :D
ComradeGrey - 12/18/2010, 3:04 PM
I like the idea of a more understated story, but it needs more content. Highly doubt this is accurate.

Need more Norman Osborn for sure.
Bandrews1 - 12/18/2010, 3:38 PM
This is interesting but I doubt its true, even though this is a cool plot outline.
BigDaddySmalls - 12/18/2010, 4:06 PM
Last I remember Lee was entitled to his opinions, or am I wrong ?

Sounds stupid.
R4d1c4lAcc3pt4nc3 - 12/18/2010, 5:35 PM
Is it just me, or are people actually saying for the writers to make up new villians and completely ruin the Spidey plot that has been developed over the last fifty years? Anyway... the only problems that I have with it is that Doctor Curt Connors lives in Florida not in New York City and they are focusing way too much on his past. P.S: They better have web-shooters in this one.
