THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Set: Extras Flee For Safety From Electro Attack (Video)

This past weekend, Marc Webb returned to New York to film The Amazing Spider-Man 2 re-shoots. One such scene, involved extras running for their lives as sparks in the background mimicked Electro's electrical attack. Sadly, Jamie Foxx was not on set.

TASM2 - Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

The extras are actually just fleeing away from this terrible movie.

Spider-Man 3 was in 2007...

So will Electro become a giant electricity monster? And does the MCU connect with this universe?
elib - 10/14/2013, 11:50 PM
I doubt it. As much as I'd like to see Spider-Man and Hulk kicking ass together I think the studios would clash too much. They'd never agree

Here are the only hints so far of this crossover:
Oscorp Tower was almost in the Avengers;
Sony was becoming bankrupt and a crossover would rake in the cash for them and Disney; The cranes are there possibly after the Chitauri invasion; The Iron Man 3 game and lego sets directly referenced Oscorp; The new Iron Man Anime is distributed by Sony; Andrew Garfield has expressed major interest in joining the Avengers; Avi Arad said another Marvel hero was gonna be in this movie; Avengers is probably set in 2011 and TASM is set in 2012 which means TASM was after the events of New York therefore he could not join because he wasn't bitten by the spider; Iron Man 3 is set in Christmas and there is a winter scene in TASM 2 which means they could possibly collide; Spidey's new costume fits in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hulk is still owned by Universal Studios yet they used him in Avengers; Captain America was referenced in the TASM game. It's either my fanboy speculation... Or I'm onto something.

Here is also my Phase 1-2 Timeline Theory:
Captain America: The First Avenger (40's)
Agent Carter
Iron Man 3 (1999)
Iron Man
Iron Man 2, Incredible Hulk, Thor, Doctor Strange (Goes to the mountains and trains for a year)
Agents of SHIELD
TASM Origin
Few Months Later (Christmas)
TASM events, Iron Man 3 events, Thor: The Dark Worldevents, Captain America: The Winter Soldier events and Hank Pym's Origin/ Programming Utron
Avengers Age of Ultron (Tony Stark/ SHIELD build Ultron out of Iron Man parts)
To Steal an Ant-Man
Guardians of the Galaxy
Aveng3rs: To be named later...
IDK that's how I see things... Just speculation for now.

Don't forget that Iron Man and Spider-Man gift wrapping commercial for target.
elib - 10/15/2013, 12:52 AM
Ok, 60% of that was news to me. Sounds like a cross over is pretty likely actually. That said, I wish it was Tobey Mcguire instead but I'd still love to see it.
CoulsonLives - 10/15/2013, 1:46 AM
IF it was Tobey we would have a slighty overweight Spider-Man in his 40's not showing up for the Avengers and whining about how he loves MJ but needs to stay away from her... Plus Spidey is not a patriotic hero type Captain America is. Spidey is a kid with big shoes to fill. With his Newspaper job, love life, and crime fighting... He would still make wisecracks in any situation to throw you off. Tobey's was a dorky, cheesy, and boy scout, 60's Spidey. Andrew's is Ultimate Spidey with a modern twist. Both versions are good. But Andrew's Spidey is someone I can take seriously. Dealing with the lack of parents, friends, and uncle. Andrew Garfield brought a serious tone for Spidey. And that tone works for the MCU perfectly.Tobey's Spidey had good character development in Spidey 1 but went back to a dork in 2... That just ruined it for me.

Also if you recall that scene where Goblin throws a pumpkin bomb at Spidey it doesn't turn him into ash like those other people in the parade. Also Harry survived that as well which doesn't make sense! And that was when I didn't over think when watching the movie.

Just because Garfield expressed interest doesn't mean it will happen. He is just an actor in the series, not a producer. Hugh Jackman has expressed interest in teaming up with the Avengers but that isn't going to happen any time soon. He is actually a producer of the Wolverine films as well as the star but that doesn't mean it is any closer to happening. The studios will never come up with a way to split the profits and that is all they care about, they don't care about giving the fans what they want. The toys that are released for the films are just toys. Licensing for the characters in that regard is way different then actual live action portrayals.
CoulsonLives - 10/15/2013, 3:44 AM
But what about the Iron Man 3 IOS Game with Oscorp... Directly using a logo from a movie should be brought in court unless there is a possibility of a team up. Actually if the studios do a crossover... More money for them. They never confirmed or denied being in the same universe... I rest my case.
CoulsonLives - 10/15/2013, 3:48 AM
But using a logo of a company that owns the rights to it is something Sony can use against Disney. So why didn't they?
MegatronLP9 - 10/15/2013, 6:06 AM
But can't Wolverine be in The Avengers like Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch
Platinum - 10/15/2013, 3:59 PM
Other than TASM having a clean modern look, I don't see it fitting in with the marvel movies at all. It doesn't feel like the same world and no one at all seems aware that superheroes exist.

They can believe aliens and the avengers exist yet a giant lizard is too dumb to believe? Yeahhh not the same universe.
FreedomFreeLife - 10/15/2013, 11:07 PM
As much i love Avengers and TASM, then I do not want Avengers and TASM crossover.
I mean really, if there are superheroes before Peter Parker, then story should be different because it really looks in movie that Spider-Man is world first superhero. Also, if there were Superhero, then Peter would act diffentrly and so do others.

It does not fit in same world.
TheJester - 10/16/2013, 4:56 AM
Coulson, you have no clue how copywrites work. They are limited to the movies themselves, Marvel still retains the rights, and in reality, Garfeild could show up on the AoS TV show as Peter or Spiderman if they really wanted, and not infringe on any rights. Same applies to videogames. Granted, I do agree with you, and have said it for a while, the money that can be made by just playing nice with the studios, is a win win for all, providing Marvel can keep continuity in check.

Keep in mind its speculated that Sony is going to dump the Spiderman frnachise as its already being reset and fast tracked for a round of movies, they wont be able or want to drag it out for another 10 years, and reboot yet again.
Lockjaw - 10/16/2013, 5:56 AM

Sony are stupid not to tie Spider-man to the MCU.

Amazing Spider-man 2 would hit a $billion if a crossover was leaked & that Nick Fury was showing up.
Lockjaw - 10/16/2013, 5:57 AM

They could make an explanation of continuity issues by having Garfield appear in an episode of Agents of SHIELD.
