The Wolverine is the second best movie I have seen this year, second only to The Place Beyond the Pines. Better than Iron Man 3 and leagues better than Man of Steel.

Gmoney84 - 9/2/2013, 6:18 PM
Man of Steel was awesome!
Reasonnnn - 9/2/2013, 6:23 PM
The Place Beyond the Pines is my fav film of the year so far.

Worst Summer Movies...Ever...
DJRock93 - 9/2/2013, 6:26 PM
MoS for me personally was THE MOST disappointing movie of the year. For me, 7.5/10 on the disappointment scale.
TheLetter10 - 9/2/2013, 6:28 PM
MoS was a huge let down for me.

"Don't worry about saving these people, you need to hide your identity!"
marvel72 - 9/2/2013, 6:29 PM
all good movies but they all had disappointing moments as well.
UncleDrew - 9/2/2013, 6:33 PM
Star Trek Into Darkness was my favorite movie of the summer. Haters gone Hate but it was an entertaining new version that I was a big fan of because I didn't like the original Star Treks anyway and this made me like it a little bit
Aero909 - 9/2/2013, 6:34 PM
I didn't hate anything this year, I *gasp* ENJOYED every movie i saw this summer
AlexLaChiusa - 9/2/2013, 6:36 PM
While I still liked the film, Man of Steel was the biggest disappointment to me as well. The dialogue was atrocious and I hated the climatic battle between Zod and Supes. That being said, the final scene was perfection.

I can see why people hated IM3 but I personally loved it. The Mandarin twist could have been handled better if Aldrich has been played differently. If it was more like the Ras Al Ghul reveal in Batman Begins, I think less people would have hated on it.

The Wolverine was such a surprise. I loved how small scale and personal it was. Pity about the ending. It didn't ruin the movie but prevented me from absolutely loving it.

Pacific Rim was just retarded but probably the most fun I've had at the movies this year.
Folchibas - 9/2/2013, 6:37 PM
MrSundayMovies is a hack.
Moohika - 9/2/2013, 6:38 PM
Biggest Surprise: The Wolverine (When the last was so bad it makes this one look better than it actually is.)

Biggest Disappointment: Iron Man 3 (Wasted villain, stupid decisions, missed opportunities for Phase 2.)

Met Expectations: Man of Steel (From what I have read, the disappointment comes from people wanting the corny, underwear over-the-pants wearing Superman they grew up with.)
StarlordX - 9/2/2013, 6:39 PM
My opinion:

1 Pacific Rim
2 Star Trek into darkness
3 Iron Man 3
4 Man of Steel
5 The Wolverine
TheWolverine08 - 9/2/2013, 6:40 PM
And here... we.... go.
AlexLaChiusa - 9/2/2013, 6:41 PM
1. The World's End
2. Pacific Rim
3. Star Trek Into Darkness
4. This Is The End
5. Iron Man 3
6. The Conjuring
7. The Wolverine
8. Man of Steel
frova - 9/2/2013, 6:41 PM
whats with all these sh*tty editorials getting on the front page lately?
B00uWhore692 - 9/2/2013, 6:41 PM
Hmm. I actually agree with pretty much all of this.
sticktothetruth - 9/2/2013, 6:43 PM
Amazing how some people won't give up. They should be cleaning floors, WHICH MEANS A LOT OF DIRTY FLOORS. Iron man 3 ruined a potential great story AFTER 20 MINUTES with the same nonsense. None of the 3 movies were really that good. Star Trek was the biggest disappointing for the reasons mentioned. As soon as Weller showed up in the ship it was over. Waited all that time for this. The rest of the films were pretty much rated correctly except one. Man of Steel was without a doubt a great movie and with the Batman's makes marvel look like a kid show ( which is what most of their fans are ). Superman is fighting more than 1 super person and it wasn't a joke like the first time. Tell you what people, my boss won't like it, but it will lead into why Batman looks into Superman, and why a Justice league will be formed. Remember that. And go back and watch Avengers and see what a silly thing it really was.
Moohika - 9/2/2013, 6:44 PM
People don't yet seem to grasp the fact that it was the first 24 hours of him being Superman...
yinyangpalms - 9/2/2013, 6:44 PM
The most enjoyable Action film I've seen in 2013 is Fast 6. It delivered exactly what one would want from a Fast And Furious Sequel. And it took the time to make the characters matter in between all the action.

I began to suspect IM 3 was going to be terrible about 1.5 months before it's release. A year after Marvel early released entire scenes of Avengers they were strangely quiet about IM3. So my expectations nosedived and I was right, it was terrible. It is the worst Marvel Studio film ever. A totally senseless film that felt like it was made by some wacked out drug addict. Wait! It was made by a wacked out drug addict!

Into Darkness was a terrible bore. But I expected it to be.

