AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 "Gwen & Peter" Featurette

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 "Gwen & Peter" Featurette

Sony Pictures has provided the Daily Mail with their latest featurette for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This one focuses on Peter Parker's romantic relationship with Gwen Stacy.

There is a very fine line with marketing of a film. Show too little and there is a chance that your potential audience hasn't seen enough to commit to buying a ticket. But, show too much and your potential audience will feel as though they have already seen the film. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has already put out trailers, posters, stills and featurettes, yet the release is still roughly two months away. We'll still have official clips, maybe a few more posters and lots and lots of TV spots to come. Oh, and even more featurettes and behind-the-scenes (B-Roll) footage. Should Sony's marketing pump the brakes or steamroll ahead?

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx is Electro and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn. The Amazing Spider-Man sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.

Blah blah blah blah
Why dont sony just show everything from the movie and tell us everything about the movie to us months before it actually gets released????
With each new trailer, each new story being leaked and officially released, i am loosing more and more interest in this movie.
We already know so much about the actual movie!!!!
Will ignore this one at the cinema, rather rent it one day when i feel like seeing everything i have already been told
TheDpool - 3/5/2014, 3:02 AM
@Tromills - its people like you that have already booked your ticket

but yeah they have shown a hell of alot of this movie
lexcorp - 3/5/2014, 3:10 AM
@Tromills you are a big cry baby.....heck you still going to see the movie so stop all the bishing lol
CoulsonLives - 3/5/2014, 3:12 AM
Andrew Garfield missed the Oscars because Emma Stone's mom has cancer D:
TypicalParkerLuck - 3/5/2014, 3:13 AM
@Tromills....isn't that kinda your fault for taking the initiative to actually click on the link and then click on the video and actually sit through all 2 minutes of a 2.5 hour movie just to complain about how much of the small snippets spoiled the entire movie for you? Wouldn't it be the logical thing to just not click on the link in the first place?
CoulsonLives - 3/5/2014, 3:15 AM
This is why Andrew Garfield is truly the better Spider-Man. He puts the woman he loves before himself.
rebellion - 3/5/2014, 3:17 AM
truly better spider-man becuase he didn't attend oscars because his girlfriend's mom has cancer? it's what any decent human being would do, how does that have anything to do with him being a better spider-man (which he is not imo)?
theowl - 3/5/2014, 3:20 AM
I am in love with this movie...

I mean it.. it is a serious medical condition ..
SonGoku - 3/5/2014, 3:20 AM

Sorry about that. I deleted my comment. I thought you were joking since this video was posted by the Daily Mail and they seem to believe everything causes cancer.
CoulsonLives - 3/5/2014, 3:22 AM
Instead of pleasing countless of fans by presenting something.
He would rather fly to Arizona to be with Emma and comfort her.
Not every actor will be willing to do that.
SonGoku - 3/5/2014, 3:23 AM
Still, it's sad to hear. Hope Emma's mother pulls through.
CoulsonLives - 3/5/2014, 3:24 AM
Both Spider-men are good. I just prefer Andrew over Tobey.
He's my definitive Spidey. So you don't have to agree with me on that one.
CoulsonLives - 3/5/2014, 3:28 AM
II feel the same way about DOFP, minus the marketing and showing too much XD

Jwe75 - 3/5/2014, 3:57 AM
No more trailers or TV_spots.... just the movie

CBMs 101 ...Peter/Gwen love story + Goblin + Electro + Rhino + Oscorp shenanigans = high possibility clusterf**k.
PeterDarker121 - 3/5/2014, 4:04 AM
There's no way this film will have the impact for me that reading Amazing Spider-Man 121 for the first time had, no matter HOW well it's done. Maybe if the first movie had handled a lot of things better, I'd feel differently, but I think I'm going to end up "analyzing" this movie more so than "feel" it.
Jollem - 3/5/2014, 4:11 AM
people are still complaining that they've seen the movie even tho they clearly haven't? are people really grasping for any little thing they can to complain about?
Jollem - 3/5/2014, 4:12 AM
@Jollem - well, duh. that's what happens
Jollem - 3/5/2014, 4:12 AM

amateur fanboy gripe: "Peter/Gwen love story + Goblin + Electro + Rhino + Oscorp shenanigans = high possibility clusterf**k."

Peter/Gwen love story + Goblin + Electro + Rhino + Oscorp shenanigans = things that happen in a movie

you've watched a movie before, haven't ya? multiple things happen in movies. don't let it hurt your brain TOO much
Ashes2Phoenix - 3/5/2014, 4:22 AM
I am really liking the look and tone of this movie. I think we could have a hit not only in the box office but hopefully amongst the fans and the critics. After watching the different trailers I have noticed they really have not shown us that much. I am hearing from reliable sources that there is plenty of footage and story development we have not seen. This featurette goes to show that and it appears that Marc Webb has been let off the leash, giving him room to do what he does best, character development and believable interactions. I can really feel Marc's influence and if that is balanced properly, with the insanely good action scenes we could potentially have the definitive Spider-Man film.
CoulsonLives - 3/5/2014, 4:31 AM
Oh, that bridge scene was cute.
Ashes2Phoenix - 3/5/2014, 4:36 AM
The camera work and cinematography is much better than the first. I liked TASM despite the faults because even though the story was generic, I thought the characters minus the Lizard had been handled well. I saw the potential and I think it might be realised with this film. Now they have the origin out of the way, it leaves them freedom to be more creative.
Jollem - 3/5/2014, 4:37 AM
@Ashes2Phoenix - yezzir. i is excited

@Coulson - i liked your deleted scene in tasm

LeeroyJenkins - 3/5/2014, 5:13 AM
you dont have to watch the trailers, trollmills
Tromills - 3/5/2014, 5:22 AM
To those who say i will have my ticket booked or made the mistakes of clicking on the links.
1: I will not be seeing this in the cinema's
2: I was very excited about this movie, i realy was, the first time i saw Electro i was very excited, but so much news came out that it started ruining it for me.
The trailer for the birth of electro came out, i did not watch it, but by just the title you can see whats its all about, all the headlines also give away a lot without me having to click on the link.
It feels like every 3rd day there is new posters, new stories, new tv spots new trailers new toy line spoilers etc etc etc
I would love to know how much money they spend just on the marketing, more than ost small budget movies cost i would say
If after all this you still want to see the movie, great for you, but all this media attention ruined the experience for me, but hey i grew up in a world where you only saw trailers on the tv or in the cinema and that was more than enough to wet the appitite to see the final movie.
Jwe75 - 3/5/2014, 5:24 AM

Ofcourse ;)
