THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Sequel Heading To London

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Sequel Heading To London

As previously speculated, the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man (the production title of which was recently revealed as being "London Calling") will indeed shoot partially in the UK's capital, presumably recreating the storyline from the comic books in which Gwen Stacy spends some time there.

When it was revealed that The Amazing Spider-Man sequel had been given the working title of "London Calling", we speculated that it might have something to do with the storyline in the comic books which saw Gwen Stacy visiting the capital. Well, according to Bleeding Cool, they have now been able to confirm that production of the movie is indeed heading to this side of the pond. "I managed to confirm that London Calling has indeed been planning for some production over here in the UK. How much? No idea. Yet. But it’s not studio stuff – or at least not just studio stuff. They’re planning to film out and about in the streets." Whether or not this means that Spider-Man will be following Gwen over to London remains to be seen, although her absence certainly leads the door wide open for the introduction of Mary Jane Watson! Be sure to sound off with your thoughts and theories in the usual place!

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Sally Fields as Aunt May

RELEASE DATE: May 2nd, 2014.

JordanKing - 11/28/2012, 11:48 AM
Spider-man IS new york city. They better have a damn good reason for him to pop up here.
FirstAvenger - 11/28/2012, 11:48 AM
Okay interesting.
Stumblin - 11/28/2012, 11:49 AM
Well...this really doesn't tell us much. I want to know about main villains!
JorEllinator - 11/28/2012, 11:50 AM
Making me like my country even more now, I'm going to take the train from Birmingham to London!

Tenaciousbt is gonna blow a gasket!

Oh my hometown :)

No doubt he will be given a council house and full access to the benefit system upon arrival.
Dunejedi - 11/28/2012, 12:00 PM
Of course they're going to film scenes with Spidey in London. They wouldn't move some of the production to London and NOT get iconic images of him web-slinging through that famous cityscape. It's the same thing they did in the story line from the comic that this is jacked from.
Hero020200 - 11/28/2012, 12:07 PM
If any of you guys see a 12 year old, tall guy waving at the camera in the film... that'll be me.
gillri - 11/28/2012, 12:07 PM
Spidey wont like the lack of tall buildings in London and he particularly hates the gurkin! yes there are tall buildings but no as many as NY

how will he get there also?? he better not sit in a seat, I hope he dangles from an airbus a380
Funsize - 11/28/2012, 12:22 PM
Sounds really bad
AmazingFantasy - 11/28/2012, 12:22 PM
Gwen will go to collage there, not Peter/Spider-Man...
But then again Spider-Man in England would be sick...
CaptainObvious - 11/28/2012, 12:23 PM
Remember in Sins Past by JMS where Gwen left for France and slept with Norman Osborn and had twins as a result?

Just imagine that happening in this movie.
Stumblin - 11/28/2012, 12:23 PM
@Godzillafart, I thought that wasn't confirmed?
DioFoRio - 11/28/2012, 12:41 PM
what was that graphic novel from the late 70's early 89's with spiderman in England? Cool cover of him on some earthy spires.
Spideyguy94 - 11/28/2012, 12:44 PM
@captainobvious god that was awful 2nd worst spidey story ever. Another editorial mandate from quesada
jessepostal - 11/28/2012, 12:47 PM
@cipher, fav song on london calling??
BlackFlash - 11/28/2012, 12:56 PM
Hell yes first Thor:TDW and then Capt America:TWS and now this being filmed in London, I'm making sure i'm not sick this time when it comes to working on the last 2 I missed out on Thor :(
CaptainObvious - 11/28/2012, 12:59 PM
@Spideyguy94- I read that JMS wanted Peter to be the father. However, Marvel being Marvel, didn't want him to have kids as they thought they would age him and he wouldn't be relatable anymore. As we all know, nobody can relate to someone who has children.
Spideyguy94 - 11/28/2012, 1:09 PM
@captainobvious exactly, it's funny how the only 2 bad stories in JMS' run where editorially mandated by quesada
AutobotCommander84 - 11/28/2012, 1:12 PM
[frick] that shit. No offense, but unless they just wanted to shoot at say, Pinewood, Shepperton, or any studio location, I wouldn't want to see Spidey in London.
RadicalDuck - 11/28/2012, 1:17 PM
Hell yes! May nip down there on a day off :-)
CaptainAmerica31 - 11/28/2012, 1:20 PM
Cool we get to see Peter in London, we don't know if we'll see Spidey. It would cool though, and they might just be shooting there and not be London in the movie
Cosmic1 - 11/28/2012, 1:47 PM
Earlier announcements said it would be filmed entirely in NY, I guess that was BS
INFO - 11/28/2012, 2:10 PM
Wait! didnt Sony say Mary Jane will have a small role in ASM2 then will take on as the leading actress in ASM3.So....
BigDamnHero - 11/28/2012, 2:18 PM
@Mucklefluga My thoughts exactly!
jessepostal - 11/28/2012, 2:25 PM
@cipher, good man, the only song im not a fan of is lovers rock, dk why, the card cheat and wrong embyo are prob my favs :)
RSDhillon - 11/28/2012, 2:26 PM
Hey, look at all the people who know nothing about Spider-Man here in the comments!

Gwen went to London after her dad died to live with his Uncle and Aunt in the comics.
And then Peter went there to find her, but he had to do Spider-Man business and Gwen hated Spidey at the time, and she would wonder why Spidey and Pete were in London at the same time, so he went back to NYC.

'Nuff said!
JorLBola - 11/28/2012, 2:31 PM
Why so many sequels are made in London??
Platinum - 11/28/2012, 2:38 PM
Such a big leap from the first film, seems like they'll be taking on a lot in this sequel.
ChromeToaster - 11/28/2012, 2:57 PM

If Spiderman goes to London I wonder how he's gonna get his suit and stuff through security? Airports are so crazy now.
sharkman03191 - 11/28/2012, 6:48 PM
nice! Interesting direction. I recall the comic storyline was great.
chuskito - 11/28/2012, 7:59 PM
Hey Josh,

It's Sally Field, not Fields. Just a friendly heads up.
