Some Concept Art from artist Jim Martin. Who has done work on Films such as Captain America: The First Avenger and The Matrix Reloaded, which features alternate designs for the Green Goblin, as well as Doctor Octopus, who appears to have originally been part of the script.

After witnessing the death of his uncle (Robertson), Parkers decides to put his new skills to use in order to rid the city of evil, but someone else has other plans. Malcopunch - 1/13/2014, 8:03 AM
The Goblin Concept Art is just so bad..
JoeMomma29 - 1/13/2014, 8:08 AM
That Green Goblin looks like something out of Mega Man Video Games. Though I still think Spider Man 2 is one of the best CBMs out there.
jlabatman - 1/13/2014, 8:09 AM
That Goblin, wow that sucks!
Scorn - 1/13/2014, 8:10 AM

Dont know about you, but the last one looks a lot like Heisenberg with robotic tentacles and a smiley coffee mug.
fettastic - 1/13/2014, 8:27 AM
This is because he was originally starting off with Jim Cameron's script. That's where the organic web shooters came from and it also featured both Gobby and Doc Ock.
sameoldthing - 1/13/2014, 8:28 AM
He should wear a grotesque Goblin mask..it's to instill fear & disguise Normans appearance.
Not a Power Ranger helmet, not actual green skin or whatever he will have in next Spidey film.

MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE COMIC BOOKS...so simple,so frustrating. Hollywood asswipes.
brokenexcitement - 1/13/2014, 8:29 AM
I was thinking that exact same thing, hexapod2k.

Also, this is the way they should have gone with the Green Goblin:

Those r turrible! XD
brokenexcitement - 1/13/2014, 8:34 AM
I know that people have seen these multiple times, but they would have been wonderful to see on screen!

fettastic - 1/13/2014, 8:34 AM
Here's something I'll be t most of you whipper-snappers have never seen. It's the original teaser trailer for Spider-Man. It features a heist that ends at the World Trade Center towers. When they were hit and destroyed, this teaser and all associated footage, dissapeared.

The original poster also featured the Twin Towers.

DEVLIN712 - 1/13/2014, 8:35 AM
I'm sorry, WHAT?!?

Interestein - 1/13/2014, 8:37 AM
These make Power Rangers Gob look awesome! Like the Doc Ock one though!
DrunkenNukem - 1/13/2014, 8:45 AM
Spiderman 2 is the best Spiderman movie ever...It´s epic...Raimi got burnout after this movie
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 1/13/2014, 8:46 AM
Holy shit those are horrible
CimJerrey - 1/13/2014, 8:51 AM
Reminds me of this oh and btw if you remember this you are awesome ;)
maninfinesuit - 1/13/2014, 8:55 AM
Why does Doc Ock look like Doc Venture?

ChuckV - 1/13/2014, 8:59 AM

Totally agree... that Youtube video shows that they were on the right track!!! Sadly, the studio axed any progress with that version even with the reboot.
marvel72 - 1/13/2014, 9:02 AM
how hard is it to actually adapt the look of the green goblin from the comics?
brokenexcitement - 1/13/2014, 9:03 AM
fettastic, I remember seeing that in the theater! I also, remember why they nixed it -_-

ChuckV, ya. I wish they had gone with this instead of the craptastic look he has in the new one. It's like watching Gollum/Smeagol ride a hover board...
ALegendaryPanda - 1/13/2014, 9:03 AM
Absolutely ridiculous!
DrunkenNukem - 1/13/2014, 9:04 AM
@1to10 lol yeah...Doc Ock is fan of the comedian..

BTW Molina´s performance as Doc Ock was superb...
brokenexcitement - 1/13/2014, 9:14 AM
1to10youLose, absolutely! I am thinking that Harry will be almost Green Goblin Beta in this movie and that Norman will be the Ultimate Universe Green Goblin
SentinelofLiberty - 1/13/2014, 9:30 AM
1to10, would you mind telling what some of the 2.1extra footage shows?
TheRationalNerd - 1/13/2014, 9:33 AM

Ahhhh, the good ole Fox Kids days. I remember watching the Godzilla, Big Guy and Rusty, Spider-Man Unlimited animated series I also remember Angela Andaconda, Digimon and Power Rangers! Ahhhh good times! lol
SuperCat - 1/13/2014, 10:06 AM
Glad we ended up with the Doc Ock in the film.
pesmerga44 - 1/13/2014, 10:20 AM
Anyone notice how the second Green Goblin picture looks like a combination ass shot and trying really hard not to piss.
Indy - 1/13/2014, 10:31 AM
Love the first two original Spider-man movies!!!
Indy - 1/13/2014, 10:32 AM
Very funny scene.
DrunkenNukem - 1/13/2014, 10:33 AM
Spiderman 2 is better than TASM and my favorite Marvel movie with Iron man and Blade 2
spidey1994 - 1/13/2014, 10:37 AM
Wasn't there an old poster that showed Green Goblin and Doc Ock on it?
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 1/13/2014, 10:47 AM
Those suck but with that said
ManDeth - 1/13/2014, 11:11 AM
The unused Goblin face was a cool creation but it and the one in the film shouldn't have been used in that story.
In the comics you can have a character wear an outlandish costume and not have to explain it.
But in a film you must explain why Norman Osborn decides to wear a freaky and somewhat juvenile Halloween mask. So in the story presented in the 2001 film, I think a more realistic design like the concepts would've fit that film.

The 2001 film was vastly superior to Webb's terrible ASM in ever way. But some of the Goblin stuff was too B-Movie and Roger Cormanesque.
SpiderJerusalem - 1/13/2014, 11:16 AM
Gobby twerk, Miley would be proud :P
SpiderJerusalem - 1/13/2014, 11:19 AM
Hey grif post your review of tasm 2 I want to know what you really thought about it,cause I haven't seen it yet.thanks
MercwithMouth - 1/13/2014, 11:32 AM
Wow, those are... Terrible.

Still loved Dafoe as Gobby though. His performance was exquisite. Still hated Molina as Doc Ock, terrible casting. And horrific idea to make Doc Ock a sympathetic villian. Great movies though. And hopefully TASM2 continues this tradition of great Spidey movies. Only bad one was SM3, and that was studio asshats [frick]ing with Raimi's vision.
