THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Trailer Commentary From Cast Members And Director Marc Webb

Check out Total Film's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer breakdown, with director Marc Webb, and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan discussing key moments from it!

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is scheduled for release on May 2, 2014!

I think that people should rewatch the trailer and see that the six doors were most certainly not 6 but 7. If you guys re-watch the trailer you'll see that in the scene before (what seems to be) 6 doors opening up there are actually 7 doors as the order of the doors are alined 3,4 (an elevator coming down I assume?) 6 and then 7.

This possibly means that perhaps Goblin is the 7th character separate from the sinister 6?

I also don't think that they'll have the sinister six appear in the second movie to battle Spidey however I do believe that they'll show signs that they are very well alive and coming soon in a possible sequel.

I like it when cast and crew do commentary for trailers just like how singer did. Can't wait for 2014 it going I be a great year.

TheRationalNerd - 12/5/2013, 10:05 AM
I think that as we get more films/another film the Sinister Six may be...

-Doc Ock
-Kraven (mutated Lion-like to improve his hunting like in Spectacular Spider-Man)
charlie2094 - 12/5/2013, 10:15 AM
This was an interesting watch, completely agree with what Webb was saying about Rhino, always thought he'd have to be a big suit like this, never actually thought we'd get a rhino/human hybrid with Giamatti's hard to make it look good and not ridiculous :P

Really liked the trailer, can't wait for the film! Very much imagine Norman will still be THE Green Goblin, he had a green/purple complexion in the trailer bed scene...sure he'll be there to lead the Sinister 6
SimonPhoenix - 12/5/2013, 10:24 AM
Simon says Freeze.

Lizard, Electro, Rhino, Goblin, Doc Ock & Vulture.

Sinister Six. Be well.
Tainted87 - 12/5/2013, 10:29 AM

That's the fanbase here.
TheWolverine08 - 12/5/2013, 10:29 AM
Electro looks game.
FatCat33 - 12/5/2013, 10:29 AM
Walton Goggins for Shocker
TheVirgin - 12/5/2013, 10:33 AM
Holy crap,

the actors revealed too many minor spoilers in the commentary video!

DA F**K!
HelaGood - 12/5/2013, 10:34 AM
VERY pleased with the Harry casting choice!!!!!

According to deadline:

We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man. There are a number of scripts in the works” involving characters and villains in the series, Sony Pictures Entertainment chief Michael Lynton told analysts in a Q&A session wrapping up his operation’s first meeting with investors. But he didn’t offer details, except that Sony is “working closely with Marvel and Disney.” But lest fans of the Marvel world take that to mean that Spider-Man could finally join his buddies in an upcoming The Avengers or other Marvel/Disney film —think again. Sony’s longtime rights deal with Marvel for Spider-Man allows them to exploit any character within the superhero’s universe —including villains, girlfriends or even Aunt May. But Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009, owns merchandising rights to Spider-Man and those related characters, so any further exploitation would have to involve Disney.

This means something and there's no denying this fact. ;) I love the "but" at the end. Disney/marvel are involved fellas.

WOW....Webb has horrible...horrible poker face.
Maestro - 12/5/2013, 10:39 AM
ELETRO IS SOO BADASS! Seeing the limits of his power is truly jawdropping. When he caused all that destruction with the flick of a finger I was all like

TheRebellion - 12/5/2013, 10:42 AM
Spot on about Rhino!
Hemsey - 12/5/2013, 10:44 AM
Sinister 6:

Green Goblin (Ultimate Universe)
Doc Ock

And Venom will be the main villain in TASM4.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 12/5/2013, 10:47 AM
So rhino creates the suit. I like webbs thinking. The evil empire. Love that too.
SpiderParker - 12/5/2013, 10:47 AM
You know what? Rhino suit is made from Stark tech. There you go.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 12/5/2013, 10:49 AM
In Webb I believe In. this is the definitive spidey movie boys.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 12/5/2013, 10:50 AM
This movie will definitely kill the box office as well as in being great in 3D. ;)
TheRealRemyLebeau - 12/5/2013, 10:53 AM

1. The Amazing Spiderman
2. Captain America: the Winter Soldier
3. guardians of the galaxy
4. transformers age of extinction
99. Days of future ass
Dandy - 12/5/2013, 10:55 AM
So excited. The Goblin and Rhino designs work in action and look a lot better than on those posters.

