Spidey Saves A Nerdy Jamie Foxx In New THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Clip

Spidey Saves A Nerdy Jamie Foxx In New THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Clip

Before Jamie Foxx ("Annie") transforms into the villainous Electro we'll see him as Max Dillon, a geeky Oscorp employee with a cartoonishly-bad comb-over. See him struggle to carry a bunch of blueprints in this new clip from Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Thanks to CoulsonLives for the heads up.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Andrew Garfield's quirkiness or whatever you call it are getting a bit out of hand in these clips. Like that, "It's all in the wrist buddy, it's all in the wrist!" scene in the trailer. I dunno. One of the problems I had in the first film was the editing of dialogue when he's speaking under the mask.

Anyway, can't wait. I think it comes out in 2 weeks here.
JJJameson - 3/29/2014, 8:44 PM
Andrew Garfield IS Peter Parker, and his interpretation of the character is one of the best of all time IMHO.

In other news, I'm as much excited as Marc Webb for this and Cap 2.

wookiefit - 3/29/2014, 8:47 PM

You might have not known this, but I dropped the beats for that clip.

My scratching was all "wookie-wookie-wookie"
Mrcool210 - 3/29/2014, 8:56 PM
Damn good footage, can't wait to actually hear what they are saying when it comes out in HD
XelCorp - 3/29/2014, 8:59 PM
@GoldenOne- That actually is most likley the case. I read spoilers (30 minutes of footage) and it says that we will see A new version of His Spider sense.. It's totally different from raimis version. But the way I heard his spider sense works in this movie, makes what u said most likley true. So no I don't think it's bad editing
Jollem - 3/29/2014, 9:01 PM
not too much longer now. dis is gonna be the bestest cbm this year
Platinum - 3/29/2014, 9:06 PM
^So far it sounds like Captain America already took that spot if the buzz we've been hearing is correct.
CaptainAmerica31 - 3/29/2014, 9:06 PM
That gif of Webb dancing is a classic
CaptainAmerica31 - 3/29/2014, 9:07 PM
The spider sense works like this

He pretty much sees into the future
Kevwebsz - 3/29/2014, 9:09 PM

ThrotTheUnclean - 3/29/2014, 9:41 PM
This is the first clip I have seen from this movie that I genuinely like.
UltimateHunt - 3/29/2014, 9:48 PM
i cant believe we will have Cap 2 (well the US) and a month later spidey 2. i have the feeling both will be incredibly great. That Jaime Fox nailed Max, i do feel it for him in the movie

Soooo he let those cars get rammed by the truck and maybe even letting people die in those cars instead of stopping rhino and jumping to save electro instead.... Good job spidey. Jameson's going to have a field day with that

"Andrew Garfield IS Peter Parker, and his interpretation of the character is one of the best of all time IMHO"

@mgeoff88 - Hey, dude! Yeah, been MIA for quite a while from this site. Been doing good, though. A little mischievous for my own good, but hey, I live it to the fullest, haha. You, dude?
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 3/29/2014, 11:37 PM
@mgeoff88 - Hey, man, good on ya! Hope you get the position over there. Been busy with classes and work myself, but I try and manage to pop in to see what's happening in the world of CBMs.

ODSTmaster - 3/30/2014, 12:20 AM
Garfield is perfect for spider-man and this movie is gonna be AMAZING
KnuckleBomb - 3/30/2014, 12:24 AM
You know what I don't care who's the better cbm imo it will be awesome for them to be all be great and that's how it should be not stupid freakin measuring if they're all success then that's the best

AG is an awesome PP/S-M the best to me and some of you act like the character has never had moments where he was a prick at times and please don't tell me some of you are goin to nit pick cause that's just stupid imo
mgeoff88 - 3/30/2014, 12:31 AM
@TheAmazingSpidey Thanks bro! Good luck with school and work. Well, it's great to see you back on here.
loki668 - 3/30/2014, 12:49 AM
Did I hear winery??????

I looooooooove wine!!! Tell me more!

TheAmazingSpidey63 - 3/30/2014, 12:50 AM
@mgeoff88 - Same here, man. And good luck on that interview, bro! ;)
TheWebSlinger - 3/30/2014, 1:17 AM
Andrew is the best Spider-Man we've gotten so far, lets see if his Peter Parker is up to snuff. His performance in TASM was great, the writing held back his Parker. The confidence, and playfulness in this scene as Spider-Man is perfect.

The editing looks choppy as hell, I hope to god that they edited parts of this clip out. I'm guessing they did because they submitted these pieces to Starz before the movie was complete. However, if that's final, then I am not looking forward to the editing of this film.
Masterpace - 3/30/2014, 1:17 AM

Yes, at the moment Cap is the best this year...but it is the first CBM this year it doesn't mean it will be the best till the end. I loved Cap2 and I hope Spidey will be better...I like character more.
Masterpace - 3/30/2014, 1:23 AM
@AnnoDomini Why are you laughing? He is better than Tobey by a mile so it does make him the best Peter Parker in movies...if you count animated series Peter Parker from Spectacular is probably the best.

@loki I don't want to see you go down a bad road...

@TheAmazingSpidey I haven't done many official job interviews before. The manager of the place seemed really nice. I think I made a pretty good impression on her when I gave her my resume. I just have to keep that up during the interview. Thanks again dude!
loki668 - 3/30/2014, 2:06 AM

That road's not so bad. ESPECIALLY when there's wine involved. Ah.....a good Zinfandel.....or maybe a Pinot Grigio.........or a nice Gewurztraminer.........Oooh! A Pinot Noir would be nice!

Much like Giamatti's character in "Sideways", however, I [frick]ing loathe Merlot!! That plonk slop is too tannin heavy for me.

But I DO love the wine!!

spidey1994 - 3/30/2014, 2:29 AM
I'll go as far to say that Andrew Garfield was BORN to play Spider-Man!
loki668 - 3/30/2014, 2:36 AM

Damn! That's a ballsy statement!!
Ocelot - 3/30/2014, 2:44 AM
I could root for Tobey's Peter Parker/Spider-Man but I just can't root for Garfield's, he's far too smug and unlikeable in the movies.