After watching Snyder's Watchmen, I expected MOS to be to awesome. Instead it had not one great moment. The closest it came to great scenes were direct rips from Smallville including the 1st flight. Cavill's Superman is bulky but wimpy. And he's a dumb brute.
It was like watching The Hulk in Superman's body. Or reading an old comic were Superman suddenly becomes clumsy and is accidentally destroying Metropolis.

It was by far the most disappointing 2013 Summer Movie. And on my dial it goes to 11!

TheWolverine08 - 9/2/2013, 6:47 PM
The Wolverine: 8.5

Man of Steel: 8.0

Iron Man 3: 7.0

I'm predicting a 9.0-9.5 five for Thor: The Dark World if everything pans out.
Swiftsword777 - 9/2/2013, 6:47 PM
IM3 Hands down the smelliest turd to be crapped out this summer.
LexHairFight - 9/2/2013, 6:47 PM
I personally like the disaster comedies the best - 'The Worlds End' and 'This is the End' were both fantastic. As far as the CBM's, I'd probably go with The Wolverine, but the ending was so terrible. I didn't have too high of hopes for IM3, so that maybe why I wasn't disappointed. The success of the Avengers wouldn't have been felt in the production that quickly. Cap 2 and GOTG is when the payoff should come, perhaps even Thor TDW.
Jer3miah - 9/2/2013, 6:49 PM
Iron Man 3 was the most disappointing to me. MoS was great, but it had it's flaws very obviously clear. The Wolverine and Into Darkness seemed the most structured and delivered the level intended.
MisterNiceGuy - 9/2/2013, 6:53 PM
If Zack Snyder and David Goyer are such hacks to some of you guys, how is MOS most disappointing? Thats what I thought, bias little fanboys. IM3 is by far most disappointing. The movie we got was nothing like what most of us were expecting with or without the Mandarin twist. That was just the icing on the [frick]ing shitty cake that is IM3. IM is still the best Marvel film though. Hands down. Which only adds to the disappointment of IM3.
yinyangpalms - 9/2/2013, 6:53 PM
@Nomis We disagree on MOS but I do agree that Iron Man 3 was definitely in Schumachers Batman And Robin territory and even Superman IV The Quest For Peace.

I remember critics saying they disliked IM 2 but they said they like RDJ as Stark so much that they could not bring themselves to "Not recommend it" or give it a bad review.
That same thing has happened with IM 3. RDJ has the ability to make people not give a f*** if the movie sucks!

The real tragedy in this is that Feige knew IM 3 was bad. They hid it. You could see it on Feige's face in interviews that he was worried about it. And when it made 1.3 Billion, it sent Marvel a loud and clear message on quality and that message is that quality doesn't matter.
Shadowelfz - 9/2/2013, 6:54 PM
Werent you the same guy who called people transvestites and said others were gay for kids and shit, MrSunday? And you want people to take you seriously?
TheWolverine08 - 9/2/2013, 6:54 PM
I think MOS kind of set up to be disappointing when over zealous fans declared it the greatest CBM of all time from trailers.
Platinum - 9/2/2013, 6:56 PM
Star Trek Into Darkness and Man of Steel. They felt way too half assed when it came to the characters and story. Kirk and Clark imo are probably the worst heroes of 2013.
TheAmazingSpiderFan - 9/2/2013, 6:58 PM
i really liked star trek into darkness ...
yinyangpalms - 9/2/2013, 7:00 PM
@Blackjackoff10 Pretty hard for Smallville to rip a comic book panel.
I'm not complaining that they ripped Smallville. But it's sad when ripped scenes were their best scenes.
Even the battle scene was a Transformers rip.
Alexandre - 9/2/2013, 7:02 PM

TheAmazingSpiderFan - 9/2/2013, 7:02 PM
id give mos a 2 on ... that machine, i enjoyed but just wish it had a lil more
my fav scene was when pops kent was lookin at young clark and he puts his fists on his hips with the red cape on

i had this idea... that clark should've added the cape to the costume ... since the movie pretty much made the cape appear out of no where

yinyangpalms - 9/2/2013, 7:03 PM
@Nomis I think Disney is already polluting Marvel with the hiring of A Listers in upcoming Marvel Films.
Ocelot - 9/2/2013, 7:04 PM
STID, Fast and Furious 6(this was The Avengers with cars and adrenaline) and The Wolverine are my top 3 summer movies for this year. Not even going to bother with the "most dissapointing" and I advise everyone else to do the same. 2guns surprised me aswell.
ricko8687 - 9/2/2013, 7:05 PM
1 Star Trek into darkness. 2 The wolverine ( a pleasant surprise) 3 Pacific Rim (made me nostalgic for the old Godzilla vs movies) 4 Tie IM3 and MOS 5 Lone Ranger 6 R.I.P ( what a disappointment ) haven't seen WWZ or Kick Ass 2 but I will
JM4Superman - 9/2/2013, 7:06 PM
Man of Steel was great
TheWolverine08 - 9/2/2013, 7:07 PM
How about we celebrate the most fulfilling CBMs this year instead of always focusing on the negative for a change?
