Sayith what?
ksommer - 6/17/2013, 12:16 PM
Interesting that they jumped onto that first weekend of May right after Marvel grabbed it until 2017.

I hope this leads to a Sinister 6 movie! 4 movies in 8 years.
GizmoEl - 6/17/2013, 12:17 PM
whoa, thats a LOT of faith. I'm loving it.

Reboot the reboot!!!!
knocturnalzen10 - 6/17/2013, 12:18 PM
mostly likely he'll die in the 4 one (peter's life sucks cheeks)
CaptainObvious - 6/17/2013, 12:20 PM
And then Sony will pull the plug on the fourth movie and reboot the franchise again five years later. These people will do anything to make sure that Spidey doesn't go back to Marvel.
FreedomFreeLife - 6/17/2013, 12:22 PM
TASM is highest earned box office reboot EVER

Batman Begins - 300 million
Hulk reboot - 250 million
Casino Royale - 600 million
The Amazing Spider-Man 750 million
Mechagino - 6/17/2013, 12:22 PM
I can't wait for there to be problems with the third one which leads to the director leaving and thus the fourth film gets cancelled and it gets rebooted all over again. :D
Dev - 6/17/2013, 12:23 PM
So Avengers 3 in 2019 May. TASM 4 takes 2018 May slot. :\
ReeferInferno - 6/17/2013, 12:23 PM
Also the lowest grossing spiderman movie despite 3d and inflation :P
Reasonnnn - 6/17/2013, 12:24 PM
UHHHH diminishing returns is my guess.
PhoenixKing - 6/17/2013, 12:24 PM
TASM was basic in the eyes of some deluded CBM fans because it was the beginning. The next chapters in the franchise will form the solid creation of the comic universe that many know and love. I’ll be happy in a couple of years knowing that I didn't highly doubt a director’s vision after only one movie.
Reasonnnn - 6/17/2013, 12:26 PM
@PhoenixKing what about deception? The "untold story" in TASM was literally untold.
ReeferInferno - 6/17/2013, 12:27 PM
A movie should be able to stand on it's own, they should try to make the best movie they can instead of just thinking of all the sequels.
Batman Begins is a great example of a movie that works as a movie by itself with just a hint of what's coming in the sequel with the joker card.
BlueMex - 6/17/2013, 12:27 PM
milk it!
Omarvls - 6/17/2013, 12:28 PM
Really? so we have 3 more Spider Man movies?
thewonderer - 6/17/2013, 12:29 PM
TASM sucked shit.

Lets hope these are any better.
PsyGuy - 6/17/2013, 12:29 PM

I disagree! I love when movies tie together like that. Lord of the Rings style!

RexDartEskimoSpy - 6/17/2013, 12:29 PM
Way to count those unhatched chickens, Sony.
Omarvls - 6/17/2013, 12:29 PM
Spider Man 4 or what ever they're going to call it on

May 4th 2018
Sorry but that will be Avengers 3 territory
thorhulk77 - 6/17/2013, 12:29 PM
Sequel looks intersting so I guess I'm excited. I think I'm of the few who enjoyed TASM very much
TheRebellion - 6/17/2013, 12:29 PM
If the second movie sucks I won't care for next two. As a Spider-Man fan...LETS GOOO!
Odin - 6/17/2013, 12:30 PM
It's good that they have faith in their work no matter what.
Jazza815 - 6/17/2013, 12:32 PM
While I don't wish it to happen, it would be very funny is TASM2 failed in spectacular fashion and see how Sony would react to it
Lockjaw - 6/17/2013, 12:32 PM
Oooo Spidey steals the Avengers parking space...HULK SMASH PUNY BUG MAN!!!!
PhoenixKing - 6/17/2013, 12:33 PM
@Reasonnnn Err... why on earth would they reveal the whole 'untold story' in one movie, if they have three more planned already?
SAZMD - 6/17/2013, 12:34 PM
TASM was OK. I loved the scene in the high school when Spidey wraps up the Lizard in his web then throws Gwen out the window.
xinstituto - 6/17/2013, 12:34 PM
MrCameron - 6/17/2013, 12:35 PM
"What if The Amazing Spider-Man 2 flops?"

Do you people honestly think that a movie based on Marvel's most popular superhero would flop at the box office?

TheFox - 6/17/2013, 12:36 PM
Whoa-- WHAT?

They're skipping right past "trilogy" and going for a quadrilogy? Kinda counting your chickens before they're hatched, aren't you, Sony?

Then again, if they've got the balls to actually try and do the Sinister Six on the big screen, I guess they've got the balls to say "screw effective storytelling structure! We're gonna make this franchise episodic!"

theowl - 6/17/2013, 12:38 PM
already 4 movies confirmed?! They must really know the story then :) I love how they are taking the story slow and digging inn to it.
smerf1 - 6/17/2013, 12:40 PM
Venom confirmed?
ThatOneDude - 6/17/2013, 12:41 PM
Hopefully Sony is planning something big with ol'Web Head.

So far the only bad Spidey flm has been the 3rd one IMO.

LEVITIKUZ - 6/17/2013, 12:41 PM
Yes Grif because 3 days after Iron Man they confirmed dates for Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, & Avengers.

I would say TIH but Marvel did absolutely no promotion for it and even Green Lantern outgrossed that.

Doesn't mean it's the best. Oh did you hear that? Man of Steel doubled in the opening weekend what TASM did. Count your days that you can use that excuse.
jphoenix666 - 6/17/2013, 12:43 PM
Bring on Venom & Carnage!!!
MrCameron - 6/17/2013, 12:43 PM
@ fettastic

Penn Jillete has an important message for you:

Seriously, stop trying to start shit and wait till you see some footage, THEN you can bitch all you want.
paintedwings - 6/17/2013, 12:44 PM
go for the reboot and let michael bay and bryan singer direct and produce...lots of kick ass explosions and lots of nothing else...........yeah boi!!!!!!!!!!
LEVITIKUZ - 6/17/2013, 12:45 PM
Webb you signed a deal with the devil. I picture Sony making you make TASM movies like how that nightmare scene in Space Jam with what would happen if Michael Jordan lost the game at what the Monstars would make him do.
