Anne Hathaway "Mentioned" for 'Lois Lane' in the Superman Reboot?

A casting site that'll soon be available for 'Clark Kent' in The Man of Steel, has actress Anne Hathaway being "mentioned" for his love interest 'Lois Lane'. Check it out!

Over at Feature Film Auditions, they make further mention of a casting call for Zack Snyder's reboot of 'The Man of Steel', for principle actors, and soon for extras. The site also covertly lists The Devil Wears Prada actress Anne Hathaway as being "mentioned" for Clark Kent's main squeeze, Lois Lane.

This should come as no surprise being that Warner Bros. is also considering Hathaway for a female role in their final Batman chapter - The Dark Knight Rises.

And in September, actress Natalie Portman was said to be the studios' number one choice for the part of Lois Lane. And she's also on the list of contenders for a role in TDKR. With this, we can assume that all the actresses that were listed for TDKR, could also be considered for the The Man of Steel.

Anyhow, for those who don't know, Lois Lane is Superman's chief romantic interest and, in the current DC continuity, his wife. And like Superman's alter ego Clark Kent, she is a reporter for the Metropolis newspaper, 'The Daily Planet'.

From the listed contenders, Hathaway seems like the most amiable choice, but we have a long wait until the list narrows. So consider this another day, another contender for The Man of Steel, which is targeted for July shoot, soaring into theaters winter 2012.

Hathaway SUCKS! Please get somebody who doesn't have to apply ten pounds of make-up to look halfway decent to play Lois. Please! Also, somebody who can act would be nice. Anne Hathaway plays Anne Hathaway in everything she's in. Boring.
patriautism - 11/22/2010, 11:54 PM
She's not my first choice, but I think she would do a great job.
erth2drew - 11/22/2010, 11:57 PM
i agree with pat....she has the talent but i would knocking on her door just yet
Dickel - 11/22/2010, 11:59 PM
Hmm not who I would have picked, but maybe.
She's a pretty damn good actress, it's just that when i think of her as Lois Lane...well it doesn't feel quite 'right'.
ViperXX79 - 11/23/2010, 12:18 AM
God no.
breakUbatman - 11/23/2010, 12:47 AM
I'm okay with that
48and2 - 11/23/2010, 12:56 AM
It's perfect imo... she's quirky and nerdy and not TOO hot, but still hot. Very good choice if they go that way - almost perfect.
JackJNapier - 11/23/2010, 12:57 AM
id do her, so yes.
Vafrous - 11/23/2010, 1:02 AM
I want a HOT Lois Lane...not a cute one
UncleDrew - 11/23/2010, 1:10 AM
TheSuperSoldier - 11/23/2010, 1:21 AM
That could be cool, she's not a bad actress. Better than Kate Bosworth.
devilscomics - 11/23/2010, 1:38 AM
She really looks the part!
SHAZAM171 - 11/23/2010, 1:51 AM
HELL NO!!!!! Kate Beckinsale!!!!!!!!
Vafrous - 11/23/2010, 2:02 AM
^Great choice...but a bit old. Id go with Jennifer Carpenter or Gemma Arterton
LOL - 11/23/2010, 2:04 AM
I believe she can do that part well... the Lois Lane character has evolved over the years and I think Anne Hathaway can do a mixture of old and new versions well. Lois Lane was the perennial plucky damsel in distress back in the day and sometime was portrayed (probably as much as an in-joke amongst older writers) as having the most Superman related rescues ever due to her getting into heaps of trouble and having only a flimsy amount of identity - sorta. It's only during the later years that the character has been "fleshed" out, so to speak, and given a more serious and intelligent mien.

She can do funny and serious when the role calls for it ....and no offense intended to the actress, but I'll take anything compared to what Kate Bosworth gave as a performance.

Teri Hatcher was probably the hottest and most downloaded Lois Lane we ever got.... Erica Durance comes in a close second.
marvel72 - 11/23/2010, 2:07 AM
yeah she could be a good lois lane.
Layperson - 11/23/2010, 2:15 AM
Yeppers, like many others she wouldn't be my first choice, but I could definitely see her doing a fantastic job. I fully support her taking on the role, but only so long as they give the Superman/Clark role to someone who is near to her in age. Nothing is worse than when they cast the primary love interest and the primary protagonist like 20 years apart, that crap is just ridiculous
marvel72 - 11/23/2010, 3:25 AM
@ wards

no way,mate.

smallville the movie would suck,i reckon alot of the fans of that shit would like to see it take that route.
Vafrous - 11/23/2010, 3:25 AM
@wards, I was refering to Shazams pick Kate Beckinsale, cretin...
Vafrous - 11/23/2010, 3:34 AM
@deadpool... A Smallville movie might just win Welling an Oscar, lol :-\
BruceWayneNewton - 11/23/2010, 4:43 AM
she is an odd looking lois lane.
GIJoeBaroness - 11/23/2010, 4:52 AM
I think she'd do great. I don't think she's perfect looking, but she's pretty and a good actress. She'd play the part well, and that's what counts.
Shaman - 11/23/2010, 4:57 AM
YES!!! There IS a god!!! She's definitely my first choice for a young Lois!!! My favorite Lois has always been Teri Hatcher and i know for a fact that Anne could pick up very nicely where Teri left off! Hell, just look at her performance in Devil Wears Prada :))
Amazo - 11/23/2010, 5:06 AM
She's shit.Has no personality at all.We need someone feisty!
Ibz - 11/23/2010, 5:12 AM
well they could have had some one much worse but i am hoping some one else gets it, some one like olivia wilde but she's not bad choice
YourMomNaked - 11/23/2010, 5:17 AM
Wow, these rumors are getting worse. What's next: Joey Lawrence as Lex Luthor?! Whoa!
Kyos - 11/23/2010, 5:21 AM
Could be better, could be worse.
longbowhunter - 11/23/2010, 5:53 AM
I really dont like Anne Hathaway. That being said I would give her the benefit of the doubt in a Superman movie. I couldnt stand Julia Stiles either, but she's pretty okay on Dexter.
DCeddie - 11/23/2010, 6:08 AM
Evangeline Lilly...

i've thought this since they cast whats her name in Returns...

however, i do love Hathaway, so i wouldn't be bummed to see her...
Shaman - 11/23/2010, 6:18 AM
Lilly is Carol Ferris incarnate!!!
DCeddie - 11/23/2010, 6:31 AM
could definately see that...or Jordana Brewster with those bangs...if she even has them anymore
AlexDeLarge87 - 11/23/2010, 6:36 AM
Odette Yustman or Michelle Monaghan
LP4 - 11/23/2010, 6:37 AM
Anne Hathaway= GREAT Lois!!! MUCH, MUCH better than portman
cbostont102 - 11/23/2010, 6:43 AM
I think I'd rather see her as Lois than anyone in the next Batman...I gotta say though my favorite thing about this whole thread is the picture and "S" on the top of the article!

urbansamurai70 - 11/23/2010, 6:44 AM
DarrellKaiser - 11/23/2010, 6:55 AM
Nope. Looks just as much as a teenager as Bosworth did.
nuck82 - 11/23/2010, 7:28 AM
i think she fits if there going to be young again, i think they need to go older, we need a late 30s early 40s superman, with alittle gray in his hair
cbostont102 - 11/23/2010, 7:36 AM
nuck82@ Then Sandra Bullock would be PERFECT!!!
cbostont102 - 11/23/2010, 7:40 AM
just please, please, please go back to an emblem like this!!!
