Never Before Seen Stills From THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

The Amazing Spider-Man is out now in theatres, but a new batch of high-res stills have been released which include a few scenes not in the final cut of the film, as well as plenty of behind-the-scenes shots of Marc Webb and the actors hard at work on set (including Stan Lee).

We've all seen The Amazing Spider-Man by now, and while the following stills are interesting enough to look at, the fact they show several scenes which were NOT in the final cut of the movie is perhaps the most interesting thing about them. Below, you can see a scene between Peter and Gwen in their high school, part of Ratha's confrontation in the sewer with the Lizard, a web-swnging scene with Peter and Gwen, and Connors outside Peter's house in Queens. Just how much footage was edited out of this film?!

Click on the images below to view the high-res versions.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

That shot of Dr. Ratha... cut from the movie. Why?
SuspenseSmith - 7/8/2012, 3:26 PM
The Untold Story is still untold apparently... I hope they have an extended cut for blu ray.
bbarber2323 - 7/8/2012, 3:27 PM
Hey,have you guys read IMDB lately on the IM3 page? It says Maria Hill, Ross, and The Falcon are in it. How come nobody has posted on this or made sure it's legit? Or am I just way late?
LucasMend - 7/8/2012, 3:29 PM
Saw 3 of these before, but still pretty cool
TimL - 7/8/2012, 3:29 PM
@SuspenseSmith: it gets told throughout all movies. You thought they "uncover" everything in the first movie?
Tony93 - 7/8/2012, 3:35 PM
It had so much potential..

crying (Spiderman) Pictures, Images and Photos
TheSoulEater - 7/8/2012, 3:40 PM
@Tony93

It did, thats unquestionable. It wasn't terrible, bad, or not good, in fact it was great, it just wasn't mind blowingly amazing as it Could have and SHOULD have been. They had all the makings for it, all the right ingredients, but no, it was a great story told in an "alright" way. I was expecting more cause they could have given us more.
RorMachine - 7/8/2012, 3:41 PM
This movie must have been absolutely butchered in the edit.
returnhangar - 7/8/2012, 3:41 PM
[frick]ing loved this movie so much
Tony93 - 7/8/2012, 3:49 PM
I bet if we watch with the deleted scenes it'll make for a much more entertaining story telling film..
Tony93 - 7/8/2012, 3:50 PM
well thats how origin stories go for ya nowadays..
kingshnake - 7/8/2012, 3:54 PM
Seeing anything from this movie makes me remember just how forgettable it was :(
HavocPrime - 7/8/2012, 4:07 PM
@ Ror

Agreed, there were a few scenes shown in the trailers that did not make it into the film, such as when Ratha was in the sewers with Connors.
Ha1frican - 7/8/2012, 4:07 PM
Y'know i've been thinking. The Oscorp building was supposed to be in Avengers right? so there was SOME attempt at connecting this to the MCU (possibly just in a joking way but still. What if all of those "Conveniently placed cranes" were actually cleaning up the mess from the Chitauri invasion and it actually is connected?
marvel72 - 7/8/2012, 4:08 PM
i bet they've cut scenes out that should of been left in & vice versa.

i hope this means a directors cut release on blu-ray.
TimL - 7/8/2012, 4:13 PM
There are ****loads of scenes missing in the movie. Watch a few trailers and go see the movie, you will notice instantly.

There will for sure be deleted scenes, I bet the same amount that the Avengers has (~15-20mins like that, probably not 30 mins but I'm pretty sure we get to see atleast 15 mins).
CaptainObvious - 7/8/2012, 4:18 PM
@TimL- Well, the advertisements did say "All of Spider-Man's secrets will be revealed." It didn't say over the course of a trilogy. When they put something like that on television, people expect an untold story and revealing secrets or else it's just false advertising. Besides, who wants to see an origin be dragged out for 3 movies?
Spidey31 - 7/8/2012, 4:31 PM
A lot was cut because apparently there was early screenings and people didnt like how it was so different from the originals so Sony panicked and cut everything that made different out. Nice going idiots who saw the movie
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 7/8/2012, 4:33 PM
Andrew Garfield looked so old in this movie (for a 17 year old). A couple of times it took me out of the story.
PeterParker1991 - 7/8/2012, 4:36 PM
Awesome movie. Don't care what any dumb haters out there say
GUNSMITH - 7/8/2012, 4:39 PM
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 7/8/2012, 4:40 PM
@Spidey31

What you said is not true. This movie is already different from Raimi's movies, that it wouldn't matter what they take out. The cut that was released in theaters, is the same cut that everyone saw at early screenings. It was a boring story with good actors doing the best they could. Plus unless they chopped out a completely new story I doubt it would have had any impact.
Christuffer - 7/8/2012, 4:42 PM
You guys are redonkulous. This movie was great. "Boring", "just okay", "forgettable", "alright". I just don't get it. The movie rocked the freaking house.
Mind=blown on two different levels.
Level 1 = Why people don't like it
Level 2 = It was awesome
silverdog - 7/8/2012, 4:44 PM
just "the good spider-man" for me... antoher origin story, again with all the unnecesary high school drama (when both garfield and stone look like college students), and all the scenes they cut out... far from "amazing"
Shadow101 - 7/8/2012, 4:49 PM
Well it was a long movie
Zordan - 7/8/2012, 4:52 PM
so did u guys like it? im seeing it on 12... :/
CPBuff22 - 7/8/2012, 5:14 PM
The thing that made Amazing Spider-Man so much more enjoyable for me than the original trilogy might be the fact that Andrew Garfield looked like someone who was nerdy but still could get a date while Toby Maguire didn't make me believe he could get any girl, let alone Kirsten Dunst.
TrueRedBlue - 7/8/2012, 5:21 PM
Even though it got some very essential parts cut out of it, I still very much loved the movie!
BenderDickCumPatch - 7/8/2012, 5:25 PM
I loved this movie more than the other 3.
marvel72 - 7/8/2012, 5:27 PM
@ Zordan

yeah mate its good, garfield & stone own it,swinging through the city has never looked better & some of the best fight scenes ever seen in a comic book movie.

it also features the best stan lee cameo ever!