I can't wait to see what this film delivers and I only hope that it isn't over stuffed. But we will see.

So far they are VERY closely following The Spectacular Spider-Man TV show more than anything else.

1) Peter's personality
2) Brainy Gwen
3) Most villains created by Oscorp
4) Possible role reversal with Norman and Harry
5) Electro's origins

So it is very much pulling from what worked in the TV series which is widely regarded as the best Spider-Man show. It seems to be following in it's footsteps by being a hybrid of Ultimate and 616 universe ideas.
Dandy - 12/5/2013, 11:00 AM
Also if they are following the Spectacular Spider-Man series then we can count on the Symbiote story being at the same time as the Sinister Six, with Peter taking them on while being negatively impacted by the symbiote that gives him increased power.

Then that would set up Venom for Spider-Man 4
MrChuff - 12/5/2013, 11:01 AM
Nasty skin condition on Harry's neck... Nasty skin condition on Normans face along with one whacked-out eyeball.
Could we actually see something resembling the original GG design at some point?
manofsteel1942 - 12/5/2013, 11:02 AM
Ok so the Goblin that we've seen so far looks a lot like Andrew Garfield. What if it is...??? From the trailer Harry and Norman know a lot about Peter. Peter's dad was involved with Oscorp. What if they cloned Peter...?? Parker Goblin...!!!
Dandy - 12/5/2013, 11:02 AM
Or The Amazing Spider-Man 5?

Dandy - 12/5/2013, 11:04 AM

It still looks more like Dane DeHaan or Michael Massee to me. If Massee is in the film as a transformed Harry or Norman....than the production team did a hell of a job keeping him a secret.
Dandy - 12/5/2013, 11:09 AM
TASM- The Lizard
TASM2- Green Goblin, Electro, Rhino
TASM3- Doctor Octopus, Vulture
TASM4- Sinister Six (Green Goblin, Electro, Rhino, Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Lizard)
TASM5- Venom!

It could work. It definitely isn't the traditional Sinister Six but all the ones mentioned above have at some point been a member of the team.
McNyagano - 12/5/2013, 11:10 AM
Maestro - 12/5/2013, 11:10 AM
In Webb I trust. He clearly has an understanding of the character and has a passion for the character he's creating. Trailer looks amazing. 2014 is going to be an AMAZING lead up to 2015
Chucky2003 - 12/5/2013, 11:23 AM
The CGI looks bad,it looks like a videogame movie
NovaCorpsFan - 12/5/2013, 11:26 AM
Felcity Jones is stood in front of Harry when he's on his glider.
Mrcool210 - 12/5/2013, 11:36 AM
that skydiving scene is the first time we see spider-man? :( awww i at least wanted one scene in his suit from the first movie
NovaCorpsFan - 12/5/2013, 11:38 AM

Apparently the suit is also of OsCorp creation.
RetroFit - 12/5/2013, 11:39 AM
I'm still not a fan of the Goblin look at all. Other than hair and a Bluetooth on his ear, it doesn't look much different than Harry. I was hoping for a yellowish Hobgoblin mutation that was very distinct.
Spidey10 - 12/5/2013, 11:39 AM
Like I said in another thread unless Harry dyes his hair blonde and make it spikey which God i hope they dont have a montage of him looking like that I dont think thats Harry...I think its Hobgoblin if you remember in the comics Osborn hires Hobgoblin for different mercenary hits even in the cartoon Hobgoblin worked for Osborn until he turns on Osborn and blackmails him later for all of the stuff Norman had been up to....Why would Harry ask his dad but what about Peter and then later be fighting him in the same movie??? i dont think Harry knows Peter is Spiderman at least thats my theory
YeezusWept - 12/5/2013, 11:40 AM
In the second picture Harry is in the same type of glass box that Vulture's wings and Ock's arms are in.
HeisenBane - 12/5/2013, 11:40 AM
I reckon Otto is behind a lot of whats happening and is that mystery figure from the first end credits scene and the one walking past the wings and arms. Notice how the arms start moving towards him as he walks past.
