Yet another brand new featurette for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man has arrived, this time focusing on Spidey's redesigned suit for the film. Check it out after the jump!

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.


The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field; the film swings into theatres July 3rd.

Yeah a teenager could definitely make that himself... They show him sewing something. Thee suit looks like rubber or even latex, not something that was sewn.

I don't know why they were so concerned with making the suit look like a teen could make it when the audience isn't going to question it. Nobody cares how the suit was made as long as there's a suit.

I just can't buy this Andrew Garfield kid as Peter Parker/ Spider-man. The costume sucks; the webbing is wrong, the material is wrong-why did Marc Webb feel the need to frick with a classic design? Why create all that heavy-ass handed OScorp drama? Why the deep romance crap? I think I'll be skipping out on the Amazing Basketball Head Drama Movie.

@ToDandy: Well put. We still don't know if he's sowing the ENTIRE suit, or just pieces. I think this is another movie where people will see it and it won't matter how he got it anymore.

Love that we get to see him stitch it together and look up materials on the internet... Gives me some ideas for the Dallas Comic con in 2012.

It all depends on what material they portray it to be. I joke around about basketball covers because that is what it looks like. That kind of material would be almost impossible to sew by hand and at the same time look professionally tailored.

People are betching about it being unrealistic that he makes his own suit but it's TOTALLY believable that in real life, people fight giant man-lizards? Check your brain at the door and suck it...I mean enjoy the movie.

Like I said, I am curious as to what kind of material it is. That will answer some questions for me, but it still doesn't change the fact I don't care for the look and texture of the material.

I still say it looks strange. So I guess he designed it on the computer? Like why? Why would he just say: "Oh I'm going to fight crime in some spandex suit."

Even in the original version that never quite made sense. Hoping they explain that. Plus how he gets the seriously weird cloth to make the suit... lol...

Wait did she say it's got to look like he actually made it? For me to believe they have to make peter be part of seamstress club or aunt may used to work for Stan Winston and taught him, cuz when I try to make a costume it looks exactly what you think it does, SHIT!

Nothing about this movie should be realistic to the point of no suspension of disbelief. Why didn't anyone make this complaint when he did it in the comics? Such petty shit.

IT'S A COMIC BOOK MOVIE. [frick] the ground realism nonsense. :-)

Ridiculous.

So he designs it on his computer..okay... then he "creates" the suit. How?

The only time I've seen something designed on a computer magically appear in real life was in a little film called Weird Science.

Maybe we haven't yet seen the part where Peter Parker wears a bra on his head.

Yes, the suit is iconic—BUT YOU CHANGED IT.

Parker, like Kent, should be played by an natural-born American. There simply has to be someone who looks like Peter Parker in acting school.

There is nothing singularly so special about Garfield that made him the only one who could do this.

I dont hear any complaining on the raimi suit, this looks alot more like he made it then that one does. It looked like toby just transformed into the suit rather than put it on.

And FYI he was sewing his mask for the vigilante costume in that clip, not the spidey suit

PEOPLE MAY HAVE THEIR QUALMS ABOUT THE SUIT BUT YOU HAD TO GO A DIFFERENT ROUTE TO SET IT APART FROM THE RAIMI VERSION. YEAH IT MIGHT NOT HAVE THE EXACT TRADITIONAL DESIGNING BUT ITS A PLUS THAT THEY SHOW THE GUY CREATING THE SUIT AND SURFING THE INTERNET TO GET IDEAS AND HOW TO'S AND WHAT..COULD YOU CREATE SOMETHING COOL IF YOU SKIMMED THROUGH THE INTERNET TO GET SEVERAL IDEAS, BINDING THEM TOGETHER AND MAKING SOMETHING UNIQUE? SURE YOU CAN..

I LOVE THE RAIMI VERSION SUIT WHOLEHEARTEDLY BUT YOU HAVE TO WONDER HOW A BROKE TEEN WITH ALOT GOING ON CREATES A EXTREMELY COOL AND COMPLEX SPIDERSUIT WITH A BODY WEB NETTING PERFECTLY GLUED ONTO A SPANDEX BODYSUIT.
