We've once again teamed up with our friends at Titan Books to offer one lucky reader the chance to get their hands on a copy of Man of Steel: The Official Movie Novelization; a book written by Greg Cox (the New York Times bestselling author of The Dark Knight Rises).

The movie, from director Zack Snyder and slated for release on June 14, 2013, stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Michael Shannon as General Zod. Also starring are Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Ayelet Zurer, Lawrence Fishburne and Russell Crowe. Greg Cox is the New York Times bestselling author of The Dark Knight Rises movie novelization and several hugely popular Star Trek novels. He has also written successful tie-ins for Countdown, Infinite Crisis and many more. Cox is a consulting editor for Tor Books and was nominated in 2008 for the Best Speculative Adapted Scribe Award for 52: The Novel.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

It's a great book, I just read it. I recommend any fan of CBMs to read the novelizations. I learned more about Ra's Al Ghul's backstory from the book thanI did from the film. Same with TDKR - You know why the Joker's out of sight after you read the book.
RamonSuarez - 6/27/2013, 11:31 AM
Lets hope the novel can explain why Superman would want to commit genocide against Krypton even though it was against the whole idea of his Jor-El's wish that his son would act as a bridge between two peoples.
