Jollem - 7/8/2012, 11:49 AM
from all the concept art i've see, i'm glad they went with the suit they did. some of the lizard designs looked pretty cool but i liked the way the lizard looked in the movie.

excited for the sequel

i want a director's cut of ASM
CaptainObvious - 7/8/2012, 11:54 AM
If you were to show somebody the first one, would they be able to guess that was Spider-Man?
AlexDeLarge87 - 7/8/2012, 11:56 AM
lapress@ took the words right out of my mouth.
AC1 - 7/8/2012, 11:59 AM
did the designer of the first one ever think that had a chance of being chosen? Seriously, as much as I love looking at concept art and admire concept artists, some of them seem to be a bit clueless.
Joker08 - 7/8/2012, 12:04 PM
Ewww. That first one??! This:

Plus this:

Glad they stayed away from that look.
Freshkicks1212 - 7/8/2012, 12:05 PM
I Still HATE the costume in the movie, but now seeing it could have been worst, way worst
ImNoSuperMan - 7/8/2012, 12:05 PM
The 2nd one is actually really nice, but WTH is up with that 1st one?
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/8/2012, 12:06 PM
The 2nd one would work well IMO.
SageMode - 7/8/2012, 12:06 PM
That first one is just horrendous. Ugh
Eugene - 7/8/2012, 12:07 PM
JDUKE25 - 7/8/2012, 12:08 PM
Seriously, why can't they just add the freakin belt. He's gotta change those cartridges at some point right?
MidKnight35 - 7/8/2012, 12:08 PM
The first one looks like tie-dye shit. 2nd one looks decent. I bet they modify the suit slightly for the sequel.
spiderclone - 7/8/2012, 12:08 PM
dont like the look of the concepts but i do like the look of
JDUKE25 - 7/8/2012, 12:10 PM
And what the f*** was that person on when they did that concept for the first one?????

2nd one isn't that bad. Just fill in those blue spaces on the abs and give him a belt.
Emanuel14 - 7/8/2012, 12:10 PM
all crap, who da [frick] made this?
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/8/2012, 12:12 PM
I really enjoy looking at concept art, they always show cool scenes that could have been in the movie.
jimoakley666 - 7/8/2012, 12:15 PM
That first one is dire!
Scooby - 7/8/2012, 12:22 PM

Danbojohnj - 7/8/2012, 12:32 PM

ThunderCougarFalconBird - 7/8/2012, 12:50 PM
"Fingers remain exposed for adhesion to climbing surfaces"

Yeah, then they're covered with gloves so stop talking bollocks!

As for that first suit....

The costume they went with might look cool to some of you now, but within 20 years it's going to look VERY contemporary and '2012ish' the way a a lot of things look very 70's or 80's.

If you're going to retell the origin story, why not go for a different take on the most iconic possible vision of the character.

If you're gonna take the character back to high school and retell the origin, they should have gone the more homemade route, instead of the 'professional costume movie department' version they went with. IMO they should have use a variation of the suit from Spiderman Edge of time - Exaggerated the uneven hand-stitched webbing a bit more, and given him the more angular eyes from the movies:

Let him have a modern/contemporary suit in the sequels, once he's outta high school, give us the iconic version for the origin story.
Masterpace - 7/8/2012, 1:24 PM
I thought about how Webb combined stuff from Amazing Spider-Man and Ultimate Spider-man and IMO he shouldn't kill Gwen using Green Goblin becuase he would have to use bridge scene from first spider-man and critics would again write stupid things...I think he should use idea from Ultimate and let Carnage kill Gwen...but of course as Carnage he should use original Cletus Kasady and not this weird monster from ultimate series.
marvel72 - 7/8/2012, 1:28 PM
the second suit image is fine, but the first sucks.
theInvincibleMexiMan - 7/8/2012, 1:32 PM
that first suit?
Talisac - 7/8/2012, 1:34 PM
That first one looks like a cheap Carnage knock-off to me. I like the second one.

For me the movie was pretty good and the costume which I don't like as much as the original didn't bother me at all during the movie. I think the thing I dont like about the new suit is the blue on the hands which I didnt pay much attention to during the movie but notice much more in the still pics.

I would have also liked it more if Andrew was a little more cut than what he is. Not much more but a little. I hope he can beef up a tad in the sequal.
TheSoulEater - 7/8/2012, 1:44 PM
The second ones a win
scrappybuttons - 7/8/2012, 1:55 PM
Im willing to bet the only reason they were able to get away with the lame changes to the suit now is cuz they attempted to pitch that first one. When everyone in the boardroom was done throwing up they must've been willing to settle for anything else.
Odin - 7/8/2012, 2:00 PM
TASM was one huge piece of shit.
Masterpace - 7/8/2012, 2:02 PM
@Talisac beef up??? What...he has perfect Spider-man like body right now...Spider-Man should be very thin...with hard muscle and Adrew looks great for the part...Maguire looked weird...
scrappybuttons - 7/8/2012, 2:04 PM
What was wrong with it? I still havent seen it but was holding out hope for it.
BIGBMH - 7/8/2012, 2:19 PM
cool stuff, but the first design is awful.
angus666 - 7/8/2012, 2:39 PM
He looks like a woman in the first one. The rest are pretty cool. I like the web shooters especially, I was wondering how they would actually work. Didn't he just use pre-made web cartridge things from Oscorp in the movie though?
Thegoddamnbatman52 - 7/8/2012, 3:14 PM
Thank god they didn't go with that first one
superotherside - 7/8/2012, 3:17 PM
The first design is unbearable. Seriously who made that? Idiot.

The second is okay, not good but alright. It has some interesting design elements, and is probably better than the one used in the movie.
