'Richard Parker' Returns In Officially Released Deleted Scene From THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

As if the movie itself wasn't already a big enough mess, an excerpt from a deleted scene on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 DVD and Blu-ray features the surprise return of Peter Parker's father. It's confusing and makes no sense, and you can check it out after the jump!

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, and Chris Zylka, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray later this month. Will you guys be picking up a copy? Me neither.

Feel the room Josh. Feel the room.

This one was by far the most pointless one. Glad it was cut. Great acting from Andrew though. It just wasn't needed.

This scene alone displays all the good and the bad with both Webb's Spidey movies.

I hate everything about the parent sub-plot.

HavocPrime - 8/11/2014, 4:52 PM
This whole film should have been deleted and started over.
JFerguson - 8/11/2014, 4:53 PM

Lol Masterchief, brilliant but remember to wash as Josh hates the unwashed masses.

Is this even for real? This movie was terrible enough as it is. I didn't think it could get much worse but this proves it.

I didn't think it was the greatest movie by any means, but I'm not quite sure why it's getting so much hate. I thought it was a solid comic book movie.

At first I thought you were gay for Josh, but then it turns out you're a girl. Made me laugh even harder. Good to have more girls here.
GeneralZod1138 - 8/11/2014, 5:40 PM
Whoooooooooooooooooooooo CARES???????????

Still doesn't change the fact that this movie was terrible....
CitizenV - 8/11/2014, 5:40 PM
The only problem I didn't have with this movie was Garfield/Spidey. That bank heist beginning was great. I didn't like the Ferris Beuller showing up and kissing the girl/getting diploma. I turned to my GF and whispered "He's not supposed to be cool like that". But yeah HORRIBLE film. This was a cut up movie made by a long desk of people with bottles of water, notebooks, phones and assorted crap in front of them. I'm sure some charts and a few films were on display as well.

As disappointed as I am with the Spider-man movies lately, I can't fault Garfield for any of it. He IS a good actor, and a great Spider-man. He's just given some bad material to work with.

Anyway, this deleted scene was kind of stupid even in-universe, I mean sure, Richard Parker would be kind of cautious towards him, not just to avoid frightening him, but also because he doesn't want to blow it - yet at the same time, you've gotta turn your volume up to hear this guy. This isn't Roose Bolton, is it? No! So take charge, put some personality into it, some inflection, some emotion, and freaking SPEAK your lines.
3DOldskool - 8/11/2014, 6:31 PM

Garfield is a partial reason as to why the movies aren't doing so well. There's only one answer that we can use to justify that: He's just not a popular actor among the general audience comic book superhero fans. He only wins over half of the people who are "true" comic book Spider-man fans.
Mercwitham0uth - 8/11/2014, 6:31 PM

I think Wesley Snipes has his movie role.

@ Dio

"Heard one of the Sony planned sequels in the Spider-verse is going to be about Peter's cousins family and their troubles with tax evasion."

Tainted87 - 8/11/2014, 7:14 PM
The character is so much more popular than any actor that could be cast in the role. That is the draw. When that character's ethos is looking screwy, boring, and rehashed, then people will not want to see it. You don't have to be a fan to like Spidey. Garfield is a great Spider-man, but he's an AWFUL Peter Parker. If he had enough creative input as to how Peter should be portrayed in the movies, then YES it would be his fault - but I seriously doubt that.
Jollem - 8/11/2014, 7:16 PM
andy g. is a good peter/spidey. tasm movies are good spidey movies

3DOldskool - 8/11/2014, 7:18 PM

I don't think Garfield should hold the same title to Spider-man as RDJ is to Iron Man. I think the next reboot, Sony should try to cast someone in between Maguire and Garfield for the role.
Jollem - 8/11/2014, 7:22 PM
well, andrew is actually playing peter parker where rdjr. is more playing rdjr. and not so much tony stark
mrbombastic - 8/11/2014, 7:23 PM
Did josh delate my comments?
Tainted87 - 8/11/2014, 7:26 PM
I'm not sure I understand what you mean there. RDJ doesn't so much play Tony Stark as he does an outlandish billionaire version of himself. I'm not really defending Garfield so much as just saying that he could do better if the script called for it. I'm not totally into Spider-man enough to even want another movie in my lifetime, so you know, there's that. But who would you cast?
Tainted87 - 8/11/2014, 7:27 PM
Hah, Jollem beat me to it.