3/5 good but not perfect.
Spidey31 - 7/8/2012, 5:28 PM
@Zordon I think people like it, it's just the deleted scenes people are talking about.
Spidey31 - 7/8/2012, 5:34 PM
No ones hating
Cartoon22 - 7/8/2012, 5:39 PM
the lizard sucked but the movie was really good just not asmazing it needed a better lizard villian
CrashTest - 7/8/2012, 6:07 PM
Man I loved the movie.
Spider-man trash talk was on point.
Web-shoots were dope.
CG was great.
Lizard was much better than I though.
The arachnid likeness that spider-man had was fantastic. (Wrapping up the Lizard in Hall)
Swinging through the City looked really good and realistic.
Parker was much much much better than his predecessor.
And Flash was prefect!

Bark4Soul - 7/8/2012, 6:20 PM
@Prog To me this movie sucked because... (Allow me to reply)

1. Origin story - Didn't need to be 70% origin, MOST movie goers know of his origin, same with Superman, we don't need to draw it out, we get it, he gets bit, he gets powers, he helps NYC

2. High School drama - Uhh he IS in HS, have you read Ultimate Spidey at all?

3. Cheesy “superhero” moments. Especially when citizens helped SM get to Oscorp. - Little cheesy yes but they did that in the Raimi ones as well in SM1 on the bridge. It is just a nice little nod to the folks of NYC

4. Villain turns good at the end (like Raimi’s) - Not a great touch but again, most of the time Connors is neutral in the MU

5. Very slow at times. - I don't know what u would have liked, 140 minutes of hum fighting people with no dialogue?

I am very disappointed. Now just waiting for TDKR. - TDKR will be cool, this whole summer has been awesome of CBM's, plz don't start a worthless Nolan vs Whedon/Webb debate
Kevinwillpeabodyproperties - 7/8/2012, 6:23 PM
K I saw spiderman for the second time and let just say I paid close attention. The scene where spiderman goes into the bathroom to look for the lizard the camera goes out wide and I am almost positive u see the chameleon blending into the wall. They r going with the sinister six plot, think about it obviously Norman osbourne is mentioned and the venom suit is mentione numerous times very importantly when dr Connors and the business man in the black suit r talking " ur toys can be taken away TOO" there's three of them. Then obviously The lizard is still alive at the end and well. The man in the cell is NOT Norman osbourne. It has been confirmed. I believe it is electro which is why there was two obvious flashes of lighting and people r looking too into it. Unfortunately I have not completely figured out mysterio yet, but he is dr rinehart and some part of me says that name is familiar from the movie but I'm not sure.

Thought?
Spidey31 - 7/8/2012, 6:39 PM
^^its chameleon disguised as Norman Osborn
Kevinwillpeabodyproperties - 7/8/2012, 6:45 PM
That's a great Point spidey 31 wow did not think of that
Kevinwillpeabodyproperties - 7/8/2012, 6:47 PM
But why the lightning entering and leaving.... I really feel electro but u could be righ
animeex - 7/8/2012, 6:51 PM
I saw this movie today and I have to say I liked it. Always differences in movies and the director's version, but a good flick. I still like Raimi's versions... First 2 anyway. A combo of both with both men's ideas would be perfect. Still have to say though that the "great power" should have stayed. The new version was long and not as memorable. Out of the whole conversation I only remember "a moral right to do good" but there was more to it. If that was it ok, but the other is still in my head since childhood. A good flick overall.
MosDeffa - 7/8/2012, 6:51 PM
Don't forget the guy flash is making eat the lunch off the table is Eddie brock
Kevinwillpeabodyproperties - 7/8/2012, 6:54 PM
Shut up really? That wa the kids name Eddie?
Drewbee87 - 7/8/2012, 6:59 PM
I've had these stills for a week, the behind the scenes ones for a month! lol
MosDeffa - 7/8/2012, 7:03 PM
Yeah flash says eat it Brock and Peter respond "dont eat it Eddie"

Then flash beats him up
storyteller - 7/8/2012, 7:16 PM
Most of the "cut scenes" were just scenes that had like 20 to 30 seconds removed......you know what they normally do. I think they cut out three full scenes and two of three cut were exactly spectacular.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 7/8/2012, 7:40 PM
Pretty cool
ATrueHero1987 - 7/8/2012, 7:41 PM
Spider-Man was a good movie but don't make up shit to defend it. It had flaws(some of those mistakes could've been prevented) but it's still a good movie. Don't make up shit.smh
BlueDemon - 7/8/2012, 8:11 PM
The movie dragged a little but overall good [frick]ing movie
FireKnightRises - 7/8/2012, 10:39 PM
contact lens really? parker wears contact lens? and he don't look like shy, typical nerd, he's too cool for a nerd

what I don't like from this movie besides the shit costume is peter already have confidence before he got spider power heck, he even try to hit gwen a few times like a horny teenager

as hardcore spidey fans this movie really makes me shocked with their interpretation of peter parker
DJSpidey26 - 7/8/2012, 11:00 PM
damn Gwen stacey should have bigger boobs like in the comics not some flatchested girl like emma stone! her face with the blond hair looks goods
